Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve had a swollen occipital lymph node for almost 2 years now. When I first found it I freaked out and went to my doctor. She said all she could feel was muscles that were tight so she sent me home with a muscle relaxer which I did not take. A few weeks later I could still feel the swollen lymph node. I knew it was there despite what the other doctor said so I went to a different doctor. It took her a little while to find it but she did indeed find the swollen lymph node. She said it seemed very small and that she wasn’t concerned but that if it did not go away in a few weeks to come back. It did not go away so I came back and we did an ultrasound which showed that it was just a regular swollen lymph node. She said that in time it should go away but if it got bigger to come back and see her. A few weeks later I started having horrific pain in my neck and head. I started getting lightning bolt type headache and my neck was stiff and I was in so much pain. After several months of looking for answers finally an ENT told me he thought I had occipital neuralgia. I pointed out my swollen lymph node and I told him that I never had any pain until my lymph node got swollen and I asked him if there could be a correlation since it’s basically in the exact same spot and he said he did not think it was related. Over the course of the next almost 2 years I have done everything imaginable to try to resolve my neck pain. Physical therapy, massage, exercise, acupressure mat, an oral steroid, naproxen, a muscle relaxer, trigger point injections, acupuncture, cupping, dry needling etc. It got a little better, but I still spent every day of the next two years in pain and searching for answers. I saw many specialists and every time I saw a specialist I would ask them if my swollen lymph node could be related to my occipital neuralgia since they are in the exact same area. Every doctor told me no. I got to the point where I just did not agree and I decided to see if I could focus on getting my lymph node issue addressed seeing if that helps my pain. I went to another doctor and told him how I thought my chronic neck pain is related to my lymph node that has never gone down. He said it was possible and that we should do an ultrasound and take it from there. So we did the ultrasound and again it just showed that it was a swollen lymph node and nothing more. And I asked his nurse who called me if I could speak to the doctor about ways to drain the lymph node or possibly even remove it since it is not seem to be going down. Unfortunately all the doctor did was refer me to a neurologist. I left feeling defeated and frustrated yet again that nobody seems to be taking my swollen lymph node problem seriously. I spoke on the phone to an aunt of mine who also happened to have a swollen occipital of them for two years. She told me that she had a friend who is a nurse that recommend that she drink one cup of red Cloverleaf tea, and one cup of dandelion tea every day to try to flush out the lymph node. I will be honest after everything I’ve tried has failed I was not optimistic but lo and behold my lymph nodes started to go down! I’ve been drinking it for one week now and there are times when my lymph node goes almost completely down and when it does I have no neck pain whatsoever, which tells me that I was correct in my belief that my pain in my muscles and nerves was resulting from the swollen lymph node. I’m happy to know now at least what the primary source of my pain is but unfortunately my lymph node does not seem to want to just stay drained. Throughout the day it will get swollen again and then it will go down but it has not stayed completely gone. I don’t really know where to go from here I guess maybe an ENT again. I wish I would’ve seen your video early on in my journey so that I could’ve had a better understanding of the lymphatic diseases and what I could possibly be dealing with. Such a great resource!

Wow, what a journey! So happy for you that you've found at least something that brings temporary relief. Have you tried to figure out what the active ingredients in the red cloverleaf and dandelion teas are that specifically aid in the drainage? Have you tried massage? I know sometimes the lymphatic system can become clogged and light stroking of the skin surface in key areas can help stimulate drainage.
Crazy that no medical professional you've seen has seriously considered the swelling itself to be the cause of your pain. Any time an organ or tissue becomes swollen, it makes sense that it will potentially affect the tissue and organs surrounding it due to compression of the blood vessels or nerves. I can relate to the disillusionment that results from dismissive medical professionals. It always seems like they just want to do the minimum and will send you off with some random prescription that you know won't help. There is always that one stellar doctor that comes along and really shows you what real care is all about. I had been having issues with anxiety that many doctors dismissed until this one doctor actually listened to me and made me feel he really cared and went out of his way to help me. Frustratingly, he left the clinic I had been seeing him at to work in another state only a few months after first visiting him so my problem wasn't explored further.
Hang in there, someone will come along who will provide the care you need. In the meantime, it's good that you're educating yourself. I agree that this video is extremely helpful. It's to the point and covers everything so succinctly. The fast pace keeps it from getting boring and the narrator's delivery is engaging. Best of luck and be sure to give us an update on your condition!

My legs have been swelling bad for a few years and finally got worse and worse. Reg Doc diagnosed me with chronic venous insufficiency and sent me for ultrasound to rule out any clots. Go to the vein specialist hoping to get more educated on the root of problem. Nope. No clot, wear compressions, continue exercise. She didn’t palpitate nothing, didn’t even look at the back of my legs. So it slowly gets worse. Fast fed thru lots of study and experimentation. My lymphatics were congested. I created an AM & PM lymphatic PT routine and after about 3 weeks I really saw improvement with my edema. If I miss a day it starts to build back up of course but I am so encouraged to learn of things to do at home to unclog these lymph node site pathways so my dry brushing, pulling, massager, trampoline, & exercise are now all getting work well. Before it would just pool up in my joints! I now do facial lymph stuff too and the puffs under my eyes are gone. I’ve had them for years!
So learn the order to getting lymph node areas unclogged first then do home lymph work. If we stay congested we get very ill (in which I am) but Farma trainedcschools don’t teach this stuff and Docs just dismiss a lot of stuff because they just don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I learned from 2 people. Dr Perry @stopchasingpain and Dr Caitlin @Doc.talks.detox in IG
Dr Perry Nickelston has great TH-cams

OMG you’ve got no idea how sick I have been for the past four years and now I am really really sick and my doctor is still looking at diabetes B12 iron thyroid, vitamin D deficiencies and I watch this and this is exactly what’s been happening to me and I am so sick and I live in Australia and our health system is up the shit because we employ all these doctors from Third World countries. Thank you for posting this. I am going to take this video to my Dr and say I will sue you for doing this to me. This all started when they wanted a mammogram, and I said I have no breasts. Just give me the ultrasound and picks up more anyway. Anyway I went in to the place to get an ultrasound, but the girl that does the mammogram said I promise you I promise you I won’t hurt you well the next day I had a lump under my armpit the size of a golf ball you see the ducks in my breasts had cyst. She basically had squashed all the infection into under my armpits. That was 2 1/2 years ago, since then, my health has gone downhill, just the other day, I put my arms up to hang some washing up and my arms went numb. I nearly passed out. Last week I got up took two steps. Couldn’t breathe. Not breathless. I actually couldn’t breathe ran outside because I had nobody at home had a cracking migraine. I Tried to ring 000 no answer because all our ambos have gone to Sydney at the moment. I am so angry but I’m so grateful that you put this video up. Thank you so very much I’ll just add for the past few years since that mammogram staining started to happen all over my legs halfway down my leg to my feet mainly on my feet my legs swell. They checked my arteries and found out I have narrowing of the femoral artery in my left leg. My doctor just said, take aspirin you’ll be right like I said I am so angry at the moment.

Up to about 2 years ago I didn't know anything about the lymphatic system but after developing huge tumours on my hand leading to an amputation of a finger I soon found out about it.A condition that had been misdiagnosed originally as eczema and then psoriasis, plus for a bit ORF, turned out to be none of them but a destructive lymphoma called Mycosis Fungoides which had reached stage 2b by diagnosis. They lymph nodes swell up due to skin infections but where they don't return to normal I'm guessing that the MF cells have lodged in there but they won't remove it until it reaches about 15mm and it's about 6mm at the moment.
