I pinned this and wanted to add - Gamegenic responded to another comment that their inner sleeves WILL fit in a Slide Case - so you can put a GAMEGENIC inner sleeve on your showcase and put it on the side of your Deck Pod safely!!
You've thought of everything, except for 1 essential accessory. Binder! Would be great if we could have a SWU 4x4 binder to store our master sets and/or collections.
@@MaindeckGames Do you have to/should you double sleeve? I'm making my 1st deck for organized play at my local store this week. This will be my 1st time playing with anyone that's not a friend or relative of in organized play and I wanna make sure I'm ready to go. Also a deck recommendation would be cool. I'm thinking ether double red Sabine or yellow/green Boba. I would love a double blue Luke deck, but idk if that'd be competitive...Luke is one of my favorite characters.
I keep saying: I'm not an accessories person. Sleeves, and that's it. But the full court press from Gamegenic is really bringing me around. I'm feeling sold.
This is my First TCG and I can not express how much fun it has been building decks and playing with people in person. So cool that you are doing give aways too. I have never used their products before but after seeing them at the Pre-Release im super excited to get ahold of the tokens and deck pods.
The gamegenic boxes are really cool but are $40 in canada so can't justify that unfortunately. The more I see of this game, the more excited I get. I don't think it will start out very popular but the fun gsmeplay combined with really exciting card variety in packs makes me think it has big potential. Can't wait for my prerelease event on Saturday.
This is how to review card game accessories, hands on and showing exactly how the user would use the product. Thank you very much for sharing! I haven’t used Gamegenic accessories yet, but every review I have seen sings their praises 😊
Thank you so much for mentioning that the soft crates will hold a 80 sleeved cards twin suns deck! I was desperately trying to find this information to buy one with artwork matching my leaders
The clear hardcase on the side of the Deck Pod is a slide together case not a snap together case. The Dragon Shield perfect fit sleeves will fit inside with a card. The Gamegenic perfect fits should also work with them as well but I havent tried that yet. Some perfect fit sleeves are thicker than others. I have found Dragon Shield inner sleeves are the thinnest on the market. Enjoy!
great review! very thorough. i have heard a lot of great things about gamegenic but have not used their products yet. my birthday is coming up close to the release of Star War Unlimited TCG so i might try out some of their product. the gaming tokens look the most appealing to me, but the sleeves and boxes look really solid. thank you for your review.
Gamegenic quickly became my goto for accessories when I picked up a few of their magnetic deck boxes for storing LCG cards during campaigns. All of them are so well made and look great. Their sleeves were a nice surprise too. Glad to see the SWU boxes continue the trend. Definitely getting a double. Thanks for the in depth video!
I have honestly never used any GameGenic accessories before. But this game has made me start looking at their products as they look so so nice, not only for this game but their other products as well
Hello! My first experience with Gamegenic was just yesterday, when I participated in the Prerelease for SWU! I used the matts, sleeves and tokens, and they really all do have a feel of quality to them. The tokens for sure are very nice to use! Thank you for the chance to win this giveaway!
Thanks for the great review video! I've been using several different types of Gamegenic deck boxes for my MTG Commander decks and just love the feel and functionality of them. I was so excited when I found out Gamegenic was going to be releasing SWU products! After watching this review I can't to pick up my accessories at the prerelease!
I've been using Gamegenic since I got back into the hobby in 2021 and have not been disappointed with their deck boxes, binders, and slide cases (which is what is included with the deck pods, they don't really snap together.) Their prime sleeves aren't *as* good as the rest of the line imo, but they are a few dollars cheaper than the best quality sleeves and they do well for a limited setting like drafts or sealed deck.
Thank you for the video. I’ve had the Games lair 600+ with a Squire 100+xl convertible and multiple of the Bastion 100+xl deck boxes for a few years now and they are high quality items. I love Gamegenic products because I know they are quality.
Been using GameGenic accessories for a lot of my games now for about 2+ years. I love the quality and accessibility of the products! Super excited for the SWU products! The only thing I don't like are the GameGenic Marvel Champion sleeves as they scratch very easily. I hope the SWU ones aren't like that but they're still good quality just when shuffled a lot they get a strange scratchy look to the front.
I’ve been using GameGenic board game sleeves for several years and have enjoyed their quality. These accessories look so good and are going to enhance the game so much. Also. Fantastic video! Well spoken and good quality.
As an LGS employee, I've had a ton of experience using Gamegenic accessories, and I love them! I use them personally and I recommend them to our customers. Personally, I like their sleeves and their card lair deck box!
