It's so weird! I'm an old man in the north of Europe and I have absolutely nothing in common with these Japanese women's, other than I used to be en a band once. Still, I feel more connected to them than the bands of old friends I used to play with. On top of it all, I'm so proud over what Miku has achieved, although I have absolutely nothing to do with it. They made me love music again when I had forgotten how fun music could be, and I'm so grateful! All B-M fans knows the names of all the Maids. How many bands that you like can you say that about? How can you be in a bad mood when listening or seeing them? They really do make the world a better place!
It's not so weird. I'm an old man from Brooklyn, New York and I have nothing in common with these wonderful ladies either, but after seeing them live three times I do feel a connection that I will treasure as long as I live. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't be happier after seeing them perform and listen to their music. That is the real magic spell. They brought back to life what was once gone and forgotten. There is nothing phony or ego-driven about them, it's about their music and their fans and they work as a team where everyone gets a chance to shine. What counts most is that their music makes you feel good, it's just that simple. And have a Merry Christmas my friend.
When Miku cut her leg on a glass, the band members became scared that she might actually be cursed. It is the job of Japanese shrines to exorcise curses, so they all earnestly asked Miku to go to the shrine and have her exorcise them.

The most adorable thing I witnessed at a Band-Maid serving was MISA's magic time! I saw them in Otaru in 2023 on MISA's birthday and she took over magic time while Miku looked on with appreciation (and guzzling champagne). MISA was so shy and cute my heart broke!

I saw Band-Maid once live (Hamburg, 2019) and the Magic Spell Time was comedic gold! 🤣🤣🤣 Miku called out a Master in a very stern but also very cute way for not Moe-Moeing loud enough. Kanami told Miku when she was complaining about something " to suck it up buttercup" by saying Katahaba (broad shoulders). Miku tried to talk herself out of it, because she believes she is a small pigeon.
Miku is an inspiration to many. Love the small pigeon. In Afrikaans, just like in Japanese, we don't have a seperate word for pigeon. She would be die klein duifie which translates as the little dove... Peace
Great reaction guys !!!! I've been to 3 Omajinai Times, in NYC and New Jersey in 2022 and Nashville in 2023 and each one was different. Miku is charming and lively and NEVER stops during a performance, she is always going. If you really want to see cute, one of Band Maid's last shows in 2023 was in Salt Lake City, and a very special thing happened. Unbeknownst to the band, a fan attending the show brought their daughter, aged about 6 or 7, dressed as a maid and brought her up to the stage, where she had Miku almost in tears. Miku had the girl help her with her chants, and the crowd went wild !!!! And it also says a lot about the band if a fan is willing to bring their child to the show. Just put "Band Maid - Miku Mini Me - Salt Lake City 2023" and it will pop up.
Although it's not stated in the film, Miku is indeed the boss. She is the manager, promoter and negotiator of the group. This was especially evident if you watch the behind the scenes film of the collaboration that the Warning made. She manages the group's finances, and even the personal accounts of all the girls. They trusted her with their wallets, I read this in an interview.
This is why Saiki complains when Miku seems like an airhead - immediately says "I don't know" to a question or forgets things or the like. Saiki is like, "You're too smart to act that stupid!"

