Oh Lord, i confess that my life does not often show fruits of repentence. I absolutely loathe my sin. I pray, purge me with hyssop and i shall be clean every whit! I desire nothing so much as to bear fruits meet for repentence and no longer grieve the Holy Spirit! With tears of conviction, i cry out to You, Holy Spirit, give me strength to overcome backsliding sins, sins of words and deeds and even very thoughts! I cannot live without You Lord! I cherish Your Word in Matthew 11:28

I share this as well many times. Try studying the verses to combat specific sins and use the sword of the spirit to combat the temptations. Remember to PRAY and resist when temptations come and Satan will flee from you. God does not test you more than what you can handle, but gives you a means of escape for every temptation. God strengthen you.

We just have to keep walking with him in earnest until the end. John 15: 4 "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." It's the word of God going out that awakens people, so we can be used wherever we are called to serve. The Holy Spirit is in us to help us do so. The truth sets us free. We are all called to evangelize those we are before whatever gifts we have; for that is our Great commission. God wants His children out of the world.

When I was 16 I started to read the Bible every day, study it and go to church during the week and twice on Sundays as much as I could. I tried to be better but after a year I felt more sinful and instead of better, worst. One night I could not sleep and I felt depressed I started to cry out to the Lord and said: “Lord God I deserve Hell but I cannot for eternity be separated from You.” I saw that one who dies without Christ will instantly be separated from our Creator.
I saw that God The Father was well pleased with Jesus when He died at the cross and gave His Blood for many. I said Lord God If you are pleased with that scarifies at the Cross why Would I not be pleased with it. I saw that Christ was nailed to the Cross for my sins, and cried out: “My God My God why have You forsaken Me, so that I never will be forsaken by My Heavenly Father. Looking to Christ alone and not my righteousness. At that moment peace came into my heart. Peace With God that no one can understand except only through the Holy Spirit, I felt that the Blood of Christ had washed my sins away. I felt as if I was walking in Paradise without Sin. I was 17 at that time. I’m 82 now.
I know My Lord God hears our prayers I have 11 children from one marriage, The Lord has been good to me always. I had no income whatsoever for 2 years with 11 small children. However every day we had everything we needed. My wife had to go to Holland for her mom’s funeral, we did not have the money for the flight. On the day we needed to book and pay, an envelop with the money needed $1500 was in our mailbox.

God can save you however he sees fit. If you were saved under one circumstance, that does not by any stretch mean that everyone else is saved the same way you were. What it does mean is that it is the same God who saved both. Everyone is different and what pricks one person's heart might not prick another's. So God does what only God can do.

      Jesus's Word is the standard.
In John ch 10 5 times Jesus said, My Sheep hear my voice, and the know me.
Jesus saved me at home because I thought religion was stupid and simply wouldn't go to church, and he saved me by speaking to me, when I heard Jesus speak I was changed immediately, the things I loved before hearing Jesus speak I now despise and the things I despised before hearing Jesus speak I now love.
It happened so quickly after he changed me I thought, how did Jesus do that?
It took me a couple weeks to find the answer .
John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, WHEN THE DEAD HEAR THE VOICE OF THE SON OF GOD: and THEY THAT HEAR WILL LIVE.
Again in John 18:37 Jesus tells Pilate, "Everyone who is born of truth hears my voice."
      Again
      Matthew 10:27
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
Also in Matthew 7:23 Jesus said to the lost, DEPART FROM ME, I NEVER KNEW YOU.
This implies no one will enter heaven unless they Know Jesus Personally.
And Jesus is God, the Everlasting Father, as Isaiah said in ch 9:6

Seems the walk is not easy for any of us but God helps us and keeps us. You might get through one thing and find another thing to work on. Take heart in this because God makes us aware of things and tackles them with us. He wants us to go to him when we lack strength. He wants us to lean on him when we need to and grow to trust him in all things. Trust in who he is. His love; his mercy; his teaching; his ways. In our weakness his strength is made perfect and in knowledge of our current shortcomings; it is easier to be humble before him. Take it to him in prayer. Again and again. Keep obedient. Walking ever forward. Learning to trust him. I believe you will break through :)

John 6:37 tells us that ALL that the Father sends to His Son shall come to Him. We are born in sin, dead spiritually. God has to awaken our minds in order to understand and believe in Jesus as the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world for our sins.
We continue in a dead state until God makes us alive in Christ. Then God does a wonderful work in us that He chooses.

