I finally was able to put mine on, and it's almost impossible to not smile at the sounds now.
It sounds so good haha
Honestly, you do the best reviews out there. Keep them coming, well done sir!
Thanks dude!
I have a c7.5 (2017) A6 3.0T CREC and this setup worked AMAZING on my car. Thank you for the invaluable content - especially when it comes to the CREC motors. There is very little information out there. FYI looks like BLOX racing got more of the 7''' filters in stock as I ordered a week ago and got it in about 4 days.
Great to hear!
Hello! Whats the acual size of the air filter? I cant find anywhere the exact lenght of it, or oppening. Tho that should be around 4inch
Its about 7" long, and the opening is 6 or 6.5" to fit on the velocity stack... Can't remember off hand
Just installed this in my 2013 S4 last week had to get the 5" filter since the 7" was out of stock. I was shocked at how quick and east it was to install. I used a 7/32 bit and brute force for the barb in the coupler and none of the hose clamps that came with the intake were large enough, however my local Walmart had ones that did. Last intake I installed was on a r53 mini and it took a while I had this one 90% done during my smoke break at work. The sound is so satisfying and kicks in so low that I don't need to worry about mpg loss.
Haha glad you like it!
Nice! I have a set up like this on my S4. I used a Flowmaster filter though because it has an inverted cone at the front as well. And I used a Spectre velocity stack. I cut the oem airbox to keep the fresh air route from the grill. Glad to see that it should be working pretty well. I didn't do any testing lol.
What kind of tube/pipe/hose did you use in place of this metal one?
@@MrRubenixa I use duct tube from Home Depot 😂 the plan was to run an aluminum tube like Cameron did here and the duct tube was just for testing. But it actually seems to work fine so I just never changed it. I do plan on eventually using an aluminum tube once I get back into going out to do car things again.
...and just like that!! Another Great DIY Video my guy🙏🙌💪
🙌🏼
so wild, i started watching you a few weeks ago after I got my 2017 3.0T prem +.. just did a DIY intake yesterday, but was wondering about IAT's. thank you
Is doing a setup like this any different for the CREC engine or is it the same? (Assuming yours is a CREC since its a 2017)
Mine is not a CREC. This should work the same though
@@AudiC7Owners Great! I'm still fully stock and doing all preventative maintenance first. But the list of parts to buy is definitely growing
Can’t fail here, clear as glass!!
Thanks again🎉🎉
Oh! How can I get some merch?
The C7 T shirt especially?
Message C7VEN on Instagram for their stuff. For my merch check the links in the description of the video 👍🏼
I wished I could get my 4L Q7 exhaust to sound like yours..
I'm waiting on JHM downpipes to arrive this coming week. Now I need some mufflers that sound good when you're on it, but quiet in the cabin when you're on long trips.. And not cost an arm and a leg..
This channel man, the bees knees! Great video again brotha! 🤙🤌
I have a B8.5 S5 as well! Looking forward to hearing what you had to do differently to adjust it! Do you know approximately when we'll hear back about that? Thank you so much for your contribution
Some time next week more than likely
@@AudiC7Owners cannot wait!
@@AudiC7Ownershi , a little bit off topic but could you help me with a problem? Do you know or do you have a friend who is using the strut bar from ecs tuning combine with the bigger throttle body from 034? Because they say it’s not working with the factory intake and the apr ultracharger but they don’t know if the 034 tb will work with it
I don't know at all. Sorry man
Love this video!! I have a B8.5 S5 as well and I’d love to hear what you find out. Any ideas when you’ll know more? Thanks!
Did you ever get to finish the S4 install? This one looks amazing and sounds bananas
Ordered! Looking forward to replacing my roc euro intake which has a tiny tube!
Same here..
Nice bud! I was actually gonna put out a video about the same thing. Obviously different type of custom air bc I did something different. But that was the whole point of the video. Love the break down too.
Thanks man!
I'm a Audi owner. I just subscribed ❤️
Welcome!
Hell Yeah Brother
Just ordered my components. Not everything was in stock through your amazon link though I wish it was so I could have given you a bit more referral bonus for putting this all together, Thanks!
No worries!
I put this in my 2015 A6 C7 yesterday and seems like there is a lot more airflow. Definitely more responsive as advertised and the whine is nice. Does anybody notice that the whole air intake including the stainless steel becomes quite hot to touch after running? After a 20 minute drive mine is almost (not quite) too hot to touch. No other issues.
It's right next to the engine so it's gonna get hot. Doesn't effect anything though
Excellent video sir!
Thank you! I'm just out here hurting hot air intake Bois feelings 🤣🤣🤣
The link doesn't work. Also, how do I go about this for my '17 sq5? I came back to the video to look but I can't find it.
