In 1974 Dave Edmund’s was in a film stardust with David Essex Kieth moon Larry hangman and many more and the fictional band was called the stray cats , .
You forgot to say - “In My Opinion”, cause music is subjective!. This is indeed a great version but Dave is performing the lead vocal almost identical to George, even his phrasing! And you know they always say, if you can’t improve on something, leave it as it is!
I look at them equally...I enjoy all three versions...but George Jones is George Jones...I like Chris Stapleton's version of Tennessee Whiskey more than George's, but without George's version there wouldn't be Chris'.(IMHO)
This is the best version ever! I loved it in ‘81 and I still love it in ‘23!!
Two men who know rockabilly and their way around a fretboard

FANTASTIC !!!!!
Yeah!!! Thanx! 😎👍🎶💕

Wow ! Killer line up ! Should have made more things together, with joint lead vocals !
Long live the stray cats

Dave knew from whence he came.
I really like this rock a billy take ...wonder what George Jones thought of this cover ?

"That's what she said!"
George Jones released a number of rockabilly sides on the Starday label.

Rock on doing the best😉
geiles Brett

Sorry to all his fans,
But both Dave Edmunds and
Sawyer Brown beats George Jones
on this song.
