But, like most safety regulations, the rules are written in blood. It takes a tragedy like this to see where the gaps are in the protection of players. Suddenly, the athletes' concerns from before the event weren't "exaggerated" or "overblown" as some JMRC members were quoted as saying ahead of the event. For this reason, I think Team Momo is the only team that no one really actively roots against. A part of every fan wants to see them win the Marble League one day. It will be a great end to Momomomo's comeback story.
I was there at that day and remember it as if it happened just yesterday. I was up in CCE's block waving my banner. The crack wasn't even that loud through the whirring of these horrible, eye cancer-inducing spinning devices, it sounded like a window being split, and the whole stadium fell silent at once like they were feeling the pain themselves. Everyone desperately watched the medics approach to carry him off the pitch. My six-year-old son was with me and I had to cover his eyes to keep his young soul undamaged. The other players were comforting Wispy who was fighting with tears and could hardly be convinced to get off Momomomo's side to let the medics take care of him. The rest of the day was overshadowed by this; the cheerings were more silent, the chants more feeble, the thoughts of everyone hardly on the pitch but with Momomomo and the hope of his recovery. It was a shock to hear that he was off for the rest of the season. They sure should have made a greater deal on the safety of the spinners and their impact on the athletes. Something like this should never, ever happen again in ML.
I can't imagine how graphic and petrifying such a collision could be for an entire stadium of people. It's absurd to imagine just how fast a mood can shift from lively and enthusiastic to somber and guilty. I'd feel guilty to be witness to that and not be able to do anything. I was lucky only to see this on television when it happened, but the collision was painfully obvious from the camera POV. All i could look at poor Momomomo's piece gliding across the white canvas of the play field. To see a favourite team of mine experience such an undeserved defeat, that only made me want to see their eventual victory more. So happy to see them reigning the league in 2021.
Do you remember when they showed Mrs Momomomo on the big screen? It was only for a few seconds, but I'll never forget the look on her face. Just a horrible day. I hope your son is doing okay.
It's sad it took this tragedy for stricter safety regulations to be put in place, but at least Momo bounced back and continued to be considered one of the greats.
It’s like in Formula 1, for example. With every death, the sport becomes safer. Luckily, momomomo didn’t die after this tragic event but the safety standards still went up.

This was amazing, high quality marble news. Btw, you should make another video about the accident of Audi marble in the Marbula One race in Jakarta. I think it wasn't an accident and the Envision marble hit it intensionally.
I remember watching this I was 13 at the time and seeing what happened at such young eyes of mine it shocked me I didn't believe what had just happened.
After that event, Mimo, the 5th member of Team Momo, appeared and every team got 5th member at next year(Momomomo also came back, and he got approach by everybody at curling(1st group race of 2018).), and coach appeared at 2019.

This was a great video as always. TH-cam wont let me turn on notifications since this is apparently made for kids, which is ridiculous because A. Why cant notifications be on for kids videos? B. This is not for kids at all, this is graphic and disturbing content, or at least this specific video is.
I mean would you want to compete with broken ribs? Surely it would be of use in some events where you need to twist or bend your body, it would be easier since your bones would be able to shift around. Not worth the pain and the health risks.
@@phauxdy Yeah. Marble injuries aren't a joke at all. All the rolling and bouncing and colliding they do is quite intense, so letting someone injured compete is just giving them a death wish.

If the Savage Speeders win this year's ML would you consider it the greatest comeback of Marble Sports? For me, it would be a no because it doesn't give off the same feel as the O'Rangers or Midnight Wisps comeback. To me, it feels like being down two touchdowns in the first 5 minutes of the first quarter of an American football game
I would consider it the greatest, because the O’rangers were up 51 points at one point, and were up 35 with 3 events to go. Both deficits are the highest to come back from
