@@quentenmajoor5861 If they add a new ground-up woodie, it'll probably be an **out-and-back GravityKraft** (they need a solid family thrill coaster that's not as intense as Ragin' Cajun') behind Mind Eraser (would fit in great with the steampunk theme they're going for), going up to Superman. There's no way SFA is getting anything huge - KD will be getting more attention when the merger's finalized.

People have been asking for RMC Roar since RMC started reimagining coasters. I hope it happens and they don’t just “new trains and titan track” it. That’s not enough. They honestly should have just replaced Mind Eraser with a P’sghetti bowl coaster and make that steam town area more family oriented, then RMC Roar in 2025, like you said. But that all costs more money than the bare minimum, which is what SFA usually operates on. You’re right, it would attract WAY more people in the area if the park got more love: better security, better operations, a couple new rides/coasters, refurbishing their existing rides, etc etc …But, i’m not holding my breath on that. In a perfect world, they RMC Roar, scrap Mind Eraser and Batwing-Replacing both with new gen Vekoma STC and launched Flying coasters, and give all older coasters new trains and retracking. That’d be like $50 Million though. Lol so, that’ll never happen… 😢

SFA is going to be even lower in the pecking order if/when the merger is finalized. And an RMC of Roar just wouldn't compete well with Wildcat's Revenge. Assuming Six Flags does keep the park, they'll do everything they can to differentiate it from KD. That means removing Flight of Fear from KD and ideally relocating it to WoF. And is SFA probably better off adding a couple Titan Track inversions and Infinity Flyer trains to Roar. Same goes for Boss at STL.

  • @Commanders2022

I would love this for my home park, unfortunately, I don’t see it happening. They’re closing whistlestop park forever and are relocating some of the kiddie rides to other sections of the park. They just removed zydeco zinger and it is rumored that fireball is being removed as well since it was removed from the fright fest map and closed almost all year.
The water coaster that was marketed for a summer 2023 opening didn’t start construction until late August and the park didn’t even acknowledge it.
The steamtown upgrades are cool, but it wont increase attendance. They took away holiday in the park and now they are the only park in the area that doesn’t have a winter event.
They let kings dominion and Hershey beat them to getting RMC hybrids.
Batwing’s shelf life will probably be ending in the next 5 years.
Most of the coasters ran 1 train all season and lines still didn’t exceed 20 mins.
I will say the park has stepped up its entertainment this year, but the park definitely gets boring after a couple hours.
I honestly think the park is better off selling and rebranding because the park’s reputation has gone downhill since the mid 2000s, especially with the better park options in the area.

I agree about the low attendance at Six Flag America. "If they build it then people will come". I live in Northern Delaware and consider Great Adventures my home park but I could also go to Six Flags America too and be there in like 1 and 1/2 hrs, plus or minus. Heck, I just went to baltimore to meet a friend for seafood brunch last week. I did go to Six flags America one time but I was in the parking lot and the energy felt so drab, there was no greeting from a coaster line, no one seemed excited. So, I drove back to Delaware and never went inside. Mind you, going inside would not have cost anything extra because I have an SFGadv season pass

Same area. It’s literally the same amount of time to get to SFA, SFGAd or Hershey. I have been to SFA cause I was down there for a race but half the rides were down. Heck I had tried to go another time since I was again in the area for a race, showed up, the app said the park was open and there was no announcement on Facebook, but it wasn’t open.
They have a staffing issue worse than other parks if you ask me. Why go down there for it when there’s better parks just as far? Heck even Dorney isn’t that much further

Realistically, the best thing Six Flags could do is work with Intamin to add a fresh coat of paint to Superman, plus some airtime pops, tunnels, and headchoppers (Fortress-of-Solitude-themed) to the helix. That would do much more for the park than RMC'ing Roar - it'd be very tough to top both Wildcat's Revenge AND Twisted Timbers. So making their marquee coaster a true standout hyper is probably the best bang for their buck. Adding a couple Titan Track inversions and Infinity Flyer trains to ROAR probably makes the most sense there.

First, when speaking about SFA, giving the it's location alone, people already have a profiling mentality about it.
Second, they're willing to travel in additional 90 minutes to up to 3 hours, towards another theme park, trying to avoid visiting to Six Flags America.
Third, without the proper attendance, thier operating budget remains small, and working with that small sum of corporate money, thier operations, efficiency, training, and up keep maintaining are at a bare minimum, thanks to immature people's mindset.
Additionally, they're wondering why, or complaining about SFA, don't get any multi-million dollar new attraction for the following seasons.

I'm on the opposite spectrum regarding SFA. They only get relocations or rides that can easily be relocated. Like you said the location is insane which makes the land this park sits on worth a fortune. I personally think SF has and is continuing to consider selling the park for the land. I think they've been in the "maybe maybe not" phase for years now. Honestly since Batwing there is nothing that indicates they were ever really committed to this park, despite all of the parks around them continuing to grow and improve.