Do you understand Acts 2:38? Because most have a misinterpretation of it. Because that verse isn't saying the good work of water baptism is necessary to be saved. Let me give you an example before I explain. "I'm getting my kid a toy FOR his birthday." "For" here isn't saying that the toy is cauing my kids birthday to be the case. It's saying because of. Same for Acts 2:38. Because we are saved, we get water baptized.
      Ephesians 1:13-14 ESV
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, [14] who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

You are correct when you say, "Because most have a misinterpretation of it." I think you are one of the good folk who is misinterpreting the verse.
" For" does not mean "because of." Neither the literal meaning of the Greek text nor the translation into English is convincing enough to lead to conclude that for means because of.
You also need to look at the context of the passage(Scripture interprets Scripture).
Paul responded to a question from guilty sinners, "what shall we do?" It is clear from the context, that Paul's response is the description of how sins are remitted.

    • @GogglesOstrich
      @GogglesOstrich 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

@recoveredcalvinist You actually need to practice interpreting Scripture with Scripture here. Let's look at the full biblical context (the Bible has no contradictions).
      Romans 11:6 ESV
But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.
So by grace means no works required.
      Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [9] not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
So we are saved by grace. Through Jesus' work on the cross alone. This makes it clear that Acts 2:38 can't mean that we must do a good work to be saved

Romans 11, is addressed to the Jewish Christians in the Church in Rome. Context is key! The Gentile Christians in the Church in Rome were feeling all high and mighty. Perhaps they were thinking that the had replaced the Jews as God's people. (This is another discussion for a different time) Anyway, there was a Jewish remnant in the Rome church. 11:6 explains that the Jewish remnant is saved by grace, not by works(Old Testament law)/Jewish legalism.
The Epistles were written to established churches. There is no plan of salvation in any of them.
John informs us that Jesus told Nicodemus what he must do. He must be born again. Nicodemus was confused and Jesus continued to explain.
      Matthew 28: 18-20, Mark 16: 15-16 specifically speak on baptism. Luke 24: 47 &
John 20:21 imply it due to what the Apostles were told/commissioned to do by Jesus.

The "washing of regeneration" of Titus 3:5 occurs during water baptism.
Because of the shed blood of Christ during water baptism, the Holy Spirit curcumcises our conscience, removing the guilt brought about by wilful sin and restores' it to its' original childlike innocence.
The word " regeneration" in the new testaments' original Greek means "to return something to its' original state."
The original state of our conscience is that of an innocent child. This makes what occurs as the result of our obedience to repent and be water baptized being " born of the water" in John 3:5.
The writer of Hebrews states that under the old covenant that the blood of bulls and goats was ineffective in dealing with " consciousness of sin"( Hebrews 10:1,2) which is guilt.
Thus, their sins were only covered, resulting in the Spirit of God only occupying the Holy Of Holies temporarily.
This resulted in the rights having to be repeated each year.
The blood of animals couldn't deal with the guilt resulting from wilful sin, but the blood of Christ did and does.
Now, the Holy Spirit can dwell in the " temple" of the believers' body on a permanent basis.

" make disciples of all nations " ( Matthew 28:18-20 ) This is the recording of Christ's own physical words given as a command to the very men He Himself made into disciples! The command comes to us through the downline of their obedience to the command. John 14:15. I am a follower of Christ Jesus, Luke 9:23, I witness of Christ alone in this world Acts 1:8 Yet I, deserve not even one, accolade for that fact! Christ alone has gifted me the grace and faith to be those things in this world that God still so loves! ( Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16-18 ) I have been made a disciple of Christ Jesus by that same gifted grace and faith! Both in my discipler and me. Our full obedience, ( John 14:15 ) to " make disciples of all nations " answers the prayer to the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers for the fields ripe unto harvest. Putting feet into ministry not just butts in pews. Equipping others for the work of service. Ephesians 4:11-13, 2:10, 2 Timothy 2:1-2, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 15:1-8.

