BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! My favorite moments of the piece: 6:39-6:43 (gave me goosebumps) 7:05 8:20 9:17 ( I especially loved how it went back to the main melody) 11:00 (made me start crying so beautifully played💙💙) 11:19 11:32 12:15 12:25 (made me cry again) Well done!!!!
great version. very many recordings - either live or studio recordings didnt realize, that this is a piano concert and NOT an orchestral sinfonie. in soooo many recording the orchestra dominating the piano which is very often quite too silent. not here. i am pretty sure, that this is one version rachmaninoff would love.
I do agree that Rechtman's arrangement sounds well and really helps the balance! It also offers the pianist a possibility to explore more nuances, as there are less risks to be covered by the orchestra... Best wishes, Beatrice
this reminds me in a vague sort of way of the feelings i get from Faure Pelleas and Mellisande, or maybe a different piece that's on my album with the Requiem....lovely
Beautiful rendition, thank you, I'm so impressed and proud of you! Liszt may be your favorite but you play Russian music beautifully, with soul and skills! It's time the world knows about your talent, c'mon everybody, start spreading the news!
Slow and sublime. Helene Grimaud's interpretation is no longer my single favorite. Better than the version in David Lean's "Brief Encounter". Thank you for sharing this!
Dear Mister Soloway, if you're still interested, I noticed the Tel Aviv Museum uploaded the 1st mvt a while ago! It is to be watched here : th-cam.com/video/eyuJI2lXjyI/w-d-xo.html Best wishes, Beatrice
Once again, thank you, Beatrice Berrut. I got turned off to Rach by my brother's violent interpretation of some famous piece hackneyed by overuse :-) and a certain bravura concerto that was played to death in the 60's. My g/f Bronwyn turned me on to some lovely Rachmaninoff that she plays (piano teacher/composer). I have maybe heard this piece once, but will check out why its considered important. Am just up to 2:12, and its already lovely. If you have time would love to hear your take on why its important (as opposed to just beautiful). And wow, the late 7th min that becomes the 8th min, is all of what i love about your way of playing, its celestial and .earthly at the same time, dramatic without losing the tenderness...congratulations!
At the end of the day, to my classic music lovers: th-cam.com/video/q59TrhYjbFI/w-d-xo.html Beatrice Berrut (Wallistal, CH) is always special to me. Her upbringing by a loving mother, led to this fantastic result. In this Adagio by Rachmaninoff you can feel how lonely she is in the big orchestra, but doing so extraordinarily well! Fur mich, sie kam vom Himmel. Liebe Gruesse
Just the first 9 bars of the 1st movement ( available here th-cam.com/video/eyuJI2lXjyI/w-d-xo.html ) tell us that this is going to be an exceptional performance by an extraordinary pianist who deserves much wider acclaim. It would seem that the powers that be in the music " industry " think otherwise. PER ASPERA AD ASTRA Beatrice.
Not criticism, but you are a top young pianist and yo seem to be sad and emotionless, which transmits to your audience. Otherwise, a superb interpretation of a difficult 2nd movement of a piano concerto that demands quite a bit on the soloist, like Rachmaninoff always did.
1:51 you start to hear Eric Carmen's All By Myself. Because that song was based on his classical
You are absolutely right :) best wishes, Beatrice

Goosebumps, every time I hear the climax to this movement
It is gorgeous and heart-wrenching music indeed ! Best wishes, Beatrice

Very nice interpretation. Very nicely captures the schwebende Stimmung of this Adagio.
