    I have an outside hot water tap I simply fill a couple of watering cans full of hot water. It takes a couple of minutes, in combination with the cars own heating system. (Ps always start off by pouring hot water on the metal part of the cars roof first, before allowing it to run down the frozen windscreen. This takes the shock of very warm water on the wind screen.

    That’s why you need a car Cover, and I’m surprised he’s not heard of a ice scrapper

    How does the battery last in this climate? Holy smokes !

    That was quite the coating of ice.

      That is my gut feeling also, but this ice was really severe. It worked fine though.

      Model 3 is as least as fast as model S in this regard.
      Yeah, the Jaguar still works good with melting the ice away.

    Do I assume either you don't have the heated windscreen or the remote climate doesn't use it? I haven't had the chance to test yet

      Used climate activation from the app, which also activates heated windscreen. My car is equipped with that.

      @@eirik500 interesting. Surprised the heated windscreen took that long but it was as you say very thick ice.

      @@EVOwner yes, bit as you can see the water is running below the ice already after 10 minutes. Could probably get it off easily manually then, but wanted to check if it disappeared completely. I believe maybe the small sheet of air between the ice and screen was the problem. But even on High temp the air is not that hot.

      @@eirik500 Yes got the impression you could have cleared the front earlier. Great test. Thanks for having the patience to do it and hope your fingers did not get too frozen.

    Have you ever had issues with frozen / malfunctioning door handles that wont retract? We have a 2019 i pace and had some freezing rain here in Canada which has occasionally caused this. It's very frustrating

    • @eirik500
      @eirik500  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@matcltd I only had this car for one winter, and freezing rain like in the video is rare. Doesn't preheating help you? In general, silicone spray on plastic and rubber gaskets is much needed in the winter on all cars.

    It works perfectly because it is well engineered.

      JLR have a world class testing facility and all there cars will work in -40 and are taken to extreme parts of the world to test

    Lithium ion battery can't hold charge efficiently in cold temperature.

      Disagree. Ghost drain was not noticeable this winter. But heating the car and battery pack use some capacity, naturally.
