I know this is our beloved Miku's documentary, but I'm always impressed when I imagine that Kanami not only practices guitar, composes music, and also finds time to be a guitar teacher for Miku. I wish I had a tenth of that woman's dedication!
How many rock bands have three guitarists who have their own Signature models. Kanami has her PRS Kanami Signature Model. Miku has the Zemeitas "Flappy Pigeon" Signature Model, and MISA has the Black Cloud "Black Smoke" Signature bass guitar.

Old school rocker here. Listened to a whole lot of bands in my time. Band-Maid has grabbed me like no other band has before. I hope they garner all the love and appreciation they deserve!
First off ♥ yer background! Gotta ♥ how selfless & determined Miku is! I mean at 1st she felt like they needed a stronger voice for the band She coulda been like 'F it - it's my band I'm gonna be the singer', but instead she did what was best for the band & recruited Saiki Then they needed a 2nd guitarist to improve their sound & once again stepped up to learn. I can't pick a favorite maid, but Miku is the most inspirational to me by far. There's a little pigeon in my head kicking me in the ass whenever I get lazy or think of giving up on something.
At their Atlanta concert in May 2023, one of our great Maidiacs had hand towels printed out and handed out to all the fans and the band. The handtowel had Po, the atomic symbol of Polonium from the periodic table printed on it. He edited some of the words describing the element to reflect Miku's personality. When he presented the towels to the band at the beginning of the show, Miku looked at her handtowel said "Po" in an inquisitive voice, like what is this? The audience cracked up. One of the audience members explained the symbol to Saiki, who explained to Kobato what it represented. While she was taken aback, she appreciated the gesture and all the Maids hung the towels from their equipment during the show. I got one of the towels and it's one of my most precious keepsakes from the show.
Band Maid, as far as I'm concerned, is not only a National Treasure for Japan, but a World Treasure. Every one of these cute ladies is a character in their own right. MIKU, cutest Rock Star alive today. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ 😊
When you listen to Domination live, Kanami does her solo and Miku joins in it's a wall of sound. I couldn't believe how big that sounded the first time I heard it.
Miku Mondays❤❤❤❤❤ Saiki was the final member but Miku learning guitar was actually that final puzzle piece, she is the beginning and the completion to a world class band and sound🎸🤟
How can you not admire all five of these special ladies? They will never become complacent. They will always strive to improve. They will always work their asses off to be the best they can be for their fans. Discovering them right before the pandemic really made that whole shitshow so much easier to deal with. They always gave me a reason to smile.
So Band Maid was opening for The Last Rock Stars in NYC around a year ago (probably more now) and Miku's rig completely died about 2/3rds of the way through their set. She of course being Miku didn't miss a beat and still put on a great show, but you could really hear the difference with how thin they sounded without her and MISA had to work overtime to fill that space as best as she could. The video is on youtube if you search "The Last Rock Stars Concert- Band Maid Opening Act" and is a great example of why Miku is 100% necessary for Band-Maid.
The Gringa touched on the amazing part....she LEARNED on stage....in front of hundreds of people scrutinizing her every move....that pressure alone would've crushed a weaker "pigeon".....frankly.....I was at least 2 years into guitar before I felt comfortable enough to play for 2 or 3 people....let alone ON STAGE with band mates depending on me.....truly, an amazing lil pigeon
Tequila Jimmy and La Gringa, did you know that Band-Maid has sent us an early Christmas present over the internet. The band has released two videos on TH-cam. Enjoy these reactions. I can’t quite remember which interview this was. Kanami said that she thought the best part of the 10 year Yokohama concert was when Miku stood in up front in the middle of the stage and played her solo. Definitely shows Miku’s confidence and determination. Let’s not forget having a great teacher in Kanami.
They definitely appreciate the fans. They bawled their eyes out after the last performance on the us 2022 tour backstage. Akane barely held it together on the closing song. The support was overwhelming and thus created memorable. Just like Smile was created and About Us.

