P.S. im not trying to be that guy who sits there and tells you whats wrong i was just saying what ive tried and it helped me so if i can make something go easier for others i will try haha
I mean something... Geez I was cringing when he just kept drilling and up-sizing and drilling and up-sizing, I mean he had a vacuum right there anyways he could have at least tried to get the external shaving to minimize the internal ones lol. I would have pulled the turbo but that's just me. I also would try to get more of a central location to probe unless they are mainly focusing on #6 egt since apparently they are known for #6 getting hot
Also WTH is with the ground location, they removed the paint of a 4inch area. You could have ran straight to the battery before you messed up paint especially paint on a firewall, you know a core structural part that isn't removable so if it does rust it's patchwork to repair or a cab swap😂 I'm sure it would get spot painted but why would you want to even go that route. Just mho
It comes with the 3 gauge wiring kit if you purchased one of those. Otherwise, any automotive wire will work. Doesn't have to be green and black specifically.
I got 3 question. When you get the gauges does it come with the sensor? Does the fuel one come with the 90 degree fitting? Do you need the transmission adaptor for the 5 speed Manuel?
Yes, it does come with the sensor. No it does not come with a 90 degree adapter but you can purchase it thru our website. We do not recommend installing a transmission temp gauge on a manual transmission vehicle.
If the threads of that port match the threads of the adapter, you can put it there. However, please be aware that we have not tested that location for accuracy so we cannot confirm.
I bought the full kit and it literally didn’t come with any wires or a snubber valve and I had to fabricate my own 90 degree fitting for the fuel pressure, been trying to install these for a month but everytine I encounter another item not mentioned in the “full kit” don’t see how it’s full when u have to buy so much extra
We are sorry that you are experiencing these issues installing your product. If you purchased the gauges from our website, you will have needed to select the additional accessories that you want to include in the drop-down menus on the product page. If you purchased the package from Amazon and chose the one specific to your vehicle, you should have received everything you need to install.
Whats the part # of this kit and you mentioned install Assessory kit is extra? Whats the part # on just the 3 gauge pillar mount because all I'm finding is ones that overlay the original not replace.
This particular kit can be found here: www.glowshiftdirect.com/7-color-series-triple-gauge-package-for-1998-2002-dodge-ram-cummins/ All of the additional accessories available for that vehicle are listed on the right hand side of the page, just choose the ones you want based on your gauges selected.
Good video ! Thanks for making it ! Thinking about buying for my 1999 Dodge Ram Diesel 2500. I Really only need Fuel Pressure Monitoring at this time. Do you Have a One Guage option Pod or ?
Yes they do but it’s not a whole pillar it’s just a little like cap like pod that goes over the existing pillar I got a 2 guage one haven’t installed yet so don’t really know how to mount it to my existing pillar so can’t really help you on the installation of it but you might have a idea so if you get it and have a idea u should let me know
I don’t think anyone makes them but what u can do is buy a 3 gauge one and either buy a single pod and add it to the pillar or get one the goes on your steering column infront of your cluster that’s about the only options probably but maybe their is someone that makes a 4 gauge pillar pod but hope that helps
At 17:37 It says attach to a wire Tap to the Head light wire.....I HOPE there's BETTER instructions in the Manual because the Head light wire could be different than the Yellow wire Shown in this Video.....
I've got a 2002 ram with the 24 valve cummins. Been thinking about getting this kit, But I'm not sure which is more important - fuel pressure gauge or trans temp. help?
@@GlowShift Thanks for the quick reply! I tow occasionally, but my truck is a daily driver as well. Seeing as the OEM lift pumps are problematic the fuel pressure gauge would be a better route, as my water temp would rise if my transmission was getting hot, yes?
Not necessarily. If the transmission cooler is built into the vehicle's radiator, it will have no effect in the water temperature of the vehicle. The reason for this is, the cooler for the transmission is separate from the coolant housing of the radiator.
@@GlowShift I've installed the gauge set, but as of yet, the only gauge I have working is the boost gauge. yellow to constant 12v, red to ignition 12v, but they don't seem to be getting power? No needle cycle or anything.. I've sent an email to customer support but haven't recieved a reply yet. Figured I'd try you guys on youtube since I'm always on here :) Please help! Thanks.
Double check your power connections as well as your ground connection. If the gauge is not turning on at all, that means the gauge is not receiving power.
I got the same issue rt ran through all wires to test connections all good but still nothing I’m going to run constant yellow to battery instead of the fuse jumper and tap red wire into ignition source if this doesn’t work I’m ripping it out and returning it
I'm not very happy with this video the set of gauges I got this guide is no help hopefully in the future you guys make a video on all you different style gauges
When you purchase a 3 gauge package, it will either come with a trans temp gauge or a fuel pressure gauge. We show you how to install the sensors for both because wiring both gauges for power is the same.
Our 3 gauge kits are available with either a transmission temperature gauge or a fuel pressure gauge as the 3rd gauge in the kit. So, we show how to install both sensors for customers that purchased one verse the other. Wiring is the same for both gauges, which is why we dont show it for both.
@GlowShift this same exact set? Never needed replaced? I've talked to many people telling me not to buy them as everyone they ever had gave them a bunch of issues. I have seen a fair amount of people have a lot of good luck though so
im thinking of ordering the kit with the fuel sensor gauge but does the kit come with everything I need to finish the install im also installing a big line kit with the T and was wondering if I need to order the snubber valve for connect my sensor instead of installing the sensor under the fuel filter.
you should put grease on the thread tap so metal doesnt fall into the manifold and go through your engine and turbo
P.S. im not trying to be that guy who sits there and tells you whats wrong i was just saying what ive tried and it helped me so if i can make something go easier for others i will try haha