La Gringa, I love your Maid outfit and the Poinsetta is a perfect touch. As Miku says, "Omajanai Time" is most important part of okyu-ji!". Every concert has its own special time. Everytime I see Miku during Omajanai Time, I think if Miku were an American teenage High-schooler, she would be head cheerleader, class president, valedictorian, and voted "most likely to succeed".
Miku is a force of nature and as you said an amazing role model for anyone. bandmaid live is incredible experience and you will no doubt meet many of the awesome fans from all over the world. and if you find time when in japan i recommend Toranoko Rammy as a must see band live .
I watched the Japan In Motion video series with Miku in them. Her natural willingness to try anything new and interesting, made her the perfect celebrity host for the series. The village with thatched roofs you saw on her video was a historic village near Mount Fuji. During the show Miku also explored underground fissures from lava flows. She also dressed up as a samurai warrior and then joked that she would lose the battle in ten seconds. One of the funniest outtakes from the videos was her doing the "loach dance" in a specific costume that loach fisherman wear with another loach fisherman. She couldn't help but start giggling during the dance.
Thanks you guys, its been a journey for sure, as i've probably said before, she is a pidgeon to be reckoned with, (do what the pidgeon says and no one gets hurt) not only weapons grade cuteness but a mind like a steel trap, and even though she doesnt say it she is the boss Maid, Japanese culture dictates its your job to remember it, not her job to remind you. Got a little story for you relating to that statement, on tour in the U.S. (dont remember the exact gig) but they were getting ready to start up again after an M.C. every one geared up Kanami hit a chord and nothing happened for the rest of them (not an equipment problem) no drum intro, Akane stood up behind her kit and held up the cord she had forgotten to plug in for her click track, the others started laughing, not Miku, she just looked at her, Akane came out from her kit, dropped to her knees and bowed to Miku, Miku said 1 word (you could hear it plain) MISTAKE, Akane went back and after Sai-chan, MISA and Mincho quit laughing the Okuji started back up. I have no idea if I'm alone in this (I have a feeling that I'm not), but how often does it happen that you adore a band almost as much for the people who are in it as for the music? 🤔 Normally not so often, right? ... Such a great reaction from you both! I love that you are paying such close attention to these documentories. This little woman is in reality a giant! Her drive, creativity, talent, humor, love for what she is doing, and also her radiating cuteness is a testament to how to use all you have and have learned to overcome what might keep you from what you want to accomplish! Add to this that she has done all this in a society that is male dominated, so I'm sure that at times her determination must have been immense to get herself and Band Maid to where they are. This is a little pigeon with thhe heart of a whale. I am so, so thankful for this heart of hers, because she has given the world such an incredible gift with music and Band Maid. She will forever be in my heart for this. Now that you have finished this series, do realize there are other smaller videos out there of Band Maid. One that used to be on You Tube was of the behind the scenes events of their tour of the US in 2022. It was about an hour, but I cannot seem to locate it anymore. Maybe someone else could point it out to you if you wish to see it. I found it also fascinating and was amazed to find that they traveled across the entire nation by bus and not plane. They lived together on that bus for what must have been at least two months. I did also notice that when they came to Salt Lake in 2023 the bus was still there. Anyway, Thanks to being able to revisit these with you both. You made it so enjoyable and we got to revisit our own 1st times through your great reactions. I've watched these excellent documentaries several times and also some reactions. Today, late on Xmas Eve, I thought some heartwarming viewing was required so I watched your reactions to all 3 parts of Ohrenje's 'Miku' documentary. I wasn't disappointed. Great appreciation and empathy shown. Great to feel part of a community spirit rare in life. All fans of this impossible band soon feel themselves part of something deeper than just an appreciation of the fantastic music. Thanks for the reaction. Hope you guys get to see Band Maid while you're in Japan, or if they play near to you. I'm really hoping that they tour the US again in 2025. Even if I have to fly out again to see them! Ooh you gotta do more Cluppo! Especially Peace & Love and Pogo (my fave)! I've said it before, Miku could've easily been a popstar had she really wanted to!

Apart from Miku, the costumes of the other members are becoming less and less MAID-like, but there is no doubt that she will continue to wear kawaii costumes no matter how good she gets at guitar. That's because she is the symbol of BAND-MAID and their spiritual pillar. P.S. Gringa-san, The poinsettia instead of red rose are very Christmasy and lovely.😘

Just a quick note, if you watch Miku on stage she's wearing pretty high platform shoes (she's pretty short) and my wife loved those shoes back in the 70's when they were very popular, but she also twisted her ankle as those shoes are also pretty dangerous. I'm not surprised that Miku runs into things if she's wearing those shoes all the time (my wife was also nearsighted and always walking into things). Have a great holiday and watch out for all those crazy snowbirds.