How about a true CAI? I have the HPS 4"pipe to a coupler to another 4"pipe facing down, putting the bottom of the filter about 2", above the bottom vent, which i cut out all the holes. wrapped in the gold heat tape . Put on a filter cover to avoid any water and my IAT's and recovery are insane for FL. after full temp, pop the hood touch the pipe going down to filter and it is just a COLD piece of aluminum.
The air temperature going into your filter doesn't effect IAT's at all. I'm going to release a video on this soon.
I have two questions for you after seeing this:
On your Facebook post in one of our groups, you said that open vs closed intake would make no difference which I accept, but when someone told you that a heat shield shield would make a difference, you didn't fight him. You just repeated that open vs closed makes no difference. Why are you saying that the heat shield wouldn't make a difference?
Do you have data logs for IATs to show? I wonder if we'd see any difference between the two.
Thanks
Did anyone ever work out which parts are needed to be different if any for a b8.5 or b8 s4?
Same exact parts. He has a new video now. Just put mine on my s4
Curious why you wouldn't put the barb in the metal instead of the silicone elbow, then you can tighten it as hard as you need to
Bc the barb has a flat metal backing that cannot contour to the curve of the metal pipe. You would never get a seal.
The silicone can compress/stretch to flatten with the backing of the barb for a perfect seal.
Do you have any other suggestions for the filter kit? The blox racing one is out of stock 😢
I have c7 a7 tdi, I'm trying to figure out if I can use this on it
Hey I know it’s been a while but I had a question, as I live in Oman and getting a 4 inch leg is harder and expensive with shipping. Would it be okay if I just went with a 3 inch leg with a 3 inch silicone hose from the throttle body? Also a 3 inch BMC filter with no velocity stack?
Purchased the parts today along with the SAI filter. Did you ever find a bracket or heat shield part?
Hey the vacuum seal isn’t available on your list, do you know how many mm it is? There are others available on Amazon just not sure on what size to order. Great video tho
Hi there,
I ordered everything on the list and everything but the pcv fitting seem to work.
The fitting looks to be a 3/16" but my vacuum line looks to be 1/2".
It is easily twice as big as this fitting
This is on a 2013 Q5
I just took of the air intake to see if that’s what was causing my epc code to pop up but I’m stumped with this issue. I also notice a lot of people run with open air intake instead of closed
This is the video I meant to comment on about if this would work on an 2014 A7, my engine bay looks identical to yours so I think it would.
Yes it will
Anybody end up figuring out a list or differences needed for SQ5?
Now need to make custom heat shield, im just not gonna pay 300 for piece of bented metal..
Heat shield is unnecessary unless you want it for support or looks
I seriously need to know, will those parts work on a C6 A6?
Same here would love to do this that intake screams
They should! You might have to tweak it a bit
@AudiC7Owners Great!! I will tweak, twerk...whatever! Thanks Cameron!
@@charlesdavis5803 lol
I know this was 9 months ago, but hopefully you see this. If i install this, do i need to do any reflashing or tuning of the ECU to update the air:fuel mixture? I've been wanting to put an intake for a while but i'm really hesitant to do so because I'm not sure exactly what steps to take so I don't mess up the car lol. Awesome videos BTW they are all extremely useful.
Nope. Swap Em out and have fun
@@AudiC7Owners Heck yeah man. Thank you! Your videos help tremendously.
Your tiny URL for parts list is failing for me. But the Amazon shop thingy worked fine. Much appreciated, Cameron.
Is the OEM TB 3" or 3.5"?

Can you tell me an opinion on these open filters/oil filters. Cons and pros I heard they are not so great actually
This looks great, I think I'd like to do this. So what 4" aluminum tubing would I need for my B8.5 S5? Thanks for your input as this is the only thing holding up my purchase.
I'm doing an install on am s5 this week & will know for sure after that
@@AudiC7Owners Sweet, I went ahead and purchased everything but the 4" aluminum tube. Excited to see what you come up with!
I have all of my parts on hand now, just waiting to hear about the 4" aluminum tubing that you use for the S5 install. I'm surprised the 45 degree bend with the 7inch Leg you used wouldn't work. Hope to hear from you soon, I can't wait to change out this old Roc Euro. I'm thinking of cutting the heat shield that came with it to fit the 4"in pipe through and hopefully keep the heat shield which might also act as a brace. Also that vibrant vacuum line fitting kit which I have, Is it really needed? Can you do the install without it and just plug the hose? I remember back in the day the old CAI on my honda we disconnected the line and capped off the intake because it just pumped in heat from the crankcase during cold starts. I live in FL and there is no need to ever pump hot air into a motor to start it. Just wasn't sure if this would cause a problem on the 3.0T otherwise it would seem better off just capped? I'm guessing people aren't doing this for a reason.