Well, they don't agree they indeed believe in extremism because each church believes standing on the truth. But the Lord Jesus Himself prophesied His churches are affected with leaven. Matt. 13:33. Extreme teachings are countered with another extreme teachings. But at least Christian churches are believing in the same Jesus Christ and the same Holy Spirit under grace system of mercy and truth.

At the time of the crucifixion, when Peter denied the Lord; he was not infilled, was not a new creation, was not a regenerate man.
However, Peter did have the truth written on his heart. Every person born of flesh, that is in Adam, that is a natural man/person, has within them a standard of right and wrong. You do not have to be a new creation to know you need to be a new creation.
Ok Paul Washer @11:30ish God spoke through the gospel….this is a LIE. Please don’t be stupid, don’t be taken in by a liar. What does scripture say concerning the natural man? Before you’re saved, if you are saved, each of us is a natural man/person. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. The word of God in scripture is not meant or able to save anyone. Here is what it is intended to do. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that (the man of God) may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (NOT the natural person…… the one that is already a child of the adoption)
These men at the least don’t know anything about salvation, and at worst are deliberately misleading for financial gain.
    Then how are you saved?
I am going to tell you and ask nothing at all in return except that you dig deep into what I am saying here to know if its true.

The FACTS of the gospel are a SERIES of Truth Propositions to Natural Born liars. Liars about God and TO God. The gospel is Corrective, it Speaks a DIFFERENT Truth. And it offers ONE Solution : The blood of Jesus Christ. The gospel is LIGHT to the 'darkened understanding'.
If God, in His Mercy - an absolutely Free prerogative of God - DECIDES to give the gift of Faith...then 100% of the time : God's gift of Faith results in Salvation.
The darkened mind now has OPENED CURTAINS with Light of God's Person and Work, Truthfully cascading into the recesses of previous misunderstanding...
And the Heart is changed, the seat of desires : the heart. Desires begin changing. Directly and in relation to God's Propositional and expositional Truth in the Bible.

So your statement that "3 claim to be saved" has no basis whatsoever in the parable. Christ said that all who believe in Him will not perish, but have eternal life (Joh. 3:16). I trust those words.

Paul said we were dead, means if we biologically die then we die for all eternity so its is in the end biological. Choose truth jesus and live repent before he comes,
Gods view on marriage is the only way to truly do it and also in the church. Get back to gods corect oreder.

15:00 Washer is unaware of the contradictory nature of reformed doctrine here.
Evangelicals are in a fish bowl filled with introspection, sin and judgement. They spend lots of energy getting their audiences to believe how sinful they are, falling short of God's glory etc, in order that they seek God's grace alone for salvation. Think Luther's simul peccator et justus for example. "I'm a sinner saved by grace". "My works are dirty rags", "No distinction, all have sinned", "Evil". etc. Its basically a dead faith - cheap grace position.
Then some occasionally read passages in the bible, like those quoted here and argue transformation from a prior sinner-spiritually dead state, life long repentance, necessary evidence of good fruit etc - contradicting the primary message above, by implying there ought to be a distinction between those with a living faith and those who are dead in their transgressions.
Not being aware of the following which Luther could not solve. ‘It is difficult and dangerous to teach that
    1) we are justified by faith without works (your a sinner needing God's grace) and yet
    2) require works (your transformed so we expect a changed lifestyle) at the same time.’ (LW 27.62)

      That’s not what he’s teaching.
A truly regenerate heart shows through how you become a new creation-once someone is born again.
Your fruit is evidence of salvation. That’s what shows in a believers fruit. A believer has a different relationship with sin. The fruit is evidenced by their “works.”

Sproul has really messed this up. When you are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, you receive power to live a holy life. Sproul's understanding of Romans 7 is wrong. In Roman's 7, Paul is speaking about his struggles in the flesh, under the law, not as a Spirit filled Christian.
