Thanks for your video. I got this to paint with watercolor on the go. With watercolor I don't use a palette knife, so that isn't an issue. And for the cups, I use a faber-castell collapsible water cup and it works perfectly. 2 actually fit in 1 side tray. I got 2 of the side trays, which help will the extra space for the cups and other materials. Hope this helps watercolorists.

@@jjsartjourney absolutely! The different mediums have different requirements. U.go I think is made for oil medium but could easily be adapted to gouache and others. Thanks for sharing!

I have a u.go that I use for watercolor as well, I also have the two side trays. The magnets on the side panels are great for holding metal paletts and when using a collapsible water cup, I drop a magnet inside the container and it keeps the cup from accidently spilling over. I have the smaller size and it fits great in a backpack along with all of my painting supplies.

Thank you for your review. I've been considering this palette. It's good to know about the issue with palette knives

Yes but as some people have pointed out a plastic palette knife is a great alternative.

I’m just watching videos now for how people setup and use their U.Go (mine arrived on the weekend). I also have the smallest size because I’ll be using mine for gouache and watercolour and I tend to paint small; I also prefer smaller Plein air items for weight/size in a bag.
I didn’t buy their tripod either and am currently using an old one I had for photography. I did buy two side trays so I could put a collapsible water cup and small travel palette of paint on one side with my brushes on the other side. (I also thought about looking for a little jar with a handle that could hang from the carabiner with water.) I use the tiny metal dual cups for some of my setups and I agree, it would be nice to have the option to use them with the U.Go as well. I would never have thought about the palette knife issue! I use one with acrylic at home, but not when I’m painting with watercolour/gouache.
I’m in Canada and there are a few Canadian online shops that sell U.Go products, so I was fortunate in that respect.

Thanks for sharing! I imagine that working with gouache is a slightly different setup but I hope that u.go is holding up to your workflow!

Hello! I’ve seen some plastic palette knives being sold online. You could try those. Or you could try silicone knives with plastic or wooden handles.
