Glad the cameras worked. Gone are the days of finding good point and shoots in most thrift stores. Having something new to you can be quite energizing as you shoot the first rolls of film through them.
I'm actually a little surprised at how pleasant the image quality is on these 5 dollar cameras :). Great images! Proof that its the driver that matters, not the racecar. People are way too obsessed with having expensive cameras thinking they will turn them into "real" photographers.
So true my friend, so true 😄😄😎😎
This cool episode just proves that its all in the photographers eye. 💯 these photos are great! You are so talented my friend.
Your raw unfiltered spontaneous enthusiasm is captivating. You are funny. I love your style. Keep up the good work. Subscribed
Favorite part of the video: you singing "my money don't jiggle jiggle it folds" lmao
Finally someone says it
@@graincheck top tier content!
Wonderful images... LOVE how they turned out. Glad these point and shoots worked so we can enjoy your great work. Thanks!
The reflection photo at 10:30 was my fav! These all turned out really cool. I can't believe you found both of these for $5 🤯
Great video! Keep producing as your story telling, style, content and editing is great to watch
I have to say you are one of my favorite content creators😊👍
🥹
Glad you didn't show the results until the end. Felt like I was right there with you hoping they worked, kinda excited, kinda nervous, kinda impatient lol
YES! That was the goal 🎯
A great car, unattended and a point and shoot film camera on the ready...this is bliss! Tennis courts are also very nice to shoot...thanks for the amazing video...
I am obsessed with your channel even though you have a few vids. You motivate me to get more creative with my film journey 🙏🏼
Ohuuu yesssss ahhhh that feels so good to watch! absolutely love it. some weeks ago, I found my yashica T3 in a super cluttered old store nearby. new bat. into it and now an own a superb point and shoot. and I love shooting with it.
seeing you go through the emotions of receiving the scans and seeing the photos you shot from so long ago! 😍
The way I screamed when your exposures came back! YAY!
🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Always fun to find these old film point and shoots and have them work. I have quite a few cameras that didn't work but look cool. Nice images in your collection.
Loved how excited you got that the pictures worked!
Well this was a joy to watch!
Might I just say, I love your channel banner! It's creative on a whole new level!!! 😎😎😃😃😄😄
love your content and the spirit of throwing in film into unknown camera is so adventurous. Keep doing what you doing and share with us.
2:34 love these colors!
This was nostalgic! My parents had the SuperZoom when I was young. Strange camera but fun to see one today! 🙂
great video, and by the way love the '70's long pants and the brown leather shoulder bag for the cameras, nice look, and the browns match 🙂.
haha I have the exact same amount of excitement and fear when I get my scans back - even with the cameras that I know that they're working. Loved the video!
Just found your channel! Love the energy and legitimately was so happy for you when you got the scans back! Going to go through more vids later. $10 for fun point and shoots is insane!
I love those cameras. I have several. The exposures are usually spot on. They have double exposure settings and go into long exposure mode at night without the flash if i remember correctly.
I picked up an Olympus Superzoom 330 for $20 a couple months ago. Loving it completely.
So cool to find bargains that actually work. I think the weird sound you heard on the first camera may be that certain P&S cameras actually wind the entire roll onto the take-up spool, then gradually rewind the film back into the canister as you shoot.
Woaaahhhhh! Good to know 😅
Another great video Taylor
Awesome! Glad they work! And nice shots!!
Louis Theroux would be proud. Those cameras were awesome finds and the shots looked gorgeous. I really liked the side by side b&w and color
I saw a couple of your videos… .you look awesome! compliments! you have energy and sympathy to sell! good 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Those 80's-90's concept cameras where they just completely eschewed what a camera should look like and shoot like are wild. Cool that these two still work.
Shooting old cars on the street is probably one of the safest things. The worst you're likely gonna get is the owner coming up and trying to tell you everything about it. A lot easier to explain than why you're taking a picture of an awning or such.
loved the pics, also just wanted to say the colors and lighting in this video were insane!
Awesome shots! That cinestill looks mint!
Always worth the risk!!!
The photos came out great. Lucky find!
music selection is exquisiteeeee
Satisfyingly entertaining, sugar!!!
For sure enjoyed the presentation. I love your bubbly style. Speaking for myself, from time to time, karma, luck, a fluke will pop up in the form of an ol' 'point and shoot' camera sitting on a shelf in a thrift shop, say Goodwill, that says purchase and reuse me. My favorite is an Olympus Infinity Stylus I purchased for $3.99 that ranks to hang out on the shelf with all my rangefinder cameras.
A stylus?! For 3.99?! Hot damn
@@graincheck I wish!!
