The flame vent helps, for me it's important to not waste all my spirit emblems taking those other guys down with shurikens. I just choke on the parry timing so much in this game, especially with these Samurai generals.
@@trza49er My problem exactly dude.. In previous From Software games I relying on dodging and backstepping.. Now that Sekiro demands 'parry' timing with every fight, It's giving me such a challenge!
@@SuckMyDave Don't be afraid to just hold block sometimes while you figure out the timing of an enemy's strikes. It's easy to scramble away and regain your posture quickly when you need to, and unless it's a perilous attack (red sign), he's not going to hurt you much. Seems like 90% of the hits I take happen when I'm trying to dodge and they track me.
Years later and your walkthroughs are still doing wonders. For first play through players thank u my man one of the cleanest and easiest people to follow in these vids and I got all the way to the snake eyes shirahagi and went back to find many secret places I never knew because of you
2:15 if you use two balloons she'll end up giving you a divine confetti, I thought it was worth mentioning for people doing their first run, because if you have troubles killing a headless, you can quickly run out of confetti, something I experienced, in my first run :)

I legit am so late to this but I actually just popped the ballon’s to see what she would give me and she it stopped after the confetti so yes this still holds up

Best way to farm bell boy (that I’ve found) is with shards. Throw at him when you’re just below the top of the stairs, hide behind door, deathblow, rest. Takes ~40sec. Twice as much exp/time as the Hirata farm, which takes (me) ~135sec. 186/40 = 4.65. 306/135 = 2.26. Math aside, love ya Cowboy! Calm, informative, thorough but not overwhelming, great jokes without making a thing about it. You’re a fantastic teacher, my friend.
5 years later im playing pretty much the first souls like ive ever played (played dark souls when i was a kid but remember litteraly nothing) i was on the verge of giving up thinking i simply was not cut out for it until i found your walk-through i realised the problem wasnt my skill level it was the way i approached fights and the weapons and skills i was using, its still took some patience to do somethings but i was able to kill the first big boss in only 2 trys becuase of your guide, genuinely thankyou so much

Epic. My dumb ass went the other way and ran into a dead end with two bosses. One of them is the one which you can plunge attack (yet I still can’t kill him) and that one spear dude at the temple, who basically one shots me every time. This guide has helped me a lot, thanks man.
Tbh this general is as easy as the general u encounter after the ogre, just clear the bunch around him, don't try any fancy moves, u'll notice that his patterns are 2 attacks then a brief rest, just dodge and when he rests attack once. Repeat until dead
I am playing this section right now, cmon, I died at least 25 times on the roofs until I just ran through. When I backtracked here, I couldnt simply beat them. Damn you Nightjars!!!
I know I am too late but if anyone is struggling with the general, there is a trick Equip ash. Get the first blow after you clear the shooters. Now, run down stairs and make him come to you Circle round and go up. Have ash ready. Now, he will be in a block stance. Use ash as soon as he gets a bit close. And dodge if he attacks. As soon as he is startled, charge him (holding attack button) 8/9 ash will do (i missed about 3) Starle, charge, dodge, repeat. They turn into jokes by this strategy
The reason i suggest going up is,you will get slight more range on the ash as you have the upper ground and slight difference means a lot in any soulsbourne game
This is the last game I need to play in order to say I’ve beaten the fromsoft series of games. Cowboys been here helping me since the very beginning. I can’t wait to finally conquer this game. I know this is an old video but thank you Cowboy for helping me complete this goal in my life🙏
I stumbled into the Senpou temple area, rather than returning to the castle, but I'm glad I did because there's a gourd seed that isn't too difficult to obtain there.
Just got inside the castle killed a couple dudes but got surrounded so fast by the blue robes n then ran into the elite boss behind slide doors trying to escape this game is amazing
I botched my first two attempts at this dude. Third attempt I said f#$k it, no more stealth, I'll fight him head on. I beat that dude straight up. There's nothing like that rush of adrenaline when you're about to beat a tough mini-boss or boss. Your walkthroughs are great btw. Keep them coming.
if you want to kill all those ninjas after the first kite with stealth, don't go for the item on the roof where that ninja who jumped around spotted you. Go on the roof beneath that one, go past the spasming ninja, jump and grab the ledge of the roof the spasming ninja is on, crawl to the side while holding the ledge and deathblow it from there.
Why is it that when you play the game seems slower and when I play my heart is beating faster than a cheeta on booger sugar and the gameplay seems faster 😟😕

