I live in Fort Collins that KOA is situated kind of weird behind the gravel pit, but Fort Collins is a great little town. I’ve lived here for almost 30 years. You’re right it is a cute little town and we are friendly people. I really enjoy your videos. I live vicariously through you!
Oh, yes! That Denver road is a killer on the RV…especially our motorhome. Many, many bumps, bangs, noises, and shifting items. It brought back memories! We love everything about Colorado, except the roads. Thanks for such inspiring videos. We can’t wait to visit that state park!
I am addicted to TH-cam travel and mechanic shows. I am restoring a 1979 Chevrolet G10 Van. Which I hope to use to go camping in next summer. Since the bulk of the remodel is finally done. I stumbled upon your channel today. And I must have watched 8 episodes already. Your channel is fun and up beat. Loving it
The white granules are from the blue inline filters. We used to get them towed in the faucet aerators. We switched to using a tandem set of whole house filters and our flow rate increased and the clarity and taste of the water in the RV improved.
We live in Littleton and have our yearly clean out and pack week before our summer/fall travels there. It truly is a hidden gem! We enjoy seeing your reaction to our beautiful area.
Oh, one more thing I am an RV Inspector from the NRVIA register technician, and when I do my inspections and people are getting on the road and they’re wanting some ideas I always tell them to go to keep your daydream because of the super way you guys travel and explain and it’s so much fun to watch you guys. I’ve been watching you for years and years and years when the kids were little and I always, they always write down your website so I’m giving you a lot of freebies girl anyway, it’s a joy to watch you guys and I know the people that I’m giving the advice to watch. You are also enjoying that as well. Keep on keeping on kisses all around.
This was fun to watch since you guys were in our “neighborhood” at Chatfield. I’ve lived in the area my whole life, and my uncle used to own all that land that now contains Angelo’s, the Breckenridge Brewery, and Designs by Sundown. The smokestack used to be a part of the Crowley Brothers Greenhouses many years ago. We would visit the greenhouses in my youth so it was fun to see on your video.
So glad y'all liked FoCo. I went to school there from 74-78 and it has REALLY grown up in a good way. It's a fun little town and now our niece and nephew live there so it's an annual stop out west, along with DEN where our Son and DIL live. Colorado has a lot to offer! Great episode with a nice tie in to Italy. I see what you're doing there...
We were in CO in July this summer. We actually stayed in Chatfield State Park site A4 among others since reservations are so hard to get and we were staying for 10 days. Mid way we moved to Cherry Creek State Park (closer to our youngest daughter & SIL). Beautiful state. Can’t wait to go back since we now have a state park pass and our daughter is still there too.
OK guys, I had no idea you were having a meet and greet! I own a pet salon in Littleton, maybe 10-12 minutes from Chatfield state park and when you went up Squaw Pass to Mt Blue Sky, you passed right by our neighborhood, Echo Hills! So sorry I missed you, I am so BUMMED :(... AND my son worked at that Discount Tire years ago! OMG and thats MY car wash!!!!!!! You found our brand new Buc-ees!
Thanks for the riding segments! My favorite part…. We hit the road soon ourselves, but heading up to Glacier and then down the Oregon coast and home via the eastern sierra’s in CA. Bringing both our road and MTB so we hope to have some adventures like yours! Fair winds KYD!
Glad you enjoyed Littleton! Lived just south of Chatfield for 20+ years. Fun to reminisce through your travels! So many great outdoor activities and beautiful places to see in Colorado! Enjoy!!
Another great episode. I watch just before bed each Sunday night and it’s become a wonderful and relaxing habit each week. Thank you both for all the work you do to keep us entertained !
If you live in Colorado, you can purchase a State Parks Pass when you renew your vehicle registration. The cost is $29, which is much cheaper than paying $70 to purchase it separately. This 3 night stay would have paid for it, plus you would have saved a dollar.