Some people say I revere Miku too much. Usually when they see the very large picture of her I have in my home. Well…I say picture…it’s more of a shrine (or what my local council zoning committee insist on calling “a completely unauthorised temple”)…made of solid gold…and about 3 storeys high. I’m only joking! Of course it’s not solid gold! It’s just covered in gold leaf. And it’s not 3 storeys high either - well, the main building is, sure, but Miku’s marble pedestal takes it up another 2 storeys. 🤘❤ Thanks a million for an epic reaction to a superb docu. My favourite of Ohrenje’s videos next week! The hidden depths of Miku! Expect to be picking up your jaws in amazement and laughing and smiling a lot! Watching your reactions will be like getting to unwrap a Christmas prezzie early! 🤘❤
Haha.. Tony I need to see that Shrine!.. I bet you went all out with it. No one deserves her own Shrine more tho!.. Thanks so much for tuning into us!.. Hoping this week hauls ass as I'm ready for Santa to crawl his ass thru the chimney already. Much Love!!
Of course we are here until the end of the video. After all, you two are by now a part of us. 🤭🤘 Yes, this little person with her little ‘personality disorder’ is a very special one. :) In addition to being a wizard with words and a guitarist, she is, as you said, also a true motivational artist.🕊 ___________________ 「 _"完璧なんてありえない" / Perfection? When I discovered BAND-MAID and listened to their entire discography (multiple times) and binge-watched all their TH-cam videos (multiple times), Kanami and Akane became my favorite maids. But since I’ve watched Ohrenje’s documentaries on BAND-MAID, I can definitely tell that Kanami and Akane are my favorite maids 🤓👁️🦍
A little off topic, but if you notice Saiki's voice early on in the video, it was a bit hoarse. She had slowly been losing her voice until she finally had the operation. What a big contrast to her voice today! Simply beautiful!
This has been so much fun with you two. I have watched these docs many times (and with other reactors), and I look forward to Monday mornings and your commentary. Also, the song you were saying you need to do soon, "About Us", make sure you do the Official Live. This was the first time it was ever played (because of the pandemic), and it hits powerfully with that context.
@@Aaronacer But first he should watch @Ohrenje version of About Us that includes Saiki's speech before the song. I think it's important to hear it first.
That "Portrait" pearl front guitar that Miku has (the one with all of the pearl tiles) is a $10,000 guitar that you can still buy from Zemaitis's web site. I really love Miku's signature model, but the pearl front is absolutely beautiful as well. Yoshi from Aldious has one of those as well, you can see it very clearly in their "We Are" video. ^_^
Omg!!! Yes!!!!! I toooootally eyeballed that guitar when I saw it when we reacted to Aldious!!!! I looooove that guitar!! It’s called the “Portrait”? It’s sooooo beautiful!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for this rection. Though I have already seen this documentary several times, I couldn’t imagine stopping before the end ! All these documentary films are making Band Maid even fuller and lovable. All members seem unique and irreplaceable united around their rock Miku 🕊️ ❤🇫🇷🤘🏻
Hey you two super Maniacs!! Content is always on point and appreciated. Can't wait for my reaction on Goose, you will love it. I want to see some Gringa giggles and shakes, also some Jimmy jams going on!!
Love your reactions to this series. La Gringa's enthusiasm is infectious! Miku is an uncommon force of nature. By the way, Ohrenje has said that his name is pronounced like the fruit orange. :)
FYI...In Japan, pigeon and dove amount to the same thing...hence our Maid is not just a streetwise funky pigeon but also a messenger for 'Peace&Love'...her must-see first Cluppo MV. In case you didn't know...her genre is Hippie Poppo...Po!!! ❤🙃🥳
You were wondering about the guitar playing on the studio tracks. My understanding is that Kanami did all the guitar parts until Unleash!!!!! Starting with the Unleash!!!! ep Miku plays her parts on the studio recordings
You have done it again! Excellent, excellent reaction. You both have become the best of Maidiacs! I love you for it. I would suggest after you finish this series of documentaries, that you listen to "Endless Story" performed at the very end of their final concert of their US tour in Yokahama in november 2023. It will bring tears to your eyes. You can feel their love for the fans so much in that performance and I'm sure you will understand exactly how impressive the moment is. After all you have experienced in thesse shows, this song is the cap on the whole understanding of these women that you have been exposed to!
Thank you so much for the kind words we are both sitting here with huge smiles on our faces!! You made our evening a little brighter!! As far as endless story goes stay tuned because it's coming much sooner than you think 😉
It's quite an achievement for Miku to get her own Signature Guitar even before Kanami did. Even MISA got hers before Knami. But in the end PRS got it together and did the right thing in the end. 'Bout TIme! But Kanami was such a good Sensei, when there was a song she knew was beyond Miku's skills, she wrote her another song that would get her Chops up to snuff. However, other than looks, there's another reason Miku choose the Rickenbacker. It's in the lyrics of one of her idol, Sheena Ringo's song, Marunouchi Sadistic, "Gimme a Rickenbacker 620. Don't have the 190,000 Ochanomizu" But when she switched to Zemaitis she didn't start with the A24 MF. It was the Tele Style Zemaitis A24 DF 2H.
Regarding learning new instruments, Hana, the drummer, guitarist, vocalist of Gacharic Spin originally was a bassist. She was recommended to the band founder F Chopper Koga by the drummer of the Japanese Kami Band of Babymetal, Aoyama. All three of them went to high school together. Koga was the bassist, so Hana had to learn to drum. Later, she learned the guitar. She's pretty much a musical genius.
Kobato is the reason I have a Zemaitis. My wife always liked Muki's guitars, so she went online once and purchased a MFG24 for my birthday (it's good to be married to a doctor). It's by far the best Les Paul style guitar I've played. It's a reasonable weight, its beautiful, and the C-shaped neck feels great (I've never had a strong preference between C, D, and U necks, just no Vs please). Offhand the only musician I can think of who learned an instrument for a specific band is Raychel of Raise a Suilen. They're a Japanese rock band of a different style than the maids, and their shows always have elaborate lighting and are super high energy. I don't understand why reaction channels largely ignore that band.
