Hoenn is my favorite region/gen. Just about every town/city has a charm to it that really makes them stand out. The art direction of gen 3 certainly helps this too. Time to download an emulator and play through Emerald again...

I am actually playing through emerald for the first time and i found the Corsola NPC. I tried fishing for corsola and ended up checking the wikis and no.
You CANNOT find corsola anywhere near the town which is so weird. You can only find it when fishing on the route surrounding sutopolis and in ever grand city.
This is the one place I would want to have a weather themed gym.

So basically this is Yellow Rock Isle from Johto anime Whirl Island arc
I always felt that the Pokémon centre seemed so out of place in that town, it is such an eye sore when everything else blends in so well with the surroundings. Fortree City is kind of the same although it's not as bad as it's just built off the side from the city like it was built long after the fact people settled and built their homes in the tree's of Fortree City. The fact that Pacifidlog Town is built in the ocean above a coral reef is fascinating to me but I also can't help but wonder what might happen if a group Mareanie happens upon the bottom of that town and start nibbling away at the poor Corsola 😢
That would be a tragedy.
They can import some Bruxish for defense, maybe...?
Gen 3 had a way of making me wish I could go to Hoenn and just sit there. Thanks for the great video they alway drop for members just when I get to work and it’s a good way to start the day.

It would be so cool if you could dive under the town and maybe loom at the corsola
4:35 the hoenn in game trade actually have enhanced contest stats. corsola have enhanced beauty stats so if you dont feel like feeding pokeblocks on your pokemon, you can just make this trade and use the corsola for beauty contest. so not totally useless

I always LOVED watching videos of people visiting this place in their Gen 3 LPs when I was younger. Getting to see it for myself in 2014 with Alpha Sapphire's release was wonderful. :)
Seafolk Village in Alola ESPECIALLY struck me. I just love when Pokemon goes full-in with incorporating ecology into the world!

Actually, despite the awesome story-flavor of the town being on a colony of Corsola, you can't catch Corsola while fishing here, or even in near-by areas, even in the remakes. Corsola can be found by fishing on Route 128 and EverGrande City (which are right next to each other) using a super rod in the GBA games, and only on Route 128 in the remakes. I remember playing Emerald as a kid and trying to fish for Corsola in Pacifidlog Town but never getting one, so learning you can't is insane.
Speaking of Emerald, the trade you make changes there from Ruby and Sapphire. Instead of trading a Bellossom to get a Corsola, you trade a Bagon for Horsea, which for some reason also changes the mail it's holding and the person you trade with. I'm actually not sure which trade is worse, because while it's probably easier to get multiple Bagon than multiple Bellossom, Bagon cannot be obtained until very late in the game through use of waterfall in Meteor Falls, so you may be completely unable to get this pokemon when you reach the person to trade. Not only that, but while Horsea can't be fished for in Pacifidlog Town, it can be fished for in the adjoining Route 132, as well as 133 and 134, so it's actually more local than Corsola.
Ok, just had to add that information, I think you covered everything else. I love the videos discussing the Gen 3 games, there was so much to them that just doesn't feel the same in later Gens.