@@WeI3I3ywhat did you end up using??
Dude awesome video! Thank you, any idea if it would Work for a Q7 14’ 3.0t?
I sure you could. Might have to make small changes in fitment of the pipe
@@AudiC7Owners thanks for the reply back
Can I get my Audi a6 to start with the airbag blown? Why won't it kick over! 😭
Hello I know you put the link for the parts below but did you order the filter kit from Amazon or directly from blox bc I keep getting 3,5 in velocity stack
Can it be installed in A7. Didn't see the video fully yet.
Did you do the b8.5 yet to see what different parts were needed?
This worked on my C6.5, however theres not enough room in the bay for the filter to be near the front, so mine is pointed downwards. The scoop is still funneling air towards the filter however its close to the exhaust so im sure its losing power
Engine bay temperatures have no effect on your power. That's a myth on these cars. You are fine.
@@AudiC7Owners Thanks! Is there a video you made addressing this? It seems like a hot topic
No, but I probably will. But your car isn't naturally aspirated. It's the entire reason you have a heat exchanger and intercooler cores in the supercharger
@@AudiC7Owners this intake is amazing, I was so excited to go to work this morning lol this has to be one of the loudest intake setups for this engine
Haha I'm glad you like it!
have you tried the K&N filter for our cars? how is it?
How big is the filter outlet
The intake filter you included in the Amazon list has been sold out for quite some time, but I see you put a different filter on there is that for the 3.0t ?
Yes. The aFe filter works as well, but you will still need a velocity stack
Dope I like 💯🔥
Why didn’t you mention the APR intake ? Released maybe 3 years prior to 034 and flows just as good I’m pretty sure.
Apr open* I’m referencing. I actually run the closed unit to keep things mellow, sure there is a hit.
The APR is a smaller diameter pipe, so it does not flow as well.
Not to mention the Carbon Fiber they use yellows after a couple years.
What mods do you have? Just curious. I have a stock A6 with an Injen CAI.
Does this work with the stock airbox if we wanted to?
Getting this custom cold air intake set up this week but wanted to check and see if I need to tune the car After installation? Or not needed?
I wouldn’t want the car to start throwing me codes.
Nope. No tune required
@@AudiC7Owners Thank you! I’ll be ordering parts today.
Did you or someone ever figure out the pipe for the S4/S5?
Unfortunately the vibrant vacuum fitting didn't fit in the hose, the diameter on hose is bigger and the fitting fit loose, I might have a bigger hose that yours..I'll see if I can get an adapter or a bigger vacuum fitting.
Let me know what you find. I zip tied my hose on the fitting & advent had an issue
@AudiC7Owners ok I'll try to attach it with a zip tie to see if it seals good.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did you ever create a bracket to secure the filter or did you just leave it alone?
Just left it alone. Never had any issues
@@AudiC7Owners Nice. I’ve had mine on for months. No issues. I suppose I’ll leave it alone too. Thanks.
I'm looking to make one for a b8.5 s5
I uploaded a video specifically about the B8 application
@@AudiC7Owners Thank you and again, it's appreciated. I'm honestly not a teenager. Just saying I'm very old school. I'm like a pen and paper guy and phone calls like. Oh, everything online. Just sometimes there's a lot besides this particular car. I also have A V10. S6 that I'm looking to do some different things with.
So honestly, a phone call would be absolutely amazing. If we could make that happen one day for a couple minutes that would be great completely up to you
Dose the SAI breather filter just screw on ?
Was thinking about getting this setup. Any luck on a support yet?
Not yet. Haven't really needed it
I just ordered parts to build this intake for a b8.5 S4, I plan on designing some sort of mount to support the intake once I’ve got it built. If you’re still looking for a solution for this let me know and I’ll tell you what I came up with once it’s done.
@@drewgardner2698 how did this go, did this exact intake fit?
@@svtperks2027 yes it did, however it seems to be always sold out and hard to get. They originally sent me the wrong filter but I was able to get a refund and then reorder the correct one through a different AMZ vendor
Have you done the install on the b8.5 I don’t see anything in the comments or description. I’d like to do this custom setup on my b8.5 s4
Working on doing this to mine in the next few weeks. I’ll let you know if/when I get to it!
Any idea why my headlights would be getting no power and the alarm system going off every time I lock the car?
Sounds like some kind of a wiring short. You need to get it diagnosed at a shop
I can't find the 4" BLOX kit anywhere, it's saying its currently unavailable.
They’ll be available towards the beginning of February or late January, some say in stock but they will be on back otder
Sick asf…. I’m doing this!! Asap! 🫡🫡
I bought the afe dry filter, but it doesn't have the stacker or the coupler to attach the filter, where could I get these parts?
