Collier Practitioner Ray demonstrates the Cheneau-Gensingen scoliosis brace fabrication process.

Ray Diaz is introduced by Michael Todd of Collier and Laurence Orthotics and Prosthetics. Ray is in the fabrication room cutting out the rough module of the Cheneau-Gensingen scoliosis brace that needs customization.
After cutting out the openings, Ray adds the thoracic pad, a saddle pad so there is a push on the thoracic. There is also a lumbar push point with a counter on the bottom. The ventral pad and two straps in front complete the design. Ray demonstrates the flexibility of the brace.
Technical notes:
Fabrication of the Chéneau-Gensingen brace starts with points plotted with a CAD/CAM technology based on the patient’s curve. The unusual features of the brace work to reduce rotation in all three planes. Openings positioned at the spinal concavities and corrective pressure points are fabricated to have a built-in correction effect according to a patient’s individual curve pattern.
This exacting fit is much more tolerable for the patient which contributes to improved corrections and happier patients. As a treatment solution, this brace can be 90% effective for avoiding surgery with full patient compliance. In some cases, patients have been able to partial reimbursement through their insurance.

Good job!!, great!! In a prototype that fits the patient's body, I understood that the raw brace was cut off according to a design drawn by a pen.
But how do you secure the void space on the other side of the "pressing the patient's body". Heat it up to re-mold the PE?? or Only drilling a big hole? or, through virtually corrected body mold by 3d CAM/CAD ??
