9 Well. The auricular confession, that is to say the confession of the sins to a priest or a pastor, is a human institution. The Apostles, since the time of the Lord Jesus-Christ, instituted the public confession by the power that the Lord Jesus-Christ Himself had given to them in John 20:23. The public confession was abolished by the end of the 3rd century and was replaced by the auricular confession, which was established by Saint Benedict, founder of the Benedictine order, but not with remission of sins. In the year 1215, the auricular confession was imposed at the Council of the Lateran and made obligatory, then, two years later at the Council of Trent, it became an absolute dogma. It was in the year 758 that the auricular confession was introduced in the West by the religious orders of the East in replacement of the public confession.
10 And after the auricular confession, the priest said: "I absolve you as much as I can and as you need it." Instead of saying: "May God forgive your sins and mine!"
11 And in collusion with the priests, some kings and emperors took advantage of the auricular confession to commit crimes. King Louis XI used to confess once he had committed a great crime and he had, therefore, his heart relieved and a free conscience. And he often confessed, and yet if it was the public confession, he would not do it. And in that same time, this practice was protecting their throne. In Normandy, a young man confessed to a priest saying that he had intended to kill king Francis I. The priest informed the king and it followed what you know. And if it was in public confession, the king could not do anything to that young man. You see?
Pastor Washer scares the poop out of me. Listening to him helped me to leave my church of “happy happy joy joy God loves us and we’re all nice people” after I realized there was a whole lot of the Bible that was being ignored. Thank you Pastor Washer!

Just remember, we don’t save anyone - not our spouse, not our kids, not our parents, not our friends…. We plant the seed, others come along and water it, but God is the one that makes it grow. It’s never too late. It may be that all you can do for them at this point is to pray. Leave it in God’s hands. He is extraordinarily merciful.

Here we have Jesus telling us to observe what they say about what Moses wrote.
How do Christians get past this?
Every time I listen Pastor Paul talking God's word, I'm encouraged and my desire for the Lord grow stronger and take me closer to Christ. We need more of godly men like Him who talks about God and His truth with power.
He keeps me on the straight and narrow.. I used to be a sinner like no other!! Recently I been searching for God. And Paul reminds me every time I'm on the right path. I absolutely love this.

In Jesus' day, when anyone was seen carrying a cross on the road out of the city, crowds would gather - because they knew that there was going to be an execution. A cross means death to the person carrying it!
Denying oneself means death to one's own wishes and desires, and doing what our new Master tells us to do. That's death to self.

Like so many people I was (mis)diagnosed with not only SAD and Anxiety disorder but Chemical-imbalance which has been formerly known as alcoholism/drug addiction, I fell into the trap of accepting the "fact" that I'm going to die a heroin addict and an alcoholic, tossed my career, all my possessions, marriage, relationship with my loved ones, down the drain to become a career "street pharmacist". I traded my brother's and sisters marriages, my grandparents funerals, quality time with my close friends and loved ones for a circular-life fueled by addiction, violence, pain, anger, withdrawal and blaming others for the mistakes I made. Meanwhile God was patiently waiting and protecting me... Although it took me well over 10 years, I gave up the self-reliant lifestyle to our Lord Jesus Christ and my dad at least got to see his son come home before he passed from a heart-attack in my hands on the bathroom floor. Although I really, really miss him, I can't wait to join him in praising God for everything good He has done in my life...

I'm so humbled reading these comments. Recently the woman I thought I was going to marry ended things for very worldly reasons. Yes we made idols of each other and traded reading and praying which was a staple for going out to eat and watching movies. I've been begging and begging God to bring her back but over and over I hear him say " am I enough" I have to cry cause my heart is in a place where he isn't. The pain is to deep. Reading what my brother and sisters are sharing here has really helped shift my focus.