    • @brianfoss571
      @brianfoss571 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, the land is valuable, but I don't think they'll get rid of the park unless the DOJ forces them to in order to approve the merger. Herschend or Merlin might be interested in buying to take advantage of the DC market, but it requires substantial investment and rebranding. Otherwise, I doubt the new Six Flags would close it unless they'd be able to relocate Superman. And while I wouldn't rule out Michigan's Adventure getting it, that's a bit of a stretch (and really the only park in the combined chain without a hyper where it would fit). So I'm skeptical it'll close for good. More likely it'll function as a useful dump for relos with the occasional new family coaster.

I've said for years that Roar needs the Iron Horse makeover. Also Batwing should finally be removed (it only runs one train and operations are horrendously slow).
Edit: What hurts Six Flags America is that it has a bad reputation; plus it's 2 hours north of King's Dominion. And from SFA it's about 2.5 hours to Hershey Park and about 3.5 to Great Adventure.

  • @zacg_
    @zacg_ 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

I think Six Flags and Cedar Fair must have done some serious market research and concluded that the market is somewhat saturated between the DC area and Philadelphia. Or at least that the region has enough major parks that no single addition to either SFA or Dorney is going to dramatically shift their market share. Otherwise, I can't understand why those two parks have been neglected so badly. SFA by all rights should be a top 4 Six Flags park and same is true for Dorney. Both are in metro areas that are huge AND are tourist destinations such that the parks could become major destinations.
I'm glad Dorney is getting their new B&M but the overall pattern is still not great. And SFA is arguably the worst Six Flags park and it just makes no sense.

I’m sure that SF plans on giving The Boss from SFSTL and Roar in SFA an RMC treatment for 2025. Both of those parks are not my home SF parks. Since they will be spending a lot more money on new attractions for 2025, they can give my home park SFOG an RMC Raptor. They probably planned it a few years ago but Covid caused it to be delayed. They also can totally benefit from having one and place it near the parking lot where Pandemonium is located and remove the go carts allowing in their newest parking lot roller coaster since their Deja Vu was once standing there.

If the SLC doesn’t track well which I’ve heard is the case, the new trains won’t matter. T3 and condor at Walibi Holland didn’t have the head banging restraints and they are the 2 worst coasters I’ve been on. By comparison, Thunderhawk at Michigan’s adventure actually tracks well with the “head banging” restraints. Comes down to tracking on those SLC. Not sure they are getting a new coaster in 2025 considering done six flags parks got nothing in 2024 and I would expect the capital to go to sone of these parks like Magic mountain, New England, and Mexico

Unpopular opinion: Six Flags America needs to axe the train upgrades for Mind Eraser. Removing and replacing it with a Vekoma SFC is about as good as they'll get for a new coaster in the short term. They closed multiple flats last season, so a popular family coaster that's less intense than Ragin' Cajun will balance out their lineup well. Also, even if Six Flags were willing to invest, an I-Box conversion of ROAR will likely be inferior to Wildcat's Revenge. SFA should go for Titan Track inversions and Infinity Flyer trains instead.

Six Flags getting more and better rides in 2025 than Cedar Fair isn't that outlandish. Of the major parks in each chain, Great America and Magic Mountain could each be in line for a new coaster (Great America not having got one in 6 years by then, and Magic Mountain...is Magic Mountain), and really the only parks where a new big coaster is completely off the table are Great Adventure and Great Escape. Some are less likely than others, sure, but there's a non zero chance Fiesta Texas could get another thrill coaster in 2025, since they're one of the favorite parks lately. Cedar Fair, conversely, almost certainly won't put a new thrill coaster at Cedar Point or Kings Island, the most likely to get record breakers. That leaves a combination of Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, and Knotts to maybe get one or two top rides. Plus the possibility of Valleyfair if the chain continues the small park additions. The wild card is Kings Dominion. They still need that Volcano replacement, and it's been since 2019 that that area of land has been without a coaster.

No, but Ive never had any poorer ops than what Ive seen at SFGAdv, Dorney, or Carowinds. If anything, Ive seen much friendlier ops at SFA than many other parks. As far as the clientele, again, no issues. Do you occasional see someone doing something stupid? Sure, but Ive seen line jumping much worse at many other parks. Is it a "best in class" park? No, but its not worthy of the hate it gets. The biggest problem the park has is that they havent invested in the park as much as they should have so much of the park looks dated and the park lacks "modern" attractions.

If this were confirmed, this would make all 3 of my homeparks have an RMC. 4 if you count Hersheypark.

There is nothing wrong with using a two-bench PTC on a twister. A 3 bench, maybe. But the two bench rides better than the MF trains rain on Wildcat. I agree however, Roar needs to be RMC’d. it was great when it opened, but that was a long time ago!

I live outside of Baltimore and I would rather drive the 3 or 4 hours and go to KD or BGW or Hershey🤷‍♂️. I truely believe this park has potential but roaming packs of ignorant teenagers make me feel like I’m gonna need a lawyer or a bail bondsman everytime I’ve been there. I’m not a grumpy old man or anything but I’m not talking about just regular kids having fun and being obnoxious,I’m talking about the little punks that want to start fights and ruin families days at the park

Maybe I have been in a cave for a month or two, But why the name change on the channel? I actually lost a family member and stayed off social media. Really though why the name change?

