Something I noticed and LOVE about how The Chosen depicts Jesus is that He is never annoyed when someone approaches him with the desire to talk to him, even if He’s in the middle of prayer, or in the middle of a sermon, or even when He left two minutes ago to go on a walk for some alone time. He is never upset or annoyed by His followers coming to him at any time of the day during any circumstance to seek guidance, a patient ear, or a compassionate Father; instead, he always welcomes them with a smile. And it makes me so HAPPY to know that our Father in Heaven is NEVER annoyed or upset when we approach him with whatever troubles us, whether we seek him during our daily prayer or send out an outcry for his support in the middle of the day or night, even at seemingly in opportune times. He is always willing to listen to us, to be there for us, and to guide us with love and patience. He is never too busy for you. He loves you beyond comprehension, and if you want to talk to him, He’s always there, sitting by the campfire, waiting for you to approach with an open invitation of “Go on, I’m listening.” All you have to do is walk over and sit down. ❤
Some of the mystics saints who have spoken to Jesus or have been spoken to by him said that God desires just a little of our time to be alone with him so badly yet how often do we end up distracted, never praying, never sitting for a moment to think deeply. I can’t wait to see him come back and sit on the throne rightfully, incorruptible, just, merciful, and true.
I love THE CHOSEN. It has changed my faith so much, from religion to relationship. May God bless and protect all who work on it. Amen Love you all from South Africa.
I started watching this show before I got baptized in October. So many times it brought me to tears and helped me learn so much when paired with the Word in my journey. When I learned to “lean not on my own understanding”, I was freed from fentanyl addiction. Instantly. No withdrawals or cravings ever again. Praise Jesus, he saved my life. And amazing job to The Chosen cast & crew. Thank you 🤍
I was in shock when I saw that this video had been uploaded bcoz from morning god has been trying to speak to me about forgiving. I heard this in worship, in the message today, when I opened my TH-cam, and now when I have opened my notification from TH-cam about chosen’s new video God sure is trying to teach me to forgive and the chosen was definitely one his ways to say that to me ❤
Forgiveness is first a choice, not first a feeling. Sometimes it takes months of continually choosing to forgive, but it gets easier with time. God wants us to have a forgiving heart and will help you work through the struggle. The freedom is well worth it!
As someone that had to learn to forgive someone that had actively deceived me for over a decade, I understand you. I was always drawn to Peter in the Bible. But in The Chosen had me following Matthew. My favorite episode was after the sermon on the mount episode, I loved how Matthew went to his parents and admitted he had wronged them. I had felt wronged and was waiting for the person to come to me. But that didn’t happen. Then I saw the episode this clip is from. I was like Peter. Then the scene where Peter forgives Matthew had me in tears. When I saw the person that had lied to me for over a decade that scene was in my head. All of that hurt was in the past. Both myself and the person that lied to me made mistakes. To hang onto those mistakes hoping the other would come forward and reach out to me asking forgiveness was not what God had in mind. I forgave the person, saying we both did the best we could in the situation all those years ago. We can’t change the past. I’m sorry for the part I played in how you felt. All of that is in the past. I forgive you. This is done and in the past. Something has happened to me. My wife has noticed that I seem more calm and relaxed than I have in years. Remember that in the Lord’s Prayer we are called to forgive others, just as the Lord forgives us. Knowing that helped, but seeing it acted out so strongly, gave me the push to obey God. May the Holy Spirit continue to speak to you.
I just love the looks on Jesus' face all through this conversation😅 Discouraging 'keeping score' and teaching him to 'lose count' of wrongdoings. Epic.