Awesome episode! I live a 6 minute bike ride from Chatfield and that’s my car wash. I was grinning over and over with the sights! Glad you found this beautiful place I get to call home!
Watching that awning gave me flashbacks of when ours broke when we were at Country Thunder. If you've ever boondocked near Florence, you know the winds can really pick up! We had to cut it then zip tie the sides since they're hydraulic. Luckily we live in Apache Junction so it wasn't a far drive home.
Having fun watching! I noticed as you backed up @22:19 that your side lights turn on with your brakes? Not sure if that's intended or not.... just an observation!
It was great to finally meet you guys at the Meetup! We had our awning partially torn while boondocking in Crested Butte when a random gust of wind spun up on an otherwise completely calm day. Thankfully it wasn't quite as bad as that couple experienced.
Italy was the BEST!!! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Plus… SPAM is my new hero. I love the way she (or he) sits in the background and takes any abuse the Airstream can throw his (or her) way. Love this episode. ❤
Chatfield is a very nice park that we have stayed in with our 42 ft 5th wheel many times. We are here again this week visiting one of our sons before continuing our trip to Wisconsin.
So much fun to see you enjoying our home state! So much to do and see here. You may have found that the bike trails around Chatfield connect easily to the Denver network of trails. You can ride forever on paved trails all through the city. And Buc'ees - what can we say? It's an iconic stop and well worth the time. We missed he meetup beause we were camping at Ridgway SP - another one you need to check out sometime. Near Ouray and Telluride. Hope you get to come back to Colorado soon!! Love your videos and enjoy your take on all things camping.
So fun to see you staying at Chatfield State Park ! Have camped there twenty times I bet ! Great park and will be in A loop next week ! Fort Collins is a great city and worked there over forty years , So fun to see you visiting and videoing where we have been and lived ! Love your channel !!!
We got new tires for our travel trailer from Discount Tire. On the day I showed up for my appointment, they had signs with my last name on them, arrows pointing the way, and part of the parking lot blocked so I could turn maneuver while towing. Class Act! I felt very VIP!
As a native Coloradan, it is always fun to watch others experience our state! Glad you enjoyed Chatfield State Park (it is a gem) and Fort Collins. Any plans to be in Western Colorado near Glenwood Springs anytime soon? Safe travels to you both.
My dad used to live in Littleton, Colorado for several years. He didn't live to far from Chatfield State Park (aka, Chatfield Reservoir) Beautiful lake . And I live here on the South side of Fort Collins Colorado. Very cool video.. Thank you ❤❤
My husband was on the crew that erected the canopies which cover the gas pumps for that Buc-Cee's. We visited it in mid-April this year on our way home from Texas. It was my first Buc-Cee's and the brisket sandwich was awesome. We also bought some shirts.
I love seeing RVers stop in my neck of the woods. You made great stops and great pick of campground with Chatfield. Hope to see y'all get your mile high fix again soon ❤
It's pretty cool for me to see this video while my family is here in Colorado at the Jellystone Yogie Bear Campground. We ended up here bringing my 8 year old to a children's hospital, but thankfully, after one surgery, it looks like we are on the downhill slide now, and on Friday, we move one once again
Buc-ees is like an expedition from the time you enter. So many choices. You need a water filter on your outside water connection. Have you changed your water filter inside the rig. Sunday's seeing you all is great🥰🤠
We had the same kind of white gooey build up on the filter on the side of the water pump. Only AFTER I removed the water pump did I realize I could have simply removed the filter inside the little plastic "globe" and cleaned it. Lesson learned.