There's actually a lot of private jokes on this model: the trussrod plate with her name in numbers, the traditionnal Zemaitis name changed to "Guitar Kuruppo - M.K. & Zemaitis since 2018" between the pickups, the many pigeons here and there and the five roses symbolising each Band-maid member. That's a stunning instrument and I love mine.
@@realdocloco hey you might have the only one in Belgium!! PO!!!! i'm close to Nashville Tennessee and Pigeon 74 is nesting close by. Kanami's signature PRS is nice, i think 200 are being made. peace !!!
Kentarō Akutsu author of words 14 times, author of music 11 times. In total, he participated in writing 15 songs BAND-MAID. Participated in groups "Zero" 1996-97, "HAV" 2004-05.
It's amazing how all this came together. If she never saw Kanami's videos we may never have had Band-Maid . Just makes me appreciate being able to listen to them even more.
I was so sure you would love this one, especially why Miku started learning guitar. ❤ Although it was briefly mentioned in this documentary I suggest reacting to Ohrenje's focus on "About us", because it would be the perfect ending to the Ohrenje series. But please, for your own sake, make sure you have a mop on stand-by. (th-cam.com/video/1wG81Nznonc/w-d-xo.html)
Jens!! We have copied this link and added it to our list. Will definitely do this for sure so count on it. We will wait until after we listen to the song about us because we haven't reacted to the actual song yet but once we get to that we will add this right after. Thanks so much for always being so awesome and supportive with us! We love you and had a great time hanging out with you at the Asami stream!! ❤️❤️
Correction on the Budokan concert. Bandmaid canceled the concert because of strict covid restrictions. Every other seat in the arena had to be empty(only 5k allowed not 10k) , wear masks, no singing, or cheering. I don't know if this caused a riff between Budokan and Bandmaid because they haven't been invited back since, but during some concerts this year BM members mentioned Budokan again, so maybe they're back on good terms. Possibly Budokan finale in November or December 2025? 🤞US tour 2026?🤞
If you're about to listen to "About us", this was one of the first time that Saiki give a real speech before presenting the song online. I think this speech is important because it shows how much they care about their fans, so here it is: Saiki: We were supposed to meet you today. For the first time in a year, we thought we could meet you all, those of you who could come to see us, but we can’t meet you in the end. I’m sorry. Even though it’s not my fault. We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person. We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation. When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s too bad. We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year. We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet. And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you. That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan. We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now. Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more. This is our present for you masters and princesses. Please listen to it.
I own a PRS and a Zemaitis guitar due to BAND-MAID. Zemaitis' slogan is "Art With Strings" and Jimmy's right, I love to just look at it as a piece of art.
I have watched their documentary many times already. But Monday is my best time for me to share a time with you. I wish you will have a reaction of "Endless Story" after this series of documentaries. And please just let me ask you. How do you welcome Band Maid if they visit to your home?
Make sure you tune in Friday!... We would go all out if Band-Maid came to our home!.. I'd have a party for 100 ppl but there would only be a few of us. Personally... Me (TJ) would have all my equipment set up to play and ask if we could all jam on one song together.. I could die a happy man after that :) .. Thank you for Watching!
@@TJandTheGringa Thanks for your answer! I think Band Maid is a band who makes us want to express our gratitude directly as they express their gratitude on their songs. I don't miss your video. Never!
Miku has a huge capacity for knowledge and information. When Saiki and Miku went to New York to record The Dragon Cries for Tony Visconti, they had some down time. So without telling anybody she went into down town new York on her own. This only came to light when she mentioned it on one of the Radio Nippon shows with Saiki, who herself, didn't know about her solo adventure either.
I understand from that interview Miku went Tiffany because she was always wanted to see the store eat at “The Blue Box Cafe” inside. Reservation is required and usually months out but of course the pigeon found away to get a seat and enjoy a lunch. No stopping a 810 year old pigeon! Love her determination and grit! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
The brain child behind the band. Flapping her wings over buildings in a single bound. It's a bird...it's a plane...it's a Little Pigeon? It's Super Miku! The Little Pigeon that could! She's amazing! The heart and soul of the band and sadly, often overlooked by many not familiar with Band-Maid. Thankfully, Ohrenje has done an amazing job of making people fall in love with the members of this incredible band, with his amazing documentaries. Bravo to him. And bravo to you two...for helping to spread the word of the Maid to the world with your channel. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 About Us....a definite must!
Ironically, Wolfgang said he didn’t take guitar lessons from his dad. He said EVH wasn't a good teacher because everything was so intuitive for him, that he had a hard time explaining how to do things. Wolf was pretty much self-taught.
I hope that someday you are able to acquire the limited edition blu-rays of both the Tokyo Garden Theater and the Yokohama arena Band-Maid concerts. Not just for the concerts but for the documentaries that come with the 2 disc limited editions. The TGT one is a behind the scenes of their 2022 US tour and the Yokohama one is a behind the scenes of the prep for that show. These would not be for reacting to but just for your own enjoyment. For a guy like me who is too old to be traveling to concerts anymore their video releases are a god-send. Thank you for reacting to the Ohrenje docs.