It is so hard to be like Jesus, to be like Him, its so hard to love your neighbour, to love who trespass against us, but by God i will keep trying, i want to keep trying, God please forgive this sinner
This is a hard one for me & the horrific abuse I get from my neighbour downstairs 😢everytime I forgive her she goes & does it again 😞in my almost 40 yrs of walking with Jesus, this 15 yrs of her abuse I sin all the time 😢oh God I need your supernatural HELP to overcome this situation 🙌🙌🙌✝️😞
@kimfenn4311 Pray for her every day. You do not know of something she may have suffered that causes her to be that way. Ask her if she would like prayer and show her kindness. This what JESUS would do. Even if she is still that way continue praying for her smile at her know matter what she says and one day she may smile back. GOD BLESS 🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏
It's not as hard as you think. Forgiveness is for you and not the people who have hurt you. Open your heart and ask God to heal your heart. Remember, if we don't forgive, God will not forgive us. God bless you, and let's walk in forgiveness. 🙏🏽🙌🏽💞
I love Peter's pacing at the beginning of this scene. It honestly reminds me when I'm struggling with questions, just passing back and forth, and meanwhile Jesus is just waiting patiently for me to just go up and talk to him 😅
Was just praying this morning for God to help me with a friend who hasn't been trusting in me and it hurts...thank you for sharing this clip. Divine timing as always from our Creator. Amen & have a blessed week. 🙏💖✨
This scene is powerful. Releasing forgiveness is freeing yourself from the prison that the person is living in, it is freeing yourself from everything that makes us sick.
If you think you can't forgive someone, Stop and Think Of Jesus On The Cross and What He Endured For Us, Then Ask Yourself, If He Can Forgive Me My Sins I Surely Can Forgive Those Who Have Caused Me Pain. The Pain and Humiliation He Endured For Us , we can't even begin to imagine 😔💔
God bless you all at THE CHOSEN Chosen for this portrayal of real forgiveness. Great conversation regarding forgiveness. Seventy times Seven times (completion). I think breaking the stick helped Simon calm himself. Jesus was so very understanding of Simon as he is about us right here right now. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus is Lord over all.
I struggle so much.. in Faith. It’s hard to forgive the people that hurt me, praise God for His forgiveness towards me though. ❤I’m trying my hardest, I hope He knows it
It's because Peter's realizing that for this to work, he can't fall back on just himself through this endeavor. Man makes it harder when he leans on his own understanding.. Because Man is not supposed to lean on himself, but God's entirely, there we can forge a path elevated beyond anything we could ever do alone. Forgiveness is exactly that. ❤️
lol yeah. Peter’s small tantrum at the end is so on point it’s funny, the writers took care of even the tiniest of details that make us smile and cry ❤
this is gold, peter gets the truth and right and the very end he heads of into the distance and throws his fists into the air, swatting with anger at the sky, crazy all over the place, like a toddler who just got told not to do something because it is naughty. that is life, that is how we are, even as adults we face the truth and it hurts.
That's a powerful reflection, and it echoes a biblical truth. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust in God and not rely on our own understanding: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." This reminds us that when we try to navigate life solely through our own reasoning, we often miss the deeper wisdom that comes from trusting God. It's humbling to recognize that even in our best efforts, we may need to surrender our own plans and trust in His guidance.
I love how Jesus says “I know it's hard”. It feels like he doesn't come down hard or shame Peter. He understands his struggle and that Peter is a flawed man.
What I got from this that sometimes we overlook is that God brings us to the end of ourselves and then we are asked by God to do something that we cannot do ourselves and we have to let Him do it in or through us. He is what we always need more of; we always need more of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If we surrender and let Him be everything, He makes us what seems impossible, whether it is to forgive or to become or do anything, it can only be done by Him. God enjoys doing the impossible if we are willing to surrender and ask Him.
I am so thankful that I have the heart to forgive like Jesus. Forgiveness makes me feel good about myself, I just love everyone and it gives me peace. ❤
Amen lord. I love you with all my heart and thank you lord for all your blessings, miracles, and opportunities. Please lord hear our prayers to look over and protect our loved ones
Thank you for showing Peter receiving the unlimited Grace that he needed to Give. I caught the meaning of the "next morning" reference, but on the second watch if this clip. I was harboring unforgiveness the first time. I received news of betrayal that day, and I knew what was necessary. It just took some time for God to convict me. Our pain gives us a sense of entitlement, and power, etc. But the Gospel of Grace in Christ is the only truth that matters. Do we follow Christ fully? Are we sure we want to withhold Grace when God didn't hold it back from us? Big mistake. Easier said then done. Anyhow, thanks for this lesson.