* Nice 'Salute' to Italy towards "end of video"! Western travels, Colorado, back hill mountainous terrain -- campsite terrific 💯. Just a good feel all around (including driveable 'new' tires)🤗
The traveling cup is hilarious. My BFF of 30+ years who was also my roommate in college have passed back and forth a brass candle, funny story behind it, since we graduated in 1989😂😂😂
Everyone needs a friend that will covertly wire a Mercedes cup-holder to the underside of their truck. I love everything about that story. Bill's eager anticipation as he unwrapped his new Christmas treasure!! And, I was patiently waiting the entire video for the demonstration of the "incredible flow of the spray button" on the kitchen faucet, that was teased to us viewers at time 7:30 ?? 😆
lol. Sorry. The sprayer sill needs help and we thought that would be misleading as the real issue was the calcium clog, not the sprayer. But the sprayer does work great in CA... before the inlet breaks, again!
If you’re looking for one last thing to your S2R list, try going to any of the McMenamins in Oregon or Washington. Our favorite is Edgefield outside of Portland. They’re a BLAST!
I grew up around the Ft. Collins area, and recognized Old Town before you said you were in Ft. Collins. I work just a few minutes from the Bucee’s you stopped at! Would have been a fun surprise to see you. 😊
Sometimes, just sometimes, things go your way, and this video has many instances - repaired pipes, fun meetup, undamaged awning, sidestepped spider, speedy tire service, and a great stop at Buccees. Even the SPAM lunchbox stood firm in all that rattling! Wishing you more of these times in your travels.👍🏾🙏🏾❤️
Hi Marc and Trish, two things, we purchased an RV water softener and never had calcium issues again! And second, we watched videos from the RV Training Academy in Texas who taught us not to run city water directly through the RV, to always fill up your water tank and use your water pump! Always keep an extra water pumps onboard. Hope this helps. GOD Bless. 🙏💖🙏
I wish I could make the room for a water softener. That is the drawback to Airstream and road biking (having the back of my truck now dedicated to bikes). I like running off of the pump. This little snafu might create new process. I am ordering a spare water pump this week actually. This city inlet issues continues to happen!
@@KeepYourDaydream Charlie said it’s okay to store the RV water softener on the backseat floor, it’s not that big. So worth it! Trish will love how she feels after her showers! 😉 You may love how she feels too! 🤣💖
@@KeepYourDaydreamDo you have room for a RO water filter under your sink? If not,get a filter that hooks to you outside hose before it goes into your tank
Didn't know that road bikes have thru axles now. On another note, we were camping near Mesa Verde National park when the weather suddenly got windy and stormy out of nowhere. I only have my awning out if I'm outside and using it now.
For a glimpse into Littleton's history, read Ralph Moody's books. Little Britch's is the first , but the others are enjoyable as well. Great story teller and provides quite a bit of info into early turn of the century Colorado. Great video (as usual), thanks for sharing.
This is simply an excellent RV video. Nothing more need be said, but ah well..... Mistakes, yup they happen..hopefully not too often. Tires, yup rotate them and you will get an extra 10 or 20K miles out of them. Spouse decides on a change of direction, yup just go with the flow.....Keep up the fun travels....we have been home for about a month now, but heading out in 4 days time. Cannot wait to get the rubber to the road again shortly...
Great parking the camper Trish! Oh no about the drip. Great fixing your kitchen sink faucet flow. Nice walk with Charlie. So sad about the neighbors awning. 😔 Great meet up! 18 minutes? WOW. That is fast. Sandwich looks yummy. Flamingo sighting!! 🥰 AWWWW! Charlie is so cute and sweet. The vase is so cute, and I agree Trish, you came out ahead. We will look forward to seeing where the cup holder is hidden next. 🤣 P.S. We loved your Italy series. - Michelle
Chatfield is great with their pet-friendly areas; Charlie would have loved swimming in the ponds. Next time through, check out Cherry Creek State Park. Herds of deer regularly wander through the sites.
We just made at least part of the drive ourselves a few weeks ago. I remember that tunnel you went through and the river that follows the highway. Beautiful place!
You finally come to Colorado and have a meetup only a little over an hour away from where we live in Longmont and we were in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Bummer!
You guys would probably love tsatsiki from Greek restaurants. It’s made from plain yogurt with minced cucumber and garlic and tastes awesome with just about anything.
