  • Some of the millions of Ukrainians displaced by war found their way to Finland. We met a young music teacher by the name of Sofiaa, who is from Central Ukraine. She came to Finland and fell in love with a Finn named Otto.

We have Ukrainian friends. Sadly they are here because the war. Absolutely wonderful people! Hard working, humble and decent people. I can say if it's up to me you have permanent home in Finland if you want that.

Beautiful voices, it’s a shame that an elderly despot has inflicted so much pain and suffering on millions of innocent people. Shame on the Russians for being a passive human mass, not real people with a sense of dignity.
Thank you Finland for harbouring these great people in their time of need. You have had your bitter taste of Russian imperialism in the bygone years. The heroism of your grandfathers and fathers will never be forgotten as will not your own contemporary kindness.
Love from Canada 🍁 We have quite a few people of Finnish origin in Northern Ontario which, with its abundance of lakes and forests, resembles Finland a lot.

Ukrainian resistance to that despot has also helped complete Ukrainian national identity and reinforce Ukrainian self-respect. It is crucially important to stand with Ukraine and keep helping Ukraine, as a fellow democratic country. If we help defend Ukraine as a fellow democracy, if we defend its citizens and independence, we will also defend our democracies.

glad to see that Ukrainians are being welcomed into Finland with open arms so to speak considering that during the Winter war where many Finns died defending their land against conscripted Ukrianian soliders of the Soviet armies under Stalin - a rather under covered story that needs to be discussed no matter how painful the memories, in my opinion, as I continue to maintan that: Ukrainians must now face the possibility of death defending their land against Russia or risk again being conscripted as little Russians to fight in Putin's further wars of Russian imperialist expansion and pacifying its neighbours at a latter date where they risk being sent in "Russian meat wave attacks"
    Rus exercitum delenda est!

Many ukraineans speak russian primarily. Depending from where they are and how they grew up.
So, a finn is not able to tell - if a person is russian or ukrainean. Better to not judge a person based on the language.

It's interesting that only russians still thinks like imperialists. They often talking how Poland will take part of Ukraine and Hungary will take some part.
The era of empires are over, getting territories with several millions people that will hate your country won't benefit you. Main resources today are people and ideas, not slaves and lands. Every country can easily buy things from another, you don't need to occupy lands to get their product, just buy it.

Finland had to fight off Russia at least TWICE to gain and retain its independence.
"just keep pokung the bear, and you will see that your "friends" will sell you in a heartbeat!"?
Typical Russian exercise in projecting Russian attitudes onto other countries where they simply do NOT fit.
"once situation drastically changes Finland becoming Swedish province or teritory divided by Sweden and Russia is not off the table"?