It's getting very hard dealing with and forgiving my Christian roommate who puts everything I say and do under a microscope of judgment and rushes to make the worst assumptions about me. Please pray for us both
U could show him that the Bible does indeed show us that we are sinful… ALL of us … him included. The Bible can act like a mirror we hold up to our face, showing us our own sin and teaching us to be humble. Matthew 7:1-5 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Here’s the deal: Yes, we are ALL sinners. And yes, we should all try to stay away from sin, but that is obviously easier said than done. As Christians we should try to LEAD people to Christ and the love of God and the gospel of salvation, NOT pound them over the head with their own sin. We need to have empathy and understand our audience.
He also KNEW that the offender would actually be repentant. Without true repentance, acts, they will do same things. He also said don't throw pearls before swine.
The message, I believe, is how many times a day do we sin against God and he forgives us? What's the saying? To whom much is given... It's a difficult but simple choice, you're either walking with God or you're not. And if not, who's responsible for your troubles? You, or God? Moral: Have faith and try harder...because it's hard.
It’s so easy for me to list off the hundreds of ways people have supposedly wronged me. I thank GOD that He doesn’t recall a single instance of my sin because of the blood shed by Yeshua ha Mashiach. Praise you El Shaddai for all that you have forgiven and all that you have done. ❤❤❤
The first time I saw this scene, it cut right through me. God is using these episodes to build up followers. The writing is excellent! “Man makes it much harder when he leans on his own understanding”, said Jesus. (Mic drop)
When Jesus said, "For the moment, Let's keep it at 7" I got a big dopey grin on my face cuz I knew what was coming next from scripture. When you're reading or watching stories sometimes you really like characters because they are different from you, braver, cleverer, more outspoken, have really cool superpowers. But sometimes you like the characters because they are you...that's how I feel about The Chosen's portrayal of Simon Peter. Give grace because it's been given to you.
I just read this section in the novel and how fitting for our times. Made me tear up all over again. ... Would have loved to see the next screen with Matthew.
“So for the moment… let’s keep it at 7, the moment of completion” - 🕊️❤️🙏🏻☝🏻🪨🥺 Genesis 1:31, Genesis 2:1-3 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The way I finally understood this 70 x 7 part of the Gospel last year was by praying the rosary daily and going to the adoration chapel to pray/talk to God several times a week. This "number of times" is for those who find it hard to forgive even just one thing/misunderstanding/mistake/deliberate action from others. Repetition is the key. It can be hard but it can be done eventually. 😉
God is working hard on me lately. And is how I got here. Dug out my Bible which I haven't opened in years, and still haven't. Funnily enough, when I was inspired to find it, I thought it was buried somewhere in 1 of many boxes of old belongings which id be digging through. And when I approached the pile, there it was, sticking out of the top of one like it was waiting on me. I'm still being a fool stuck in habits. Still hesitating to do what I need to in order to follow instead of just believing. Every clip I watch, every message I hear, everything I see Him do for a fool like me, I get closer to being where I should be. Thank you for these, I knew little of this show and it's breaking me apart in a good way.
Many of us (myself included) have read or heard this account in Scripture for years. But The Chosen - you have done a PHENOMINAL job bringing this account to "life". To hear the emotion/vocal variety behind these words is powerful. And more relatable.
I reviewed the verses mentioning Peter and Matthew, and so brilliant of the writers to stitch them together into this backstory. The Roundtable of this episode explained it. Thank you, I learn so much in the process ! 🎬📖

God bless us when we’re called to do hard things. When we need to subvert our will. When we need to surrender. It can be so difficult❤
And this can be seen even in the epistles of Peter :)
Letting go was one of the hardest things I have done. But it set me free. Grace of God be upon us!
Forgiveness is necessary especially on those who hurt us. Jesus forgave us.
Peter breaking the stick and throwing gets me everytime 🤣
Me too😂cuz I feel his frustration, but it makes me laugh 🤣
It feels like a BTS/blooper but it's real life 😂
It's the frustration of hearing the truth about yourself and not liking what you heard. Been there many times.
The conviction is real
That moment at the end... Jesus looking up to God as if to say "I know, right?" Affection for the toddler & his tantrum...
Just Peter being Peter. 😉

Are we sure we want to withhold Grace when God didn't hold it back from us? Big mistake. Easier said then done. Anyhow, thanks for this lesson.
Thanks for sharing that the scene resonated with you, Dave.
