It’s cause we’re usually so focused on the action that we need to go back and rewatch a few times to catch everything. They spend thousands of hours on the movie so it’s fun for them to slip in these surprises for us once we are ready to see the movies again :) something to get excited for again and again
The thing about hidden details, makes "Luca" more original and unique when it comes to textures, references, and yes Italian culture. -The fact that Enrico Casarosa stated feeling different among others is somewhat part of our youthful age, the word "sea monster" can come in place. It's a metaphor for others who felt out of place or indifferent from people. - The part where Luca and his family are having lunch, he thought of his mind and saying "Where do boats come from?" A reference of every 13 year olds "Where do babies come from?" XD - This last one is not a hidden reference, but a drop of it's wonderful Italian culture. Of course it's already obvious 🇮🇹💙
I think my favourite Easter egg not on this list is a scene during the race sequence where two men playing chess are startled by the boys racing by and one of them rotates the board, most likely a call back to the animated short Geri’s Game
07:48 The name of the bar is actually "Bar Giotto", the (turned off) neon sign is right there, the "gustosa" plaquard is an advert for soda🤣 The plaquard sais "Gustosa - ghiacciata", "gustosa" means "tasty", and is most probably the name of the soda, while "ghiacciata" means "iced", so an iced soda.

Fun fact: I believe the director of The Good Dinosaur was the voice actor of Cisco. [ “friend” of Ercole Visconti ] Now I’m not completely sure- I just remember hearing it.
I think I found the new Easter egg for the new movie when Alberto and Luca go down the big hill and accidentally hit the two people playing chess the old man had a hat on with a red fur ball on top of the hat what looks like the fur of the red panda in the new moving coming out
In the short The Blue Umbrella, the titular character falls in love with a red umbrella. Isn't it interesting that Luca's "umbrella" in this scene is the awning of a red building? :-)
Well I mean it’s made by Disney and Pixar not just Pixar - that’s probably why -.- the Disney begining is in the movie same with Pixar’s (idk what it’s called)
If you didnt notice the tower that luca and Alberto climb where it shows wall-es boot It is also the tower from rapunzel The witch kept her in Cause if you see a shot of where the door was shown on the side of the tower it is a replica of the tower
It's because it doesn't need to be mentioned, it's so tightly woven into every plot detail that you'd have to be blind and deaf not to realize the central theme to the movie is acceptance and "don't judge a book by its cover". It doesn't even have to be about accepting homosexuality, it could be accepting people for their hobbies, their dreams, their ambitions, anything about their personality and interests. 1. Massimo - you think he's big, scary, tough, and mean. You think he lost his arm in a fight with a sea monster. But no. He was "born into the world this way." just as LGBT are. 2. Julia - she's apologetic about who she is, she's "too much", she has physiology that she things people will judge her for, but even still she remains true to who she is. LGBT people are frequently concerned about coming on "too strong" or worried that they're "acting too gay" or otherwise differentiating themselves from the "normal" crowd. 3. Alberto's father - it's easy to speculate "Bruno" from "Silenzio, Bruno" is Alberto's father, and spent a lot of time telling Alberto to stop being who he is, to stop doing things to stand out, to be less crazy, to be less like himself. When Alberto's father finally abandoned him, Alberto's battle cry become telling his father to shut up and let him be himself. Parents are often coaching their kids (or heaven forbid, sending them to conversion therapy) to be "normal", and parents have been known to disown their kids for being gay. It's also true that Bruno was a human, and couldn't reconcile the differences with his son. 4. Luca's grandmother - She "frequently plays cards at the villiage". The two ladies who are also the grandmother's age, living amongst the humans, are also sea monsters. Old lady trio; doesn't have to be gay old ladies, but definitely tightly knit. 5. Ercole - The childhood bully we ALL knew as gay little kids. The one who hated you for no reason, just because it was cool. Just because he got perks from hunting you and outing you. Just because he was too scared for other people to hate him for similarly uncontrollable personality ticks as you have. It doesn't necessarily mean the bully is gay himself, but he may be massively insecure about himself in other ways so he overcompensates by thrusting himself into the center of attention and marginalizing easy targets. 6. Massimo and Townsfolk - How easy they accepted the boys after learning who they are because they just spent the whole summer with them. How it only took Massimo saying "they're the same boys you've known, nothing has changed except now you see their real skin." Personally my mother accepted me through the same rhetoric: You've know me your whole life. Why should this change anything? 7. Luca's parents - Safe luca, sheltered, trained to avoid exposure for his own safety. His parents have obviously been to the surface before, they knew how to walk, hell, the mother was ridiculously talented at soccer right out of the ocean. It's common for parents to realize their kids are gay and fear the ridicule they're going to endure later in life, and they'll do anything they can to protect them from that ridicule, even sending Luca away, deep into the ocean where he is well protected from that hatred for who he is. There's one thing, however, that you need to keep in mind. Being a sea monster in the context of this movie IS NOT THE SAME THING as being gay. It's an ALLEGORY about acceptance. Alberto and/or Luca might be gay, but obviously Luca's family isn't, nor the entire sea monster population, so while it's fun to drawn parallels to the boys hiding them being a sea monster, and people can learn great lessons by understanding the allegory and applying it to sexuality, but it's NOT intrinsically true that they're gay. Apart from the sea monster plot details, it's hinted pretty frequently that there's a budding romance, but that's not the central point to the movie, nor should anyone be thrusting practical sexuality to the forefront of a children's movie. In short: abandonment, acceptance, and equality are not themes owned exclusively by the LGBT community
@@blakecrowl6333 Did you not read my comment? I didn't say it was LGBT, I said the allegory is woven into each plot detail but each can take away what they will from the movie and the themes of acceptance, loneliness and abandonment aren't exclusively belonging to the LGBT community.