This is a conversation between Kanami and Miku about the process of creating and performing the song Different. th-cam.com/video/3NztdOkoYoo/w-d-xo.html And this special intro for influencer that Kanami helped put together for the Yokohama Arena show, this is the one that Kanami was so proud of her student. th-cam.com/video/EpUZMCm0Qdk/w-d-xo.html
I never knew that I needed a band that has the heart like Band Maid in my life. Yea my favorite bands are cool, but none of them hit me to the core like the Maids.
I have read that Miku was practising eight hours a day at some stage. And she had Kanami as her mentor (sensei). Kanami feels so proud when Miku plays solos during songs now.
Continue with the Band-Maid Nippon broadcast! I think all of them are translated. I think it’s in Ohrenje’s channel too; the translated broadcast but don’t quote me on that. ☺️
Hello Tequila and The Gringa!! Greetings from the south of Argentina... Congratulations for the reactions in general... especially to the BAND MAID documentaries. It would be great, since there is no biography about the history of Lovebites, to react to the extras on their DVDs, whether it be backstage or a three-part special of Miyako visiting guitar stores that is on You Tube or the visit of Miyako and Midori to the Japanese TV show of Marty Friedman (ex Megadeth). Merry Christmas and a good end to the year... Mario (ronco metal)
In their live shows, Band-Maid is wont to add intros and solos. Miku has already done guitar dualing with Kanami. Those photos of her back to back with Kanami at Zepp Haneda is one.
Thanks for watching these documentaries…I know they take time to put together. But for us Maidiacs these give us a connection and appreciation for this amazing band. Always look forward for Band-Maid Mondays. 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!

