Awesome explanation. You really balance practical utilization of the system without encouraging people becoming a totally complacent driver and a risk to other road users. Your comments about motorcycles is a great insight as well to avoid the risk of injuring one, or causing a rear-end collision if a motorcycle being followed suddenly splits stopped traffic. Easily the best explanation I’ve had for how to use the system in real world scenarios.
I just bought a 2023 X3 M 40 I and I have the system and I took a drive from Sacramento up to Portland and it worked flawlessly and it was so much easier than just the old adaptive cruise control that I had in my 2020 X3 30 I. Makes driving so much easier! Great video!
Yes just use the turn signal but not all the way and car will go onto the other lane as long as there's no ther car there. And it will get you out of harms way when there another car moving into your lane
The traffic jam assistant is really intended for bumper to bumper driving on the freeway and not really for street driving , hence the resume and other issues exhibited on the video. I use this feature daily on the freeway and it works flawlessly with no intervention. Traffic jam assist is an autonomous level 2 system which just requires driver monitoring, verified by the onboard cámaras. Adaptive cruise control is level 1 system which requires the driver to have their hands on the steering wheel.
So if its following the vehicle in front of you and the light starts to turn yellow to red... where you should likely stop. What does the car do? I assume you need to intervene
Omg perfect demonstration. I got all the little details I wanted to know. Other videos are much superficial compared to this one.

Thank you Raphael!

Thank you for watching!
can it change lanes on its own also?

4:14 good time to overtake and prevent blocking the intersection. Wonder if/when autodriving will do that
I have a question for videomaker. Can you set it for you to resume it everytime it stops for 3 seconds or does it do it automatically?
Does the vehicle need to be in comfort or eco pro modes only or will the extended traffic jam mode work in sport/ sport plus mode ?
Any mode will work
What an excellent demonstration 👍
Thank you Richard!
Excellent demonstration, Thank you so much!
You're very welcome!

Hi ! What if the car has the onboard cameras but no Adaptive Cruise Control ? What are the possibilities given ?
gives me so much anxiety watching you do this while you're almost out of gas. LOL
Well you know I made it home because I had to edit and upload the video!
Ahhhh Texas. God bless ‘em.
Thanks for the video, it was very informative.
Thanks for watching!

This system does not react to traffic signals, so in the case of a red light or stop sign you will have to stop the car yourself
What was that white BMW at the left
G20 3-Series
this is Hawthorne Blvd going Westbound. :) I have a comparable car to you and I will share with you my videos in time.
Up to 40 MPH? Worthless ...