It's getting very hard dealing with and forgiving my Christian roommate who puts everything I say and do under a microscope of judgment and rushes to make the worst assumptions about me. Please pray for us both
🙏🙏🙏
U could show him that the Bible does indeed show us that we are sinful… ALL of us … him included.
The Bible can act like a mirror we hold up to our face, showing us our own sin and teaching us to be humble.
Matthew 7:1-5
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
Here’s the deal: Yes, we are ALL sinners. And yes, we should all try to stay away from sin, but that is obviously easier said than done.
As Christians we should try to LEAD people to Christ and the love of God and the gospel of salvation, NOT pound them over the head with their own sin.
We need to have empathy and understand our audience.
5:03
**silent anger**
Like a kid and his Dad😂
He also KNEW that the offender would actually be repentant. Without true repentance, acts, they will do same things. He also said don't throw pearls before swine.
Amen. People miss this part. You must forgive--but an abuser/pig does not need to be spent time time around to the same extent.
Episode 2 of season 4 was out of the world❤❤💥💥 btw the thumbnail's 🔥🔥🔥
I love Jesus so much! I love God so much. He never forces me. He is love himself
What a valuable lesson for us all.
Man makes it much harder when he leans on his own understanding.
Loving The Chosen.💖😊
If Jesus can transform Matthew into a hero and Peter into a great leader perhaps He's worth listening to.
Jesus turned a violent murderer of Christians into one of the greatest evangelists for Christ - Paul of Tsarsus
This is so hard but may God guide me always and teach me to be what He wants me to do🙏
It is very hard to be a christian, but it is better to try and fail, than to not try at all.
Boy, that hits the heart. And hopefully makes things melt.
I love that scene because man does lean on their own under standing makes things harder
The first time I saw this scene, it cut right through me. God is using these episodes to build up followers.
The writing is excellent! “Man makes it much harder when he leans on his own understanding”, said Jesus. (Mic drop)
My father in heaven has forgiven me over and over endlessly. Thank you, Father God .
So well written, as always! ❤
I love this scene and the whole thread of this!!
This scene really taught me how forgiving May look like and added more depth to the verse about forgiving for sure
Jesus being sarcastic 😂 1:30
I just read this section in the novel and how fitting for our times. Made me tear up all over again. ... Would have loved to see the next screen with Matthew.
Sounds like a rewatch of the episode is in your future. 😊
@@TheChosenSeries Yes, I know ❤
@@TheChosenSeries I always rewatch episodes!
My God help us through these next challenging years 😢😢
“I know it’s hard”
Yet know one knew how hard forgiveness would be like Jesus
Pls help for my ministry if ur financial status good 🫂🙏
Love me some Chosen 1st thing in the morning 🌄 😊🤗🥰
“So for the moment… let’s keep it at 7, the moment of completion” - 🕊️❤️🙏🏻☝🏻🪨🥺
Genesis 1:31, Genesis 2:1-3
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
Didn't notice the word "completion" for 7... that's beautiful ... that shows how deep it is...🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😊

When you forgive someone that has hurt you and pray for them, so many blessings come your way. God is so faithful.
Pls help for my ministry if ur financial status is good
The way I finally understood this 70 x 7 part of the Gospel last year was by praying the rosary daily and going to the adoration chapel to pray/talk to God several times a week.
It blesses me every time I see it. !!!!!😊😊😊
Thank you Lord 💞💞💞
Praise be the lord Jesus
"I could ask the same of you...", said Peter, to the Creator of the Universe.
This scene depicts happening so long ago. But in reality it could have happened yesterday.
thank you for this series
Many of us (myself included) have read or heard this account in Scripture for years. But The Chosen - you have done a PHENOMINAL job bringing this account to "life". To hear the emotion/vocal variety behind these words is powerful. And more relatable.
Thanks for sharing that the scene impacted you, Tara. Means a lot.
Pls help for my ministry if ur financial status good🫂🙏
John 13:34 KJV A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
I reviewed the verses mentioning Peter and Matthew, and so brilliant of the writers to stitch them together into this backstory. The Roundtable of this episode explained it. Thank you, I learn so much in the process ! 🎬📖
@johanne577, we love hearing how the Bible Roundtables helped give you a deeper understanding. :)

good evening to all here
