Not impressed but better.

I think the 4.0’s sound okay stock. But once people start putting on exhausts…meh. I had a 13’ V6 and was completely fine with how it sounded stock.

I personally think their far better off without the muffler and with that im curious to see how it would sound with a vibrant resonator instead of a muffler

The 1GR-FE is just a crappy sounding engine. I think an equal length 6 into 1 is the only thing that would save it.
That being said the Borla sounded the best.

My 3.0 Ranger sounds better than these do. I'd take the Toyota 4.0 in a heartbeat though.

I agree. I like the quietness of the stock exhaust on my 4.0 Tacoma. Most modern engines don't sound very good with an exhaust. Although the 5vz in the older Tacomas sound pretty mean with an exhaust system.