All the way up to Breckenridge from Chatfield ? Tiger Run Resort 🐯😁 And Discount Tire has been my tire dealer for over 25 years - back when I lived in Lakewood/ Golden, CO. You were about 15 minutes away from Red Rocks Amphitheater - it’s a Denver City Park and open to the public on non-performance days. I hope you visited ! BTW: Our nickname for Ft. Collins is Fort Fun 🤩
I ride their all the time. I’ve had a couple prairie dogs bolt across the road almost getting stuck in my wheels over the last few years . Got to keep an eye out for them for sure.
Hi Mark....I've been fighting the same kitchen water issues depicted in the video. Found the problem to be calcium build up in the the hot water heater. Calcium collects on the cal-rod if you have one. If you don't your water heater was designed and manufactured to operate without one. You can't simply add one. Trust me, it won't work. Calcium beads fall off of the lining of your water heater tank. Calcium beads will grow larger over time and find their way into the RV plumbing. Residential faucets have smaller valve chambers and calcium collects there finally choking off the flow completely. You need to flush out the water heater tank. Not hard to do and there are any number of YT videos on the procedure. I flushed out our tamk and was shocked as I collected nearly 1 1/4 pounds of calcium. Desert water sources are highly alkaline and that means massive calcium beads. Put flushing your tank on a regular schedule for maintenance e bvery 6 months. You can look into a calcium filter in line removable basket to catch all the beads which can be installed between water heater tank and hot side of connection to RV plumbing. Ignoring tank maintenance cleaning will eventually kill your water heater.
On a hot day spray those tires with 303 protectant (I buy it by gallon and spray the whole tire at least every couple months) because wow, $1500 for 4 tires… the lady on TV keeps telling me inflation is dropping and the economy is great!🤨 The 303 will make them last a lot longer (our Pathfinder has 132k miles and just installed our 3rd set of tires)!
18 minutes! Marc your killing me ! Our Discount took 2 hours to put new tires on our Tundra a couple months ago and to top it they put our truck in the system incorrectly and didn't notice until the tires were on. Ours is an Sr5 Crewmax and they put tires on for a Limited which is a different tire size....

We will look forward to seeing where the cup holder is hidden next. 🤣 P.S. We loved your Italy series. - Michelle
The bike ride from Idaho Springs to the top of MT Blue which used to be Mt Evans before , is quite epic
Nice job. I love big climbs like that, but not a great shoulder. Check out Mt. Lemon. Incredible climb.
Love the SPAM lunchbox has such a prominent place in the Airstream. It didn't fall down either!
Aww you guys visited our town. We had lunch at Ginger and Baker a few weeks ago.
You finally come to Colorado and have a meetup only a little over an hour away from where we live in Longmont and we were in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Bummer!
That's a good place to be!
Nothing better than a freah set of shoes on the truck!
😊 I just got a new bike last Wednesday and it's at trike.
Trish loves trikes!
You guys would probably love tsatsiki from Greek restaurants. It’s made from plain yogurt with minced cucumber and garlic and tastes awesome with just about anything.
Isn’t Mediterranean food awesome. More vegetables than meat plus a side of rice and or flatbread. I’m serious you’re going to love tsatsiki.
That Discount Tire has always been efficient. As long as you make an appointment and they have the tires in stock, it’s usually 30 minutes or less.
Truly enjoy your adventures. We’re on the edge and ready to move on to our next adventure in a 30 Globetrotter or Classic.
I ride their all the time. I’ve had a couple prairie dogs bolt across the road almost getting stuck in my wheels over the last few years
I visited that same Buc-ees ! It was our first Buc-ees experience! So fun!
PS beautiful Trisha I am so sorry I missed you guys while you were here big fat. Bummer. Love you both. Love you all God bless.
It's in my cart.
We love Chatfield! We only live 15 minutes away for a quick getaway. 😊
