Automotive drag queens went from Pep Boys fender vents and hood scoops to body cladding and butch badges. I miss the days where a little lipstick like a red stripe would give 2 more horsepower.
Recently rented a newer model Altima and it also had that throttle lag. It makes sense for vehicles with those questionable Jatco CVTs, but not for a naturally aspirated vehicle with a standard transmission.
It was fine on the highway, a bit noisy due to the roof rack and all-terrains vs the Platinum or other on-road trims. No worries about tires overheating.
The Honda Pilot TrailSport skidplates can support the entire weight of the Pilot if needed, per Honda. Explorer Timberline also has steel skidplates though Ford makes no claims about how much weight they can support. Both are better for protection than the appearance-only "skidplate" Nissan equips the Pathfinder Rock Creek with here.
Yep! In a world with so many options, it's hard to be a big stand-out! And in this case with the Rock Creek vs. other overland-y options... the others are more capable.
A family member of mine got one of these recently, and I was passenger in it yesterday for the first time. The interior is VERY poor quality. The center console in the second row was far from sturdy, and the lever that you adjust your seat with was even more wobbly. Low grade materials everywhere- including the seats that were very hard. The infotainment screen was hideous, and the poor sound insulation made road and engine noise crazy loud. This has a really nice look on the outside in my opinion, but I can honestly say this offers an incredibly poor riding experience. Anyone considering this should do themselves a favor and skip this option.
I thought these new pathfinders were pretty good looking in that color! Again, another great video Jake!

It's like Drag Race vs All Stars

How does it drive on highways for long road trips? Is there any chance of the off-road tires overheating on long road trips in summer?

The ford explorer timberline got a really skid plate not that little thing Honda calls a skid plate

It’s a damn solid CUV but it’s damn good in a sea filled with excellence. Okay CUVs aren’t at all excellent but you hopefully get my point. :P

At this point the Pathfinder RC is being discounted to roughly 40-42k all of its other competitors are selling for 48-52k
Great video first time watching! KG
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
thanks for honest reviews
😬 me worrying about getting a nail in the tires on the job site 😂.
My level of worry was off the CHARTS filming there 😂 but I wanted somewhere that was at least off-pavement somehow!

Thanks for the input! Did the family member also get a Rock Creek or another trim?
@@OutMotorsports Rock Creek.
The rear center console is removable. So yeah, it is not super sturdy, but it works fine and can be removed for pass through
But dont you think its well worth the sub 45k price, which drops even more during holiday sales events.
