Replacing mine with Borla after 5 years and a rust hole. It was good while it lasted and my manual made it pop a ton which was fun but sounded like farm machinery on the highway
I went to carven and after a few months I hated everything about it. Switched to a trd exhaust but Toyota doesn’t give it a drain hole so I’m waiting for it to destroy itself. After that I’m doing to the AWE dual.
I just put a flow master super hp2 muffler on mine it has all deep tones sounds like a small V8 and you can get some pops sounds nice and it's loud when you want and quiet when your just putting around only cost me 140$ installed
I have the MBRP on my 2022 and it is insanely loud in the cab. at 70 mph, you cannot hear the passenger talking and if you want to hear the radio .. crank it up to 20. It seems to be louder in the cab that outside the truck. MBRP does not come with exhaust tip even though one is shown in all documentation that I've seen. I'll be looking closely at the Magnaflow overland.
It's a V6. There is no good sounding exhaust except no sound. Toyota even put the fake sound in the new Tundra to drown out the V6 sound because it sounds so bad. The V6 sound ruined the sound of the Raptor.
Just got the R4T high clearance exhaust and it is exactly what I wanted. Enough volume to let you know you are stepping on the gas, minimal drone, practically silent at idle. Plus it was one of the easiest installs I've ever done on a vehicle.
I just threw on a Flowmaster Outlaw on my 2007 4L V6 and it's nasty. It's loud when you put gas to it but pretty quiet and purrs just idling on a warm engine. I love it but will need to add some sound deadening to the rear of the cab at some point.
I have the mbrp. matched it with the big InGen ram air intake system and a pedal commander. it has the best cold start sound and the least "90s ricer" tone of all the options. but it now sits on my garage floor because the drone on the highway is so nasty is gives headaches. so i went back to stock, and theres zero noticeable hit to performance. I dont think the D4S powerplant really cares whether you have a 2.5" stock or 3" aftermarket pipe past the cat, so changing the sound is all these muffler mods really do.
I bought my 2021 off-road DCLB used and the loud exhaust was not communicated to me before I flew all the way to Florida to get it. It’s driving me insane. I’ve honestly come to like the sound of an aftermarket exhaust but cannot stand the droning on the highway. Are there any aftermarket exhausts that give it a nice sound, but don’t drone on road trips?
Will any of these work on a double cab with a SIX foot bed? I Loved the Borla, the Magniflow FX , the Carven and the MBRP. Which ones will work on my truck and which ones are made of 304 or 409 stainless steel? I know that the MBRP is that cheap aluminum steel that simply won’t hold up for years to come.
I’ve got the carven, loved it since the day I got it. Loud when you want, but I can easily go thru my neighborhood in the early morning and not worry about waking people up unless I want to🤪
I had it too. 5 months it was cool but then I couldn’t wait to rip it off. Cruising on the highway had such a bad drone that I almost pulled into a used car lot to buy something and drive home on a long trip.
@@OggaDugga I bought a Tacoma used and the drowning on the highway is making me insane. Did you go back to stock or were you able to find something that still provided a nice tone without the decibel level?
@@codysnyder9038 it’s a little more throaty but that’s it. Next exhaust for me is the awe dual catback. The TRD doesn’t come with the little drain hole for water so it just destroys itself.
On the MBRP exhaust what size pipe is good to use ? I had a 6 cylinder dodge 1500 before and had 3inch pipe on it. What size pipe would be good on my 2020 Tacoma 3.5 liter ??

I’ve heard/read way too complaints about the MBRP rusting out after a year. The majority including myself loves the Carven!
Mbrp is garbage I will never buy their crap again

Yuup that’s what mine is doing
Can't speak to Toyota but I've had MBRP on my 2013 Boss 302 for a long time. No rust issues. Powder coated and still going strong

They definitely sound better with a resonator tip.
Did any of the Tacoma‘s I have a cold air intake they all sound like they did
What’s the average mpg loss with the exhaust in particular the last one shown?
Why would there be any loss from a cat-back exhaust?
I hate the carven now after a year of having it haha
:(
@@ProfessorMikee it was great until the in-cab noise got to me. I went with the magnaflow overland exhaust! Super stoked can’t wait to install it.
Get a 5.7 if you want a good exhaust
Yup I have a Tacoma but I don’t think they sounds good with aftermarket exhausts
How about some that aren’t several hundreds of dollars? There’s plenty of under $100 options.
You get what you pay for, you want your truck to sound like a ricer? Lol cmon

Great nice set up Andrew! I bet that MBRP sounds super throaty!
Carven actually sounds like pick up truck and not a car
Flow master sounded 👍🏼
Carven exhaust
last one sounds like a 350z
I kinda hear it!
Carven!!

My TRD, double cab is the Long Bed so I won’t have to cut anything on the FlowMaster FlowFX dual exhaust
The cabin drone would be the biggest factor for me. How's the drone with the Borla?

Any experience with the carven exhaust?
Do not
Should have been on this list. It’s one of the best without sounding drony
I’m very picky and went with the Carven for Black Friday. Hands down best sounding through the 10+ videos showing it off
Mbrp all the way
What if i am trying to wake the neighbors?
MBRP on sound alone... all day...
Would the mbrp fit a 2023 Tacoma?

It fits my 22 trd offroad.

I'm sorry but you can never make a 6 banger sound good

You are smoking some good shit. Very far from the worst sounding v6. You obviously never heard a 15-22 colorado v6 either, it's truly awful.

Let's hear that Ridgeline 😂😂😂

@@RidgelineJames I actually do prefer the stock exhaust. Has a very distinct sound to it and I can easily identify a Taco just by hearing it.