Yeah there a Pacifiying Agent, valuable item, cure "terror" and increases terror resistance. The apparition fighter down below can be beat with this item plus Divine Confetti 🎊 You get Pacifying Agent from most enemies in that area though so. No biggie.
I finally got this game a couple weeks ago. I was stuck on the first mini boss. Gave up. Came back and FINALLY killed him. I was still having trouble with everything else. You're guide has helped tremendously. I have Dark Souls 3 and have played it for like an hour, dying over and over again. And I have no clue what I'm doing. Lol. I've also never played any of the other dark souls games so idk if I should even play the 3rd one anyway for that reason. What should I do? Buy the ps4 versions of the first 2 Dark Souls games before going back to 3? I haven't seen much of an actual story in them unlike Sekiro
The order in with Cowboy is doing this walkthrough is different from the order recommended in the Wiki. The person/people who wrote the wiki reckon that after defeating Gyoubu, you should go back to Hirata Estate to fight Juzou the Drunk and Lady Butterfly, and THEN fight Blazing Bull, then explore Ashina Castle, then visit the Abandoned Dungeon. I've been following both the wiki and Cowboy so the path I'm taking is some weird hybrid route. e.g. I beat Juzou but couldn't beat Lady Butterfly, so I gave up and came back to Ashina Castle, but then I somehow ended up on Mt. Kongo heading to Senpou Temple and had to backtrack back to Ashina castle after realising I was out of my depth, so now I'm watching this video as a guide through Ashina castle haha
luckily i grinded a bunch of skill points after reaching the headless warning i couldn't figure out where to go (thats what brought me to this guide) i would have never saw the ledge you had to jump and grab.. I thought i was stuck and had to beat Ms Butterfly (that was not happening) these guides are awesome!
That samuri with the gunman around him was a pain but i took a break for like 30 mins got my mind off it came back and destroyed him... I kept not being able to hit the guys around him on the steps like the back two i had to really try for and main dude would see me so i'd run to that spot you showed and get my stealth "kill" for 1st health bar as he was walking back then we'd brawl

The death blow healing is probably the most important skill especially when your gord seeds and vitality are low

I've also never played any of the other dark souls games so idk if I should even play the 3rd one anyway for that reason. What should I do? Buy the ps4 versions of the first 2 Dark Souls games before going back to 3? I haven't seen much of an actual story in them unlike Sekiro
The order in with Cowboy is doing this walkthrough is different from the order recommended in the Wiki. The person/people who wrote the wiki reckon that after defeating Gyoubu, you should go back to Hirata Estate to fight Juzou the Drunk and Lady Butterfly, and THEN fight Blazing Bull, then explore Ashina Castle, then visit the Abandoned Dungeon. I've been following both the wiki and Cowboy so the path I'm taking is some weird hybrid route. e.g. I beat Juzou but couldn't beat Lady Butterfly, so I gave up and came back to Ashina Castle, but then I somehow ended up on Mt. Kongo heading to Senpou Temple and had to backtrack back to Ashina castle after realising I was out of my depth, so now I'm watching this video as a guide through Ashina castle haha

luckily i grinded a bunch of skill points after reaching the headless warning i couldn't figure out where to go (thats what brought me to this guide) i would have never saw the ledge you had to jump and grab.. I thought i was stuck and had to beat Ms Butterfly (that was not happening) these guides are awesome!
That samuri with the gunman around him was a pain but i took a break for like 30 mins got my mind off it came back and destroyed him... I kept not being able to hit the guys around him on the steps like the back two i had to really try for and main dude would see me so i'd run to that spot you showed and get my stealth "kill" for 1st health bar as he was walking back then we'd brawl

Ok I went pretty much straight to Ashina Reservoir and fought the spear boss, which I notice does not happen here, so that at least tells me he might be a bit tough for me now.
Lol yeah, I also beat blazing bull and gyobu at the start of the game not knowing.