I've used several of Gamegenic's deckboxes and they've all been great. Stronghold's been a great 2-deck box. The Sidekick has a useful "lean" feature that prevents your sideboard from tipping over while remaining in your box. And for Bastions I've been finding the "card pile holder" feature great for large deck games, keeping it from sliding apart.
I got into Gamegenic's accessories on black friday of '23. I saw some matte sleeves on sales and fell in love. I've already preordered a deck pod and double deck pod when Star Wars Unlimited releases. So excited!
Thanks for the honest review. I haven't used a ton of gamegenic products in the past but Im looking forward to trying these out. The deck pods are awesome and really looking forward to that.
I've used Gamegenic sleeves deckboxes for all of my deck building and TCG games. Always a plus when a product is easily accessible and not having to worry about your sleeves not matching up.
I haven’t tried out their playmats but I mostly exclusively use their Matte Finish Card Sleeves. It used to be their Clear ones but once Matte came around, I never went back. They do offer other great products so I do recommend people try them out! Thanks for the video review! I picked up a couple of soft crates and one of those pods 😎
Only used their Prime sleeves as of now and love them but have a deck pod , the SWU tokens and a game mat incoming 🎉 They really crushed it with the accessories for this game!
I've never tried gamegenic stuff but I was already eyeing up the tokens, they really do look nice while being genuinely useful. Great work on the STU content.
I have a Gamegenic watchtower deck case, and it is hands down the finest deck case product I have ever had. Nothing else comes close to the thoughtful design, high quality materials, and durability. I really like their sleeves too I want to eventually get all the SWU deck pods in all the colors.
Thanks for the excellent video Dan and attention to details. Im jumping head first into this new Star Wars Unlimited game after being out of the card scene for years. Can't wait to try out all these new Gamegenic products as well!
I have several GameGenic deckboxes and I really like them. One of my favorite is the Games’ Lair that I use to hold several commander decks that I carry with me every time I play.
Recently picked up my first Gamegenic deck box to be used for magic and can say it’s definitely one of the higher quality ones I’ve ever used! Excited to use the Gamegenic Altered sleeves when that releases too!
Accessories home run. Only missing a binder/bulk storage solution to the line up. Liking those soft boxes honestly. But yeah the deck pods I've seen and handled and they're so nice indeed !!!
I'm also a Gamegenic fan, they always seem to put lots of thought into their products and about what people could need. I've already tried the Matte Prime Sleeves, and they are pretty good and easy to shuffle. But thanks to your review, I will try the normal Prime Sleeves next time, so my foils can shine a bit more :) Thanks for the video!
Thanks for showcasing the accessories! I've never played a TCG but I've already got some booster boxes ordered and ready to play some Star Wars Unlimited.
For deck boxes and binders I am a big GameGenic fan and is what I almost exclusively use for my MTG decks. I have a Dungeon 1100+, token keep, several Sidekick 100+ and 100+ XL boxes, and the Bastion 100+ XL deck boxes. All of the GameGenic products have been of very high quality. However for sleeves I am partial to Dragon Shield and they fit very nicely in the GameGenic boxes.
Been using their clear sleeves , especially the tarot ones and find them to have been quite good. Using bastion boxes for a bunch of games where I don't want to spend on a fancier box. The token boxes have been ok, but i prefer something that size with dividers. I've picked up packs of the slide cases where I want a hard shell but something that still fits in the deck box overall, satsified so far. Just becasue of ease of availability, I may move over to their boxes and zip folders as UG has been harder to find locally lately.
Really excited for this game. Ive never been able to use gamegenic accessories before but I saw that my local store has become a partner with them and will have the deck pods on release. Their products look really nice and I hope they proforme as good as they look.
Personally, I am a huge fan of Gamegenic. I utilize their binders (both 4 pocket and 3 pocket) for a lot of my storage needs whether its holding master sets for sports cards or trading cards or accessories needed for league/OP. I was so excited to see that SWU partnered with Gamegenic and the products I have seen look incredible! Super excited to see what else is in store.
I really appreciate the review. I use game genie deck boxes for all my card gaming needs. I haven’t used their sleeves much but I love both their more premium deck boxes and cheaper bastion deck boxes.
I’ve had limited experience with gamegenic. My cousins have used them for quite a while for MTG. Always impressed by their quality but not cheap. This is my first TCG when Unlimited releases. I’m personally excited for the single pod. Looks great holds all the game components, and while the acrylic looks great, it’s not $30 great in my personal opinion.