I have been struggling with this very same thing. My fiance and I are still together but we have let worldly things distract us from what is most important. The most sobering aspect of our relationship right now is the problems we have been having lately, and it's because we took our focus off of the only one that should matter for the both of us. Let God be true and every man a liar. Prayer ad the study of God's word must be the foundation for everything in our lives.
I recently went through a breakup as well, we were to get married. It hurts deeply but every time I go on my knees to pray to God to bring him back, I'm reminded that we were not meant to be. I can only pray for God's strength because I don't know where to begin, I'm weak but my trust is in the Lord.

The other day, I had a revelation from God. I get it too from my friends and family. The jabs at my faith, the taunting, invalidating, ignoring the fruit that God is producing in my life..
Those are the fiery darts of the enemy that Ephesians 6 speaks about. They're a challenge to our faith. That's why we need the shield of faith so that no matter what anyone says, no matter what they do to you, your faith is strong and unshakable.
Ephesians 6:16 NKJV
[16] above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Wow, I needed to hear this message today. My husband is a unbeliever and we had a arguement about allowing my son to go to sunday school. He grew up in a Catholic Church and thinks every church is full of paedophiles.... This life is short, eternity is forever... I believe in being a submissive wife, even if he is a unbeliever, but I will not back down on this issue.... Glory to God ❤❤❤

THE GOOD NEWS

Blood coming from his body, NAKED, hanging on that cross like Roman torture weapon! What a Lord God and Savior! He had to. HE is God the Son. Only His sinless blood could pay our sins price.1 John 2:1-2. The Savior was born to die for our sins so we could live through Him. He lives to make intercession for us by His blood in Heaven! Hebrews 4:14-16. See also 1 John 1:5-10 & Romans 5:8 below.
>>> God knew your predicament before the world was made! Ephesians 1:1-14. Prayer goes out for you and those here. A CROWN in Heaven awaits all who share the Gospel of Jesus Christ that saves a soul. JESUS SAVES
God the Son (Jesus Christ) has given us the gospel to share with the world. Mark 16:15: "And He said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
How can we hear it? Scripture tells us. Romans 10:17 "Then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (We receive the "word" in many ways. The "Word" is Jesus Christ!); John 1:1-5. God the Holy Spirit teaches through the Word of God in the Bible.
The Birth of Jesus Christ
Isaiah 7: 14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel." Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh but without sin. The Savior of the world was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal; body mutilated; blood poured out, finally died (John 19:30; Luke 23:46 ) and was placed in a tomb and rose from the dead the 3rd day ! "HE IS RISEN" Matthew 28: 6.
Isaiah 53:" 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." - IT IS FOUNDED UPON GOD'S LOVE FOR MAN AND WOMAN HE CREATED
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3: 23
" For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"1 Corinthians 15: 3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
THE PAYMENT BY HIS BLOOD FOR ALL SINS EVER!
Romans 5:8 " But God demonstrates his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, now justified by his blood, we will be saved from wrath through him."
“For he (God) hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21.
Matthew 26: 28 "For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." (the life is in the blood. He had to pay with His life)
"And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22
BY GOD'S GRACE ALONE THROUGH FAITH ALONE IN JESUS CHRIST ARE WE SAVED
Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast."
Jesus died and paid the penalty for our sins to rescue us from eternal death. He died on our behalf. We believe in Him, trusting His death and shedding His blood as payment for ALL our sins and His burial and resurrection from the dead the third day! John 20:24-31; 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 above.
WHOSOEVER BELIEVES SHALL TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH
Romans 10:
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
TO DIE IS TO REJECT SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST AND BE SEPARATE FROM GOD FOREVERMORE
Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We receive the baptism of God the Holy Spirit immediately which seals us in Christ and that is permanent! Ephesians 1:13-14. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Revelation 21:8.
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5: 1

Thank you for your message, l cried a little bit. My son has a heart for God, my daughter doesn't to much, so when l heard that one part, when you mentioned that all we want for our children, is for them to be godly and to have faith, touch me. I'll just keep praying for my daughter.