I have the same Olympus with the twin lenses!! Loved the shots :)
Cheap point and shoots are the best. I have a few in my arsenal just for that reason. The Fuji DL-400 Tele, the Canon sure Shot 90uii and my favorite the EOS 750 because I can change the lenses still a point and shoot 🔥
Those pictures turned out to be AMAZING! I was a little skeptical that those two cameras could take clear and sharp photos, but boy was I wrong! The Portra filmstock also makes a huge difference! Reds and Greens have such a pleasing hue, as well as the yellow and orange! I gotta buy me some portra film now 😂😂😂😂😎😎
youtube suggested me here! a fellow film shooter!
happy to see the images, both cameras seem to work quite well!
I can relate the excitement and anxiety every time I receive scans..
Welcome!!! Stay a while ⚡️
@@graincheck subbed 😎
Wow, what fantastic finds… and for $5 each!! Every camera I see at thrift stores are absolute junk and are overpriced. Even if this cameras didn’t work, for $5 they would look great on a shelf. 😀
such a relief that they work, after all the leica drama, u deserve the best!
yes, some 'interact differently', when you turn it on, or press the shutter, sometimes you need to take a shot, this advances the 'loading' film, so that the fresh can be ready to shoot. this is all the noise is, the wind-on, Some other mf winder cameras do it too (hassleblad 500el (when winding) H1 with film backs, 503cw- with the winder, Rollieflex 3000/6008 integral) even the 35 Nikon F4/5 do this too, just a bit jumpy when they do.
@10:31, sneaky, thought you had a double exposure there. Noice. End of the roll through a window? But it looks like a composite of a few of your shots. Either way, very nice work. Best of the roll actually.
with the big camera, Don't worry about the frame counter, I shoot a hasselblad 500 C\M and the backs counter doesn't reset until the back is removed, as it sets back to S, so don't fret, be cool, calm and keep shooting. ( also on some cameras a 'warning' beep occurs, this alerts you to ONE shot Left on the roll, most point&shoots STOP altogether, aka nothing happens, until you operate the rewind switch, my mum's cannon P&S did that, Zip until it rewound, couldn't even close the lens (operate the cover/retraction mechanism).
Nice pictures. Those old cameras can still deliver. I bought an Olympus Stylus at a thrift store for $5 a number of years ago and it works fine but I don't use it often because shortly afterward I found another Stylus new in the box at a garage sale in my neighborhood. I paid a quarter for it, it's gold colored and has a data back. Sadly, I don't use that very much either as I really, really like my Konica Big Mini. Just a superb camera.
I hope I don't offend but the opening shot with the baby stroller in the back seat started a little bit of a nostalgia trip into the past. Your pants just ramped it up to eleven for me. I'm 64, been married for 42 years and grew up in the 60's and 70's when pants exactly like that, down to the flaired legs, were everywhere. You reminded me of dating, kids, cramming strollers and diaper bags and picnic baskets into the back seat was a normal thing, along with cheap focus free point and shoot cameras, Tri-X and Kmart Focal film and getting really, really excited pulling the film out of the wash to see there were actually pictures on there! Damn, that video was a fun ride! Thanks! You're the groovy chick! 🙃
😭😭😭😭😭 this was so amazing to read!! Thanks for watching. Really appreciate it.
Cool photos. Nice work.
That Olympus zoom looks interesting. I would love to try that.
Also woke up feeling spicy, might take some pics 🙂
That Olympus 300 or 330 maybe was my first camera, I bought it from Service Merchandise for around $240 or so, I loved it, I bought it because I was going to Jamaica and it didn’t disappoint! There’s a lens cap that doubles as a remote timer, generally when you find the camera second hand it’s not included! Did yours happen to come with one?
Its always nice finding cameras at the thrift store! Loved the video.
This was my first time finding any in working condition. SO EXCITING
MAN THE PHOTOS LOOK GREAT
Thoroughly enjoyed this one🥳🥳
As usual, great video. Keep em coming! (Where can I buy a pair of those pants?)
These pictures are fire!
This woman is talented af OMG Very great video
Just bought the Ricoh mirai, pretty much the same the camera as the zoom, pretty curious to play around with the multi image function 👍
i found the Olympus Twin at a yard sale right by where i do groceries and it was only $2!! came with a nice lil bag too. i found that the tele lens had a focusing issue tho, not sure if you notice that on yours too. it's fine tho, because the wide lens works perfectly and that's what the camera defaults to when you power it up. anyway, it's a great sounding camera and i'm so glad i found it for that price!
wonderful video and two nice cameras. thx
I flip point and shoots and can honestly say that you picking up an Olympus Infinity Twin for $5 is an absolute steal. They go for close to $100
I know 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
wow I love the photos!!