I haven't had the chance to use these accesories yet until SWU releases. I only had the chance to play the demo game with the tokens and really liked it. It's also my first time really getting into a tcg and following it since the beginning. And as i said i'm new to this experience and just want the best for my cards especially for those who could be valueable to me. This video also helped me understanding the products and some of the terms used in the tcg community.
I transitioned to Gamegenic clear sleeves for board games when they discontinued the FFG sleeves. They have been great overall. I'm definitely looking forward to getting some of these SWU based accessories! I tell everyone that asks about them that they somehow found a way to get people to spend more on accessories than the product itself!
Bought Gamegenic for Magic sleeves once upon a time because they were less spendy than the alternatives my LGS was offering. Wasn't expecting quality and was pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. You'll feel good playing with these.
First time TCG player! This was helpful. The Gamegenic deck boxes look awesome! Definitely need to get my hands on the Gamegenic tokens too. Thanks for the great content, Dan!
I've always wanted to get into a TCG but never found the right one for me. I think this is going to be the one! Thanks for sharing all the accessories. I've never used any Gamegenic products but I'm definitely going to be ordering some soon and I'm very much looking forward to playing more at release events this weekend!
My first experience with GameGenic stuff was with Keyforge sleeves and deck boxes a few years ago. Their sleeve quality was pretty disappointing, but their deck boxes were always quality. But it's been pretty exciting to see their evolution since then, and even their sleeves have gotten a lot better since my first experience. Can't wait to play SWU and try out their new stuff! Great video!
My experience with Gamegenic accessories has been great so far. Their Keyforge deckbooks and deckboxes were fantastic. I also really like their sleeves because they shuffle great and I feel like they come in at a great value for their quality/price. It helps that I've been able to get that at some solid discounts here and there.
Star Wars Unlimited is going to be my first foray into playing a card game at my local game store rather than at my kitchen table. I am excited to get my hands on some these products. I'm a sucker for organization. The tokens seems really nice and would definitely help me keep my head on straight when playing. I have used some Gamegenic sleeves in the past for Star Wars Shatterpoint and Kingdom Death Monster and like them a lot.
I was a solid user of FFG supply back in the day before the changes there. I switched over to Gamegenic after that for sleeves and I have been very pleased. I will say, those tokens and playmats look great! Very excited to see more these around and looking forward to getting my hands on some.
Can’t say I’ve had a chance to use any Gamegenic products before, but these look great! The Vader playmat is definitely a must have for me at some point. Thanks for going over these!
Appreciate your honesty! Been using their zip binders and didn’t even realize they made the life counter I’ve had for a while. Always had a soft spot for them because they made Marvel Champions products. Cannot wait to get my hands on this stuff for SWU!
When I first hopped back into the TCG space last year with BSS I saw my LGS had some white GameGenic sleeves for cheaper than dragon shield, so I grabbed them. Very much enjoyed them, and ended up buying many more sleeves from them as well as a binder. Solid products for sure!
I have been quite impressed with their sleeves, more than I thought I would, but where they really have me is with their deck boxes! So Good! I love their Games' Lair 600+! Such a great accessory!
I used to be solely dragonshield sleeves and ultimate guard for everything. When Grand Archive came out and then the Lord of the Rings mtg set, I started using the Gamegenics premium deck boxes more based off my LGS recommendations. Over the past year I've fallen in love with them so much my entire Universus My Hero decks are in the 50+ Bastions, stored in the Dungeon. I've recently started using their matt sleeves as well and am really impressed by the quality for the price. Overall I can say I'm a believer.
I have never played a TCG ever, but SW Unlimited looks great and loving the accessories that GG have done for the set! Hoping to pick up a few of these, the deck boxes and playmats are my fav items
Great review! For the Giveaway: I have not had a chance to use gamegenic products yet as I am bew to TCGs, but i am really exited to see the premium tokens, soft crate deck box, and probably a two player game mat with the hyperspace art. I just hope that the game store near me will be able to get them soon because it is small. I am super pumped for star wars unlimited!
I've typically used Dragonshields, especially since they released the Dual Mattes, but I picked up a pack of GameGenic sleeves about a year ago when my LGS was out of DS, and they've quickly become something I'm using regularly, especially for duel deck-type things where I want to store cards sleeved and keep them that way long term with minimal upkeep. They've impressed me a lot !
