    I love Carson. He never interrupts and admires as if he is part of the crowd. It’s a lost art knowing when to sit back and listen and enjoy as an interviewer or host.

    Sinatras whole vibe changed when Don showed up seemed way more relaxed and into it. It was a really good idea to bring him out. Great segment from three legends.

      I once saw Sinatra perform in person and Don Rickles opened the show for him. Their charisma and star power was a force you feel even though you were seated out in the audience. It was great.

      That is why Fred sent him out. They got worried that Johnny was flustered in the presence of the Chairman, so they rushed Don out. Don's last joke which is not here is true. Don listed why he loved Frank and finished, pointing at Johnny, "and he makes you nervous.". (I have wondered if Johnny's barging into Don's sitcom was revenge for this.)

    The stunt that Rickles pulled on Sinatra has to be one of the greatest of all time. I love how you can really feel the strength of the friendship anytime you watch them together, and Carson was always pure class. Legendary entertainment in every sense of the word.

    I'm a massive Letterman fan, loved his entire run, but absolutely nothing compares to Carson's show. Rickles and Sinatra joking at each other, absolutely incredible.

      I think Letterman was the last genuinely funny late night show host. He had a funny monologue and his top 10s were epic. He had a lot of great entertainment and Paul Schaefer and the band were always on fire. One of the things that I remembered is the Foo Fighters closing out his last show because he loved them so much and they were there when he was recovering from his major heart surgery. I'm glad he survived.

      Michael Parkinson in the UK was like that. He had all the greats as guests and they were wonderful interviews. No one has that skill now. They just chat to someone for a couple of minutes.

      True story. Don said in an interview he once made fun of a mobster's girlfriend during his act when he was first starting out. Mob guy came to the dressing room and threatened to kill Don, but Don's manager knew all the top mob guys in NY. He made a few calls and problem solved.

    One of my all time favorite Tonight Show clips I have been a fan of Don Rickles for over 40 years, and he's still one of the greatest. They don't get bigger than Frank Sinatra either. Johnny Carson must have set this one up. Classic.

    Frank was a touchy feely person. He was very generous with his hugs and kisses to everyone., People were always nervous about meeting him but he was just a regular guy.

    It is 2022 and I cannot get enough of these guys. I just tuned into The Beverly Hillbillies.. I am sorry that these children of today do not know anything about these real comedians. As you can read I am 83 years old. I am so glad for UTUBE for bringing back and of course my phone for bringing back so many wonderful memories

    Don Rickles is the only man that could get away with kissing Sinatra on the mouth. I miss entertaining/talented people. Now we have the Kardashians and Jenners etc. and it is just sad...