I flipped out when I saw that Superzoom. I inherited ones of those beasts from my Mom and although I cannot stand the feel of it, I love the pictures!
Haha, no way!! I looovvveee the feel of it. The photos were a pleasant surprise too
@@graincheck it’s a nostalgic factor for me, to be shooting on a camera that she used to take pics of me growing up blows my mind. But you’re right, it feels like a camcorder 😅 However, it’s the only negative for me. The photos ARE a pleasant surprise, as is the double exposure mode, which has been fun! LOVING your channel and your eye for photography!
I bought the Infinity Twin on a fleamarket for 5 euros and I love it! How do you feel about the twin lens setup instead of a zoom lens?
Great Video! I really enjoyed the beginning of the "starting to shoot" section. Don't know what it is but to me it looks like straight out of a movie! Maybe the colors and the angle. ❤️
love the pants !!
It's nice when you get all your ducks in a row!
1:20 he response "oh yeah" not "ok, is there anything else you wanna add?" Literally, I'm shocked! It's none of my business hahahahaha!
the film Gods wanted to bless you with these cameras because of the run around with the Leica camera, show out to the Film Gods
*praises*
Amazing results 🎈🎈🎈
I think the vlogging format worked!
Where do you get your film developed? My wife and I are trying to figure out the best spot in Vegas for it. Thanks for the video.
Hi, I recently bought an Olympus AZ-330 SUPERZOOM like yours it's loaded with Kentmere 400 ISO monochrome film. I have managed 16 shots so far as we are in the middle of Winter here in WALES, rain and wind a lot of the time, so not ideal weather for photography. Congratulations on your camera bargains and your first images, have fun. BYE
Slideshow is my favorite part
Great photos. I’m guessing the counter resets once you opened the back of the camera.
I love this video, and totally off topic but I love your bag, is it a camera bag?! Because I definitely would like one like that☺️
I sure hope so!
I was wondering if you have a website where you sell your photos. Nice videos. Thank you...
Nice video, as someone who just got into film photography (I got a Pentax sp1000 with an f2 55mm lense) I'm still looking for a point and shoot
09:34, 09:37, these gave me "goose bumps"...😀
😂
The tennis court thing is just big facts
Facts on facts
Wow! I love your photos!
Price is only $5 but quality is amazing :)
Wow those cameras are insanely sharp for some $5 point and shoot finds.
Lit 🤙 first roll with an untested camera is always scary
so so so scary
Off Topic: Where did you get your tattoo on your forearm?? Love it!
I really enjoyed this video, and I hope you make more like it! You honestly have me wanting to check out my local thrift store, haven't been in ages 👀
DO IT
@@graincheck Maybe I WILL! Maybe I'll vlog it too!
do you keep your negatives? just bought my first film camera and i'm not sure what to do when i finish my first roll
Have faith in older technology!❤️🙏❤️
Loved the video, maybe in the future try overlaying the scans on the screen as your taking the photos?
I normally do that, but the whole point of this video was to see if the cameras work. If I showed you that in the first couple minutes…the suspense is gone.
@@graincheck Makes total sense, love your videos! just stumbled across you and binging a bunch of them
@@viper3269 stoked you’re here ⚡️
Can you make a video about how you treat color in your videos or photos? Literally so aesthetic 2000s flow
Frickin sick pics
Cinestill and Portra, you would be fun in Vegas.
What should I watch first? Graincheck or Sunny 16? *sweating*
NO WRONG DECISION HERE
Wish there was thirft stores around here and get those for that price lol. Love your videos tay, hope to see more vlogs! :)
I had never heard of an Olympus Infinity SuperZoom 300, then I found one in a thrift store, then I found *another* in a thrift store, like, a day later, and now you're doing a video about finding one in a thrift store. Getting Baader-Meinhof'd on the Olympus Infinity SuperZoom 300 over here.
AND AND AND, I just literally bought an Infinity Twin TWO DAYS AGO in an antique store. Literally shot my first few frames in it earlier today.
DUN DUN DUNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!
the plot thickens
Are you using a tripod/monopod to film B roll or just placing it down on something? I've been thinking about getting a monopod as they’re less fiddly to set up when in public...
Okay sorry I just got to the end and see that you do 😅 is it a tripod?
loved this vid!
It's like you went panning for gold and found a couple of nuggets! Sounds like those two cameras give you some fun options when you're out on a photo walk! I've read that for every 100 mm of lens we get 1mm of moon. Glad you didn't open the camera until you could get to a safe place. I just lost half a roll because I was impatient. One frame could have had a picture of my wife... she passed 6/1/21. Losing that film made me sick.
