      Thanks Tim! I am a sailor who has been working on the rubber to metal industry for more than 25 years. I am an owner of a sunfast 37, when you have a boat, either you have lots of money or you learn how to fix things and do it yourself. 3 years ago I decided to make my own company to make flexible engine mounts for Yanmar engines. I have optimised the design of the part to resist at higher forces in traction and longevity. I have improved the anti corrosive coating too. I am pleased to see that you are satisfied. That gives me the thrill to continue. When you start a business, nothing is easy. If by any chance you have pictures of the mounts and your boat that would be very appreciated. I want to make a book of the sailboats that have my mounts on.

    I'm supposed to change my 2GM20F engine mount but held back due to lack of info. From other TH-camrs' video, I was wondering why the need to remove the brackets from engine body instead of just unscrew the mount and lift the engine some. After seeing your video I understand it now. Thank you.

    Excellent description, it really helpt me,ınginefound when I was installing my Yanmar engine, alignment: if there is a gap left or right side, in this case, how does it align, by moving the motor on mounts by pushing left right?

      Correct! I have explained in this article: www.ellebogen.com/en/correcting-propshaft-offset-using-the-slotted-holes-of-the-engine-mounts/

    So three mounts and a block under the sump (resting on the hull bottom !) holds the engine in place without over stressing the remaining mounts or the hull . ?

    • @EllebogenOfficial
      @EllebogenOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Replacing one mount at a time and with a generous block will work. If you want to see a real case here is a link that could perhaps interest you www.ellebogen.com/en/yanmar-2gm20-video-recorded-replacement-report-by-bricolaje-nautico-youtube-channel/

    How many boats have the propeller shaft in a horizontal position? None.

      True. You are right. I was focused on the process. You are totally right.

    What is the principle advantage in swapping out ones engine mounts? Could i expect any reduction in noise or vibration?

    • @geozantrox666
      @geozantrox666 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You just do that when they are worn out. Latest yanmar ones are built with shit material and will rust in 3-4 years

    • @EllebogenOfficial
      @EllebogenOfficial  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are several reasons. An engine that vibrates excessively will worn several components of the transmission, letting water in the bilge. Apart from that the advantage is lower noise and vibration. Here is a document that can be of interest: ellebogen.com/en/how-to-detect-that-marine-engine-mounts-need-to-be-replaced/

    All agreed and simple in principle, but you are assuming to have plenty space in your engine room and that all those bolts would come off that easily, which is never the case

      The video pretends to explain the process. For real cases, I have a blog where you will be able to see replacement of mounts in different sizes sailboats. ellebogen.com/en/blog/

      This is a pending video for me. Most of the users, do it in the hard as we do not want to take risks. But essentially the front ones are replaced by lifting the engine as on this report:ellebogen.com/en/volvo-md-2020-saildrive-engine-mount-replacement-video-report-recorded-by-txemacapitan/