Bought the 3 gauge set fuel boost and pyro. fuel and pyro gauge no longer work after 1 month I don't think I will be going back to glowshift
Have you contacted technical support to resolve your issue? If your gauges do have an issue, they will be covered under the 1 year warranty.
Did you figure out what the issue was
Checking back for an update John. Let us know how it went.
Any fuel pressure gauge only installations for a stock 99?
That's why i'm here too. 99 dodge ram diesel 2500. to monitor Fuel Pressure.
Great video - I just need to buy the gauges :p
haha right me too they seem to work good though from what ive seen on a few peoples trucks so im gonna go with them as well :)
I never received a green or black wire for the transmission temperature sensor that's apparently included

Instead of putting the snubber/sensor banjo bolt on the bottom of the fuel filter housing, can you put it in the inlet of the vp44?
If the threads of that port match the threads of the adapter, you can put it there. However, please be aware that we have not tested that location for accuracy so we cannot confirm.
Would it be unheard of to develop a leak in the tubing for the EGT gauge? Not being a smartass, just a thought.

How would you set up the fuel pressure gauge if you're running an aftermarket lift pump such as a FASS lift pump
Watch this portion of this video: th-cam.com/video/0dLYrGCXeIM/w-d-xo.html
So I wouldn't be able to run the snubber valve with an aftermarket lift pump?
Yes, you can still run the snubber valve with the FASS system.
Why do you put the pyro sensor in the manifold and not in the exhaust pipe after the turbo like on a big truck
Temperature after the turbo uses the air is much less 200-300 degrees less you want engine temp not pipe temp
Does this come with butt connectors/wire screws that are needed or will they need to be purchased separately?
No, those are not included.
I have a 98.5 24 valve but I don't have a line on the bottom of the fuel filter housing can I put the banjo bolt on the in side on the vp44
The banjo is meant to go into the bottom of the filter, however, you can try the lift pump or injection pump instead.
Do you have to do the dimming feature?
No, the dimming feature is optional.

Have a 2000 2500. Has stock lift pump. Do I really need the snubber valve, or is it mostly needed to protect my gauge?
It's just to make the fuel pressure more stable on the gauge. Otherwise it would be bouncing all over the place. But not necessary
Does anyone know if there’s a company that makes a 4 gauge pillar for the 2nd gen??

That's why we recommend using a test light and locating your exact headlight wire.
Does the dimmer wire have to be hooked up for these gauges to power on?
No. The gauge will simply just stay the same brightness.
Gauges work okay but even when lights are on "dim mode" they are way too bright at night.
Can someone tell me if you have to have the test port adapter for the transmission sensor or can you just screw the sensor into test port hole
Mine went in the transmission without any adapters
We’re those the tinted guages or black clear lens?
These one's are the black face with the clear lens.
What is holding the tap for the egt gauge
It's called a tap wrench.
Do you have a link for purchasing this set up?
www.glowshiftdirect.com/7-color-series-triple-gauge-package-for-1998-2002-dodge-ram-cummins/
My gauges stay lit when the ignition is on and won’t change colors what did I do wrong?
Double check that the lens on the front of the gauge hasn't rotated in is preventing the color change button from being pressed fully.
How much do you charge to install on a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500
Sorry, we do not do customer installations.

Sure do. The fail rate our gauges is extremely low. That majority of issues people have tend to come from improper installation.
What amp expandable circuit?
Depending on what type of fuse your vehicle has, our expandable circuits come with a 4 or 5 amp fuse.
You really don't need test port extender.