Hey! How are you holding up? Sorry for your loss... I wanted to create a diff name because TPP was very niche and I do a lot more than just predictions :)

Because I don't always do prediction videos and wanted a name that wasn't so niche :)

Six flags America has a location problem.....plus they are smack dab in the middle of parks they have a long way to go to compete with.....It would take a lot and frequent additions to get more people to want to continue to come to the park other than the local clientele. Hershey , Great Adventure, Dorney, Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens are all better maintained with superior ride selection. Wild One is not a decent ride the best rides are Superman and Jokers Jinx. and KD has Jokers Jinx and a hyper coaster is everywhere. Putting a new train on a SLC is not a huge improvement it just makes it somewhat tolerable. Zamperla Nebulaz is already at Hershey and has a super low capacity and short ride time. RMC ing Roar is unlikely to top wildcats revenge or Twisted Timbers. It would be a start but the rip out of batwing with a new say vekoma flyer something nobody in the country let alone in the area except superman at great adventure has would be a great start.

Joker's Jinx is way better than the garbage that is flight of fear at KD. Ki and KD should both remove flight of fear. That and backlot. Garbage coasters from the paramount era. Wild one is a great coaster and well maintained. It's the 2nd best in the park behind superman, then joker's Jinx then roar. However you forgot to mention Knoebels, which has free parking and is free to walk around, and has the best food of any park in the world according to amusement today golden ticket awards and has won that for many years in a row now. Dorney and sfa are about the same in that neither has received a newly built coaster for two decades or more despite being mid sized corporate chain owned parks near several large metro areas. That all changes next year with dorney getting a B&M dive coaster, and their water park is huge and blows sfa's out of the water, other than that they are similar parks. Kings Dominion is vastly overrated and probably my 2nd least favorite park in the mid Atlantic. Cedar fair has improved it slightly, but nowhere near what they've done for Canada's wonderland, kings island and Carowinds. It's slightly better than sfa but not by much. And bgw has gone in the tank since Anheuser Busch bailed and the sea world chain started having its problems. They removed big bad wolf, the best and most popular thrilling family coaster there. They replaced it with verbolten, which by all accounts is nowhere near as good. Across from that they put in a drop tower that had serious maintenance and operational problems and had to remove it after a decade. From what I've read tempesto isn't very good. And pantheon and invader do well in the rankings, especially pantheon, but invader is a small wooden coaster, nowhere near on par with el toro, phoenix, lightning racer, or even wild one at sfa. So that leaves Hershey Park and great adventure, which obviously blow sfa out of the water, but that's only two of the five parks you mentioned in the mid Atlantic as being way better. So improving sfa and making it more attractive to guests and competitive with the other parks in the mid Atlantic except the big two is not that hard and costly. Remove mind eraser and batwing because they are rough and horrible. Make roar smoother or turn it into a clone of joker at discovery kingdom, which would be very popular with guests, most of whom will have never been to discovery kingdom. Keep maintaining wild one as the excellent coaster that it is. Lastly and most importantly, vastly improve the water park by adding new slides and other amenities and theming now that you've removed 10 slides in the past year to better compete with the parks that include free and better water parks with their theme park admission ticket like dorney, KD, and Hershey Park. Do all of that, and the locals will continue to enjoy a season pass that gets them free parking and admission to an improved sfa, and one of the best parks in the world great adventure, just like I enjoyed from 1997-2021 when I moved out of MD and the mid Atlantic.

@anthonyfinch8118 sorry I didn't forget knoebels....it isn't going to draw your average person most don't even know it exists even though its one of my favorites..most people in my area don't even know six flags america exists....or would they even think of traveling around the beltway or through the 95 parking lot that is south of dc to get to it. Despite your low opinion of bgw which has also declined in my opinion but they hit it out of the park with pantheon....and of kings dominion which still has a great overall collection and two of the best coasters in the region if not country The majority of enthusiasts rate both of these parks in a different league then six flags america they both have had there decline i agree...I personally don't routinely travel to dorney but maybe once a year because it is the least reward for me plus i have to go past hershey and turn down knoebels and not want to drive to jersey. its just another park that that region north of dc and especially with the water park and dive coaster coming puts it way ahead of six flags america. Do i make the trip to sfa yes but only because my easy pass makes it easier coming from the east and mostly for superman and harley and I do agree about jynx but the rest of the rides are not going to draw me there. The point is roar rmc isn't going to woo anyone as hershey and KD already have better rides than roar west (joker) and a SLC with new trains especially one as bad as serial thriller isn't either. Just like a small rebranding of iron wolf to a floor less that kings dominion and dorney already have far superior than. SfA needs something unique and like I said frankly it's in a bad geo location that has it already at a disadvantage.