Yes, this little person with her little ‘personality disorder’ is a very special one. :) In addition to being a wizard with words and a guitarist, she is, as you said, also a true motivational artist.🕊

Thank you so much. That means a lot more to us than you know!! Love all of you!! ❤️❤️
何回も見てますが、楽しみににしていました。
A little off topic, but if you notice Saiki's voice early on in the video, it was a bit hoarse. She had slowly been losing her voice until she finally had the operation. What a big contrast to her voice today! Simply beautiful!
Po!!!
🕊️🕊️🕊️
Thank you 🙏 and yes both of you are amazing… thank you once again reacting to the Maids
🫵R Amazing!! Thank you!! Much ❤️❤️❤️
The best moment while saw them live is omajinai time....always funny, and happiness fill in my heart(sorry for my bad english😂)
What does it say about BandMaid and about TJ and the Gringa that even after watching this 10x + I hung with you guys to the end!
Thank you so much for the awesome words. You put huge smiles on our faces!! We are definitely doing About Us so stay tuned!! Much ♥️
@@Aaronacer But first he should watch @Ohrenje version of About Us that includes Saiki's speech before the song.
All members seem unique and irreplaceable united around their rock Miku 🕊️
❤🇫🇷🤘🏻
You are so awesome. Thank you for watching till the end!! ‼️😃🕊️ Po!
Hey you two super Maniacs!!
Content is always on point and appreciated.
Can't wait for my reaction on Goose, you will love it.
I want to see some Gringa giggles and shakes, also some Jimmy jams going on!!
Thanks Coach!!.. Be sure to tune in tomorrow!!
Love your reactions to this series. La Gringa's enthusiasm is infectious! Miku is an uncommon force of nature. By the way, Ohrenje has said that his name is pronounced like the fruit orange. :)
Thanks for watching appreciate it and yes I know Ohrenji is how you say orange in Japanese.
🕊🕊🕊💖
You were wondering about the guitar playing on the studio tracks. My understanding is that Kanami did all the guitar parts until Unleash!!!!! Starting with the Unleash!!!! ep Miku plays her parts on the studio recordings
Awesome!
@@TJandTheGringa 🤩😍
WWMD!!!! You two rock 🙂
🫵 ROCK‼️. TySm for Watching ‼️
It was the Tele Style Zemaitis A24 DF 2H.
the "Flappy Pigeon" is a rare bird. only 80 were made. excluding the "Holy Grail" Flappy Pigeon which the number 1 Maid uses.
I've often said, and probably here, you could drop Miku Kobato in the middle of the Sahara Desert with a kazoo and she would still become a rock star!
I believe it!!!! That girl can do anything in any situation!!!
I have to check but I think Hana was playing guitar in a band before Gacharic Spin (and bass in another).
I was just looking at the prices of those guitars yesterday!! Your wife is the best gift giver ever!!!!! 🎉
If you look at Miku’s signature guitar Flappy-Pigeon very closely, you’d see “ぽ” (“Po” in Hiragana) in the rose decoration part😊
@@realdocloco how many flappy pigeons do you think are in the US
@@manrayma there's 80 in total (50 for first batch, 30 for the second one), so I would say probably half of them. Mine is #29 (and I'm from Belgium)
Is that Kumamoto castle?
I visited there the day after Band-Maid Kumamoto Okuji last year, PO!🕊💕
Yes it is!! 😃
now I need to go back and see that too 😁
It's amazing how all this came together. If she never saw Kanami's videos we may never have had Band-Maid . Just makes me appreciate being able to listen to them even more.
I was so sure you would love this one, especially why Miku started learning guitar. ❤
Although it was briefly mentioned in this documentary I suggest reacting to Ohrenje's focus on "About us", because it would be the perfect ending to the Ohrenje series.
I think this speech is important because it shows how much they care about their fans, so here it is:
Saiki:
We were supposed to meet you today.
We most definitely will check this out! Thank you!!
Absolutely love "Endless Story" especially live.
Make sure the sub-titles are on to fully understand what Saiki is saying

Yeah, and look at her face.

Thanks for your answer!
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
She also flew to Las Vegas to see Bruno Mars.
@@ericifune5543 didn’t Miku meet him and give him their latest CD.
@@G-man_810 Yes.
Without Miku, we wouldn't have Band-Maid
💯‼️
The brain child behind the band. Flapping her wings over buildings in a single bound. It's a bird...it's a plane...it's a Little Pigeon? It's Super Miku! The Little Pigeon that could! She's amazing! The heart and soul of the band and sadly, often overlooked by many not familiar with Band-Maid. Thankfully, Ohrenje has done an amazing job of making people fall in love with the members of this incredible band, with his amazing documentaries. Bravo to him. And bravo to you two...for helping to spread the word of the Maid to the world with your channel. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
About Us....a definite must!
Ironically, Wolfgang said he didn’t take guitar lessons from his dad. He said EVH wasn't a good teacher because everything was so intuitive for him, that he had a hard time explaining how to do things. Wolf was pretty much self-taught.
I can totally see that ..Eddie was a character and he was probably..."oh its easy just do this..." 😂😂
I hope that someday you are able to acquire the limited edition blu-rays of both the Tokyo Garden Theater and the Yokohama arena Band-Maid concerts.
Thank you !! 🕊️🕊️

"$hit" was the term Miku used when describing Kanami's lyrics.

I have read that Miku was practising eight hours a day at some stage. And she had Kanami as her mentor (sensei). Kanami feels so proud when Miku plays solos during songs now.
Mikut mindeki szereti. Még azok is akik nem "maidiacksok". :)
Everyone loves Miku. Even those who are not "maidiacks". :)

In Japanese language, the onomatopoeic sound that pigeons/doves make is kuruppo (くるっぽ) or simply po .
Miku is so bubbly and enthusiastic
I'm not sure but I think I've read somewhere that in one of the concerts they had recently that Miku-chan and Mincho-chan had a guitar duel.
In their live shows, Band-Maid is wont to add intros and solos. Miku has already done guitar dualing with Kanami. Those photos of her back to back with Kanami at Zepp Haneda is one.