52 All of you inhabitants of the earth, in the name of the Almighty God, I beg you to lift up your head. In regard to Salvation, God who is just did not favour one people over another people. God did not favour the Jew over the Arab or the Hindu over the Christian. You the Arab, the religion of your birth family could have been Hinduism. You the Christian, the religion of your birth family could have been Islam. You the Hindu, the religion of your birth family could have been Christianity. Whether Moses, Jesus, Mahomet, Krishna or Buddha is a messenger of God or not; whether the Torah, the Bible, the Quran, the Veda is a book that came down from heaven or not, that is not important for you who are alive today. The will of God for your salvation is not what your family or everyone else does around you, but it is what the living prophet of your time tells you. You were born alone and be aware that one day, you will die alone and also, you will go to judgment before God alone. Neither your father nor an imam, or anyone else will answer for you. But God who is just will send a prophet in your lifetime, to show you the way to heaven, just as before you, He also sent prophets to show the way to heaven to generations before you.

Indeed his words are pure and touches the soul. Two years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I thought all hope were lost because my doctor said I got few months to live. I lost all I have treating myself and also my job when my boss couldn't comprehend. I decided to seek help from God, I prayed for God's intervention and he answered I got cured of the disease.
Few days after I got cured I happen to meetup with a woman who changed my life. Her name Alicia Kay Knape She is an investment advisor, she managed and traded my funds from scratch till I can boost of being a successful woman. Thanks to God for his infinite mercy.

This is a great message, I pray and talk to my little man about scripture as much as possible. We pray every night. God has shown favor in my son's life. Since he was pretty young he has had prophetic dreams. Most of his dreams consists of heaven. Last week I was feeling very discouraged and sad and my son came up to me and said... mommy I had a dream about heaven. He then says Heaven is filled with thousands of children, so many he couldn't count lol..he says mommy there are way more kids than adults. Heaven has a special place just for children. I helped Jesus feed all the kids😢❤ he is so precious ❤ He then says mommy God said to tell you... "You are His perfect gift"...of course I broke down crying. God tells us in scripture train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. Being in God's word is essential for our everyday to day to life. You may be feeling let down, discouraged at times or even dissapointed but know that we are much stronger when we put on our whole armor of God. No weapon formed against you shall prosper!

There's 5 churches within 3 miles of my house. And they don't preach truth. This is the most truthful thing I've heard. Most things are prosperity or just to say to get more ppl in. Is not studying in my house and listening to preachers like this daily a good thing. Pl.ease help me in this. I see all these huge money making buildings.

Since I started searching for God 7 months ago.. its been a rough journey 😔, with evil and temptation tugging at me like no other! Somtimes i almost cave in, as I'm getting dressed to go out and party, I open TH-cam to listen to music as I get all dressed up, it never fails paul is the 1st thing that pops up and it completely changes my mind, I stay home and listen to him.. Jesus was calling the Pharisee's hypocrites here. Matthew 23:3-5 continues on to say but don't do what they do because they don't practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads that are hard to carry and put them on people's shoulders, but they themselves aren't willing to lift a finger to move. They do everything to be seen by others.

Alot, probably close to all self professing Christians skip past that part.

I praise God and give Him all the glory for providing a teacher and minister like Paul Washer. His sermons have continually convicted me and brought me into a holy reverence for the Father that I don't see in many places anymore. He and Voddie Baucham have guided me to more truth in the past couple of years than I knew in the previous 52 years of my life combined.

For the first time in my life, I am not scared senseless by this. I believe all of it, but only because God brought me back about 2 months ago. I was into so much garbage and hated Christianity even though I was raised in it. I was living a very worldly, fleshly life and believed in all manner of garbage outside of the Bible entirely. I was angry, disgusting, unbelieving. Then I asked God for a way out of my situation, and told him I fully submit to him. The first time I said and meant that. He rapidly began to change me. My entire being was changed from the inside out. The work isn’t finished, but he did so much, so quickly, and restored the years which moth and rust destroyed. Now I have to trust in him to show me how to fix the problems my sin haa caused. And I trust he will if I keep my eyes on Jesus

Using emotional music can manipulate the brain and make it feel more emotional than it should. This can give people a false sense of repentance by being humbled over the song rather than the message
The word of God will bring the change, with or without music.