16:59 The winner had a full house (three of a kind + a pair) to Miku's two pair. I'd be flipping tables. My acquaintance in Japan who just performed with Asami of LOVEBITES during her solo show has told me that the "middle-aged man" thing is a common way for Japanese women to say they're not like other girls, kind of like how Americans use the word "tomboy." That's not exact, but it's in a similar spirit. Also, I've seen Miku say that one other thing the maids in the cafes do is sing to the milkshakes while they're being blended because that makes them "extra tasty." I'd try it, but my milkshakes only bring boys to the yard and I don't want that. Similar to Miku Day, November 11 is referred to as Bass Day among Japanese musicians because 11 - 11 (1111) resemble the strings of a bass. The maids are the reason my handle is PaleHorseShabuShabu. There's an interview on TH-cam where the maids go through Miku's hometown, and at the end, they eat horse shabu shabu. When youtube made us switch from screen names to handles, I added ShabuShabu because of that video. Lastly, I've seen B-M twice in Japan with ones of those being the show with The Warning. The Warning, mostly Dany, did omajinai time with Miku. It was great and can partly be seen in the behind-the-scenes video posted on The Warning's channel.
during magic time in Nashville the other members wandered up to the bowling lanes and threw some of the best gutter balls in history. i think there might be a video of that on yt somewhere.
So much in this video! So... Bullet points. lol At the start you were talking about the behind the music stuff from back in the day. Made me remember my addiction to pop up video. lol Watched those all the time. Magic time with Miku is always entertaining. Some of the best non-music stuff with Band-Maid is Miku doing here thing during magic time. Anyone else notice MISA banging her face against the Miku "SAY!" towel during that part? I forget the circumstances, but there are towels with Miku's shouting face drawn on it, with the quote "SAY!" on it, to tease Miku. Highly recommend reacting to the episodes of Japan in Motion with Miku. They are well worth a watch. During Cluppo, Miku does a unique version of the heart sign in the "Peace and Love" video. And when The Warning met Band-Maid for the first time back stage (I think it was Lalapolza?) they greeted Band-Maid with that version of the heart sign, which told me right away that they are true fans of Band-Maid, and know their stuff. SO many anime openings and endings by Band-Maid. I wonder how much influence Akane had i making that happen. lol Miku is an inspiration, Po!

La Gringa, I love your Maid outfit and the Poinsetta is a perfect touch. As Miku says, "Omajanai Time" is most important part of okyu-ji!". Every concert has its own special time. Everytime I see Miku during Omajanai Time, I think if Miku were an American teenage High-schooler, she would be head cheerleader, class president, valedictorian, and voted "most likely to succeed".

Miku is a force of nature and as you said an amazing role model for anyone. bandmaid live is incredible experience and you will no doubt meet many of the awesome fans from all over the world. and if you find time when in japan i recommend Toranoko Rammy as a must see band live .
I watched the Japan In Motion video series with Miku in them. Her natural willingness to try anything new and interesting, made her the perfect celebrity host for the series. The village with thatched roofs you saw on her video was a historic village near Mount Fuji. During the show Miku also explored underground fissures from lava flows. She also dressed up as a samurai warrior and then joked that she would lose the battle in ten seconds. One of the funniest outtakes from the videos was her doing the "loach dance" in a specific costume that loach fisherman wear with another loach fisherman. She couldn't help but start giggling during the dance.