Big fan of Gamegenic accessories. As someone who goes for high quality accessories with most every game I play or collect, they hit the mark for me more often than not. I appreciate your honesty about the full range of SWU products. I have to agree that the outer sleeves really miss the mark for the actual purpose of double sleeving. Super pumped for those deck pods though!
Left MtG back in the Ice Age days, so I have not had the chance to use Gamegenics products, but I am really excited for their products and Star Wars Unlimited. Going to 2 different pre-release events and cant wait! Great review!
Just recently picked up a gamegenic card binder. I really like the side loading pages. Been using the old 9 card plastic top load sleeves in a normal binder for years. Helps keeps the cards in place. Excited for this game and trying the new Vader sleeves, no dragon sleeves for these decks.
I’m only familiar with some of Gamegenic’s sleeves. But the product reviews in the video have me excited to buy a game mat, soft crate or deck pod, and definitely the premium tokens! Thanks for the video!
I am very happy with my stronghold boxes. I have five of them and used them last weekend to take a lot of LOTR lcg card to Lure of Middle Earth. No worries all about my cards, cause those are as sturdy as can be. Also used the token boxes in there to store all my homemade tokens. I furthermore have sleeved my entire Arkham horror and LOTR lcg collections in gamegenic value sleeves and stored them in small deckboxes, labelled them and put it in 7 dungeon boxes. The value sleeves on all these encounter cards actually shuffle better then my dragon shields which I use for player cards. So overall quite happy with my gamegenic products. 😊 Thanks for your work, Dan. Love your videos for Altered as well.
Gamegenic is the last big brand I have tried and is by far my favorite brand for accessories. I wish I had discovered them sooner. I feel like the sizes that they make their storage solutions and deck boxes in general allows for a lot of possibilities for various games to be stored in outside of "The Big 3 TCGs", which I feel like most brands cater towards. Very excited for the collabs with Altered and Star Wars unlimited (although I will be probably exclusively on the Altered train as soon as it releases)! I'm planning on using Gamegenic Token Keeps for Altered, which seem to fit 40+ Double sleeved cards really well and are really stylish, secure, and available for around $10 or less. Seems like a great compact solution.
Currently use a Gamegenic Watchtower for my Lorcana decks and its fantastic! These SWU tokens seem essential if you are playing alot, definitely looking to pick up a set or two.
I kickstarted the professors academic deck box and absolutely love it! I use it for flesh and blood and it’s just perfect! I’m very excited to see what they have lined up for both Star Wars unlimited and Altered tcg!
For the raffle: I don't own any Gamegenic gear yet, but I'm backing Altered for the Legendary Gamegenic Pack, they've been cooking with all the amazing accessories!!! Hey Dan, I hopped over from your last Fleeting Thoughts episode after getting curious about SWU. Altered is the first TCG that got me hooked, and the similarities in turn pace and mana pooling lead me to believe SWU would be a shoe-in, too. Now I gotta watch you cover them both ^^'. On the whole, I'm loving the content, hyping up the community and doing give-aways to share the joy! I'm psyched to see what you'll do in Q4 for the Altered gear, but I won't try to snag those, don't worry ;)
Hey, I am happy to hear that! If Gamegenic sends me more goodies, don't worry, everyone is always welcome to enter to win them! Hope you enjoy SWU if you check it out as well. I'm convinced those are the two best new TCGs in 2024. Both are phenomenal play experiences that I can't get enough of!
I’m newer to card games but i did buy a Gamegenic deck box about a month ago and it’s so nice. There products really are premium. Can’t wait for those deck pods 🥳
Thanks for the overview on the double sleeve pack. I thought I would use those but I think I’ll go with the single sleeve packs instead. The art sleeves will be perfect for the starters to introduce the game to people.
I haven't had any experience with gamegenic products as I've used dragonshield for sleeves and ultimate guard for deck boxes. However, as I'm diving into both Star Wars Unlimited and Altered, I've honestly been intrigued by gamegenic's accessories. If these products are as good as I hope they are, they just might force me to switch to them entirely. Can't wait to try them out soon!
Nice review of the Gamegenic products. I don't use them currently since this is the first time I heard of this brand of products, and I usually buy the Ultimate Guard Katana sleeves instead since they last a long time (had decks in this sleeves for my TCGs and/or board games for over a year and they still haven't worn out yet) and hard plastic deck boxes from Ultra Pro (they also last a long time, are a good price, and I can't afford the leather deck boxes with bell and whistle features easily.) I'll keep my eye on their products in the future if I see them, especially if a game store near me starts selling the TCGs you mention in the future.
