I pulled a lot less hairs after listening to this at night compared to the day before! Maybe 3 hairs at most and Im very happy because I already have bald spots because of trichotillomania so every hair counts. I will continue listening to this while falling asleep and I hope I'll stop pulling out hair for good. :)

Thank you so much for this.
I have been pulling on my eyebrows and eyelashes since I was 11 due to the bullying I would face for having “big eyebrows”. I can’t pinpoint exactly how the habit truly started but i remember moments in which we would have silent reading time (we read a book silently for 30 mins) and during so I would just pick my eyebrows: things got worse when I was 12 and I moved to secondary school - I received bullying from older girls so my hair pulling became worse - it’s mainly concentrated at my eyebrows. 13 was probably the worst; I was bad at makeup then so any attempt I would make to cover up the patches would make my eyebrows look uneven and blocky. From 14 onwards (I’m currently 17), the urges to pick on my eyebrows and now armpit hair and the side of one of my thighs would come in waves - I would have a month or two if not picking, my hair would grow back and I wouldn’t need to wear makeup, but then idk it just comes back and I can’t stop. Now as off typing this it’s one of those moments where I can’t stop and my hair picking is maladaptive and I end up procrastinating by hair picking instead of doing my work. I really want the power to make the urges go away, the tingles on my eyebrows and eyelashes, as well as the urges to feel for soft skin, to which I would pick out any hair in the way.
When my parents first noticed, they started laughing at me then once they realised I couldn’t stop they yelled at me and threatened to lock me up in a psych ward and take me away from school. Ig now I’m a lot better at hiding the bald spots but I haven’t really grown out of pulling. I resort to videos like yours to help with relieving the urges in the moment. I’m about to go to sleep but I’ve spent the past 1hr30 or so picking at my eyebrows. Your videos are amazing, keep up the great work, and if any of you passer by-ers end up here, I really appreciate that you kept reading this far

I haven’t played this yet but going to give it a try. My therapist recommended trying hypnosis for my pulling after a bad episode. I’m 26 and have been doing it since i was 12ish due to stress, undiagnosed anxiety and adhd, learning disability struggles and bottling up my emotions and feelings. My main areas are my eyebrows and eyelashes. This seems interesting cause I never heard or hypnosis being used for this or much mental health stuff

Hi, I just read your comment, and looking at your list of reasons, I can say the ADHD alone is enough to create a body focused repetitive disorder. The neurology makes this happen and all the rest make it worse.

My problem is hair cutting rather than hair pulling but this was very helpful thankyou. I've been microsnipping daily for about 3 years (since covid), and my hair is about half an inch long. Enough is enough! I will try and focus on 2 years time as you suggest! Thanks again.

I hope this works I started at 13 years old and now I’m 39. It started when I had a 24 hour EEG test due to having epilepsy and when I got the wires taken out of my scalp left me with my hair in knots and I would pull the knots out and became a habit ever since.

Huge hugs Laura I understand. Tricholtolmania sucks big time. I got this after a severe bicycle accident when I was a child. Helmets not mandatory at the time. I was struck by a drunk driver severe injuries. Long story short I got Tricholtolmania from head injury. I too went for tests ect. I have never been the same individual.

Thanks for making this. Somehow I’m just now discovering it! I’ve been watching another hypnosis video from another channel for a while now, but the guy’s accent is a bit too distracting for me 😅 I’m hoping this one works. I’ve been struggling with this disorder for almost 6 years now and I can’t live like this anymore.

Last night was my first night of it. In one of the other comments they say to keep at it for 21 days, which is 3 weeks. I read somewhere that it takes 3 weeks to form a new habit. Having said that, after just the one night I can tell you a few things, one is that going into this I had no idea why I do this only that I do and have been since I was a young teen. I now know why as something in the video triggered me to figure it out. Two, I'm dedicated to fixing this and changing this, the video is only a tool. It's not the thing that's going to fix me, only I can do that. Last and not least, I do believe it will be worthy of my time and very helpful.
I hope this made sense and answered your question, though it was a lengthy answer.

I started at 13 and on and off I’m now 50 but this is worse I’ve took the whole front off nearly and I keep trying to take small stubble out and I scratch it and pull till it red and sore I used to love the urge and feeling but now too much out of control

Does this also work if I compulsively pull out/pluck leg hairs? I will sit with a tweezer for hours plucking individual hairs on my legs and it's driving me crazy. Shaving doesn't help since they grow back so quickly. I'm grateful I haven't pulled hair from my head, but I still have such a hard time dealing with this problem.

It’ll work falling asleep as well because it will reach your subconscious which will help with unconscious decision . Thus make conscious decisions more easier to make also .

Hi Sierath, unfortunately this video is specialised just for trichotillomania, however I have had some people message me saying it was affective for it. Is it purely psychological or is there a physical compenent to it as well e.g weather changes?