Thanks you guys, its been a journey for sure, as i've probably said before, she is a pidgeon to be reckoned with, (do what the pidgeon says and no one gets hurt) not only weapons grade cuteness but a mind like a steel trap, and even though she doesnt say it she is the boss Maid, Japanese culture dictates its your job to remember it, not her job to remind you. Got a little story for you relating to that statement, on tour in the U.S. (dont remember the exact gig) but they were getting ready to start up again after an M.C. every one geared up Kanami hit a chord and nothing happened for the rest of them (not an equipment problem) no drum intro, Akane stood up behind her kit and held up the cord she had forgotten to plug in for her click track, the others started laughing, not Miku, she just looked at her, Akane came out from her kit, dropped to her knees and bowed to Miku, Miku said 1 word (you could hear it plain) MISTAKE, Akane went back and after Sai-chan, MISA and Mincho quit laughing the Okuji started back up. Such a great reaction from you both! I love that you are paying such close attention to these documentories. This little woman is in reality a giant! Her drive, creativity, talent, humor, love for what she is doing, and also her radiating cuteness is a testament to how to use all you have and have learned to overcome what might keep you from what you want to accomplish! Add to this that she has done all this in a society that is male dominated, so I'm sure that at times her determination must have been immense to get herself and Band Maid to where they are. This is a little pigeon with thhe heart of a whale. I am so, so thankful for this heart of hers, because she has given the world such an incredible gift with music and Band Maid. She will forever be in my heart for this. Now that you have finished this series, do realize there are other smaller videos out there of Band Maid. One that used to be on You Tube was of the behind the scenes events of their tour of the US in 2022. It was about an hour, but I cannot seem to locate it anymore. Maybe someone else could point it out to you if you wish to see it. I found it also fascinating and was amazed to find that they traveled across the entire nation by bus and not plane. They lived together on that bus for what must have been at least two months. I did also notice that when they came to Salt Lake in 2023 the bus was still there. Anyway, Thanks to being able to revisit these with you both. You made it so enjoyable and we got to revisit our own 1st times through your great reactions. Also a very, very great thanks to PolskaBob(?) for making these possible and finally to Ohrenje for all of it!!!❤

Today, late on Xmas Eve, I thought some heartwarming viewing was required so I watched your reactions to all 3 parts of Ohrenje's 'Miku' documentary. I wasn't disappointed. Great appreciation and empathy shown. Great to feel part of a community spirit rare in life. All fans of this impossible band soon feel themselves part of something deeper than just an appreciation of the fantastic music. Thanks for the reaction. Apart from Miku, the costumes of the other members are becoming less and less MAID-like, but there is no doubt that she will continue to wear kawaii costumes no matter how good she gets at guitar. That's because she is the symbol of BAND-MAID and their spiritual pillar.

Great reaction guys and thanks for watching all the documentaries. Just a quick note, if you watch Miku on stage she's wearing pretty high platform shoes (she's pretty short) and my wife loved those shoes back in the 70's when they were very popular, but she also twisted her ankle as those shoes are also pretty dangerous. I'm not surprised that Miku runs into things if she's wearing those shoes all the time (my wife was also nearsighted and always walking into things). Have a great holiday and watch out for all those crazy snowbirds.
I have both Hattofull and the Band Maiko and they're both worth it.

My acquaintance in Japan who just performed with Asami of LOVEBITES during her solo show has told me that the "middle-aged man" thing is a common way for Japanese women to say they're not like other girls, kind of like how Americans use the word "tomboy." That's not exact, but it's in a similar spirit.
Also, I've seen Miku say that one other thing the maids in the cafes do is sing to the milkshakes while they're being blended because that makes them "extra tasty." I'd try it, but my milkshakes only bring boys to the yard and I don't want that.
Similar to Miku Day, November 11 is referred to as Bass Day among Japanese musicians because 11 - 11 (1111) resemble the strings of a bass.
The maids are the reason my handle is PaleHorseShabuShabu. There's an interview on TH-cam where the maids go through Miku's hometown, and at the end, they eat horse shabu shabu. When youtube made us switch from screen names to handles, I added ShabuShabu because of that video.
Lastly, I've seen B-M twice in Japan with ones of those being the show with The Warning. The Warning, mostly Dany, did omajinai time with Miku. It was great and can partly be seen in the behind-the-scenes video posted on The Warning's channel.

Magic time with Miku is always entertaining. Some of the best non-music stuff with Band-Maid is Miku doing here thing during magic time. Anyone else notice MISA banging her face against the Miku "SAY!" towel during that part? I forget the circumstances, but there are towels with Miku's shouting face drawn on it, with the quote "SAY!" on it, to tease Miku.
Highly recommend reacting to the episodes of Japan in Motion with Miku. They are well worth a watch.
During Cluppo, Miku does a unique version of the heart sign in the "Peace and Love" video. And when The Warning met Band-Maid for the first time back stage (I think it was Lalapolza?) they greeted Band-Maid with that version of the heart sign, which told me right away that they are true fans of Band-Maid, and know their stuff.
SO many anime openings and endings by Band-Maid. I wonder how much influence Akane had i making that happen. lol