I have yet to experience any of gamegenics accessories personally, but thank you for this in depth review and for putting their products on my radar. Those tokens are so cool!
Haven’t used any Gamegenic products yet but everyone around me does and they look like super high quality products! Also these Star Wars branded supplies are making SWU so much more hype!
I exclusively use GameGenic Prime Clear Sleeves for storing my tcg collection, the value is unmatched. In my opinion, GameGenic is S tier with tcg accessories, which I also use the Academic XL for my LGS gaming events. I am so excited they are making products for SWU and Altered 🙂
I've been looking at Gamegenic accessories for a while but since I'm just getting back into the hobby with SWU, I'm def looking forward to acquire and try some of these deck boxes!
I use Gamegenic ‘Just Sleeves’ as my go-to for most of my cards along with their dice tray. I know these are not the most “premium” sleeves, but I love the way they shuffle and they do a great job for me. I hope to get my hands on some of these SWU accessories.
Ive never tried gamegenic accessories but The double pod is a beauty im returning to tcg after many years and this one hyped me. Ive been in a couple of demo days already have my preorders and cant wait to have them in my hands.
I've always been into digital card games since nobody in my friend group plays TCGs but i am diving into SWU and super excited to try it out and use these awesome looking Gamegenic products!!!
I like GameGenic Premium deckboxes. I never used other products, but these deckboxes are really well made. And I love what they did for SWU and Altered, great accessories !
I love my gamegenic stronghold for bigger events when I need to carry extra tokens and other bits and bobs, but my fav gamegenic products lately have been their new rpg and d6 dice sets. The galaxy series and the glitter series both look and feel amazing🎉
Great video! I have been SO impressed with GameGenic products. Everything they make is so high quality and well thought out. Feeling really lucky that we get so many SWU products from them.
Only having some general soft crates and they're ok. They're serving their purpose. Preordered some SWU playmats and token sets, they look nice. Premium deck boxes look really nice but the price was a bit too much.
Thank you Dan for the video - and thank you to everyone in the comments for sharing your experiences with our products! 😍
I pinned this and wanted to add - Gamegenic responded to another comment that their inner sleeves WILL fit in a Slide Case - so you can put a GAMEGENIC inner sleeve on your showcase and put it on the side of your Deck Pod safely!!
Updated with a Short showing it!

I've been using Gamegenic 18 pocket binders as my Digimon master set binders. Love the sturdiness and the clarity of the plastic that holds the cards.

Been using the Gamegenic sleeves on Legion and Shatterpoint for a few years and have always enjoyed them!
I love having cool accessories! I've been using a couple of their deck boxes and token boxes, but I can't WAIT for the SWU accessories!
First time TCG player! This was helpful. The Gamegenic deck boxes look awesome! Definitely need to get my hands on the Gamegenic tokens too. Thanks for the great content, Dan!
Hope they are more hard wearing than the Gamegenic Marvel Champions branded sleeves.
They marked up really bad after a couple of shuffles.
Never used a Gamegenics product or played a TCG before, SW Unlimited is my first one! The Deck pod is definitely the item I'm most excited about.
Great video! I've really liked Gamegenic's sleeves when playing other TCGs - they're high quality at an affordable price.
Awesome review video, I personally haven't gotten a chance to try any Gamegenic accessories but definitely will be at least wanting to try the tokens.
Nice review! Heading to a release event this coming Sunday. Can't wait!
Thank you so much for providing this great review
I used their products for Star War DBG and they're great! Nice and smooth feel. Makes shuffling good as well.
Haven't used gamegenic supplies but I'm most interested in the various playmats. Glad they are doing versions with and without the zones
Great review! I haven't used a lot of Gamegenic products in the past but I'm excited to try out some of the SWU accessories!
Thanks for the thorough review. Never used Gamegenic products before but have several items preordered for SWU. Can’t wait!
A little late for the contest but got my Double Deck Pod in the mail today. Just wanted to say I am super pleased with the quality of it.
Having demoed SWU a couple times, absolutely love the Tokens and sleeves....and the deck pod looks fantastic,😀
I have already pre-ordered the two player hyperspace mat. So excited. I've also used their stuff for Marvel Champions and can't wait to get more.
Only having some general soft crates and they're ok. They're serving their purpose. Preordered some SWU playmats and token sets, they look nice. Premium deck boxes look really nice but the price was a bit too much.