I sourced everything through Amazon
Most of the parts are unavailable to buy right now. Lets hope they will put it on stock.
People have been buying them as soon as they get in stock
Taking the oem intake out to swap with the one in the video and cant figure out how to get the secondary injection line off of the oem intake box. Do you have a video showing taking the oem intake system out?
Nope, but the easiest way is to put your passenger side on a jack stand, remove the wheel or turn it all the way to the left. Undo you're fender liner & pull it back. Once you do you will have direct access to the bottom of your box.
You have to squeeze the clamp on the fitting & work it off.
@@AudiC7Owners thank you!
I just attempted to install mine this morning and the throttle body hose seemed a little big. Should I try and find a 2.5" or will the 3.0" work correctly? Also, where should I be putting the secondary line after installing it to the filter. Let it just hang...?
The 3" works perfectly OK cm oem throttle body.
I zip tied my SAI to the side of the fender. Just secure it over there somehow
is the velocity stack all one piece or there a piece of silicone around keeping it attached to the pipe?
The stack itself is one piece
Are the IAT comparable to stock intake?
Intakes don't have an effect on the iat's on these engines
What if i have stock throttle base, what silicon would i need …. fully stock just got it today.

Question: I currently have a 2016 audi a7 currently have it stage 1 with a pulley upgrade and a enclosed cold air intake from ecs tuning. Have you ever had any issues with that cold air intake? I had mine installed but I use to hear a small knock in the box. Have you ever heard of any issues with something like that. ?
I don't have any experience with that intake, but I can tell you that keeping the filter in an enclosed box is cutting off air flow to your intake. I would do my best to make that filter open. If there is a lid on the box take it off. You want air surrounding that filter to Aid in the flow. Trying to make sure that the filter is in colder air is negligible because the air is going to be superheated when it is compressed in the supercharger anyways.
Do you know if I can measure IAT with obd11?
Thanks, i like these intake , ill check the parts list, and great price
Yes you can. But intakes have no effect on iat's for the 3.0t
@AudiC7Owners what affects IATs ? Supercharger intercoolers or having leaks?
Some parts from the list are not available , hopefully they will be soon..👍
Your supercharger Coolant Loop efficiency is what effects your iat's
Do the parts come with the clamps? I ordered the parts but nothing came the clamps so far
The blox racing kit comes with clamps
Is the size of the filter important? The bigger the filter the more performance and gains?
I ordered the afe and the blox racing to compare them , they shoul be pretty close in performance right?
They are almost identical in size so either one will be great to use.
You don't want too big a filter as you want to maximize airflow around it
would i be able to do this to my 2013 audi a8 3.0 v6 tfsi?
Yes but you may need to play with the fitment
So i ended up installing a CTS 3.5 intake but while trying to disconnect the secondary air fuel hose under the box i ended up disconnecting the whole thing. I thought this wasnt a big deal so after installing everything else, i started up the car & ended up getting a P0638 code, TPMS light, Max 950 rpm caution, and stability failure. Im thinking it has something to do with the Secondary air fuel hose i disconnected. Was super happy now im bummed out. :(
It isn't a fuel hose... Secondary air intake feeds air into your catalytic converters on cold start. Those codes shouldn't be from that.
The p0638 code is for your throttle body... Make sure the intake is fully on the tb. Did you do anything else to the car?
@@AudiC7Owners Hi! Fortunately the problem resolved on its own after a few hours of not using the car! The most I did before starting it up again was just snugging the Silicone coupler a bit inside the tb. The Audi mechanic lady i called told me to replace it back to the oem and to not ever use aftermarket parts on an Audi. Thankfully It didnt have to come to that 😭
@@AudiC7Owners As far as the secondary breather hose ill just have to get a local mechanic to remove my skid plate and snap it back on wherever it popped out of.
how does the oem intake compare to the custom one on those charts
Even worse than the bad open intake
Did you put a filter on the SAI? If so, what size?
I cannot believe I forgot to mention that. I have the breather filter from IE
Ive got a question: I have a 2013 A6 with the b8 supercharged engine and currently im running a custom exhaust setup with no tune and want to get a cold air intake for the engine, do you know if i would need a tune to run the intake plus exhaust or if any damage would occur to the engine if i decided to not get a tune?
You don't need any tune for exhausts or intakes.
Blox ran out of filters and doesn't know when they would be back in stock... is there another filter that can be used for the setup?
Thanks in advance
Yep! Try the aFe 21-60507. It is slightly longer, but should work just fine.
@AudiC7Owners thank you. I just ordered my kit.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks a lot for all the info on-air intake. I've been driving around with a big grin. I used a k&n filter until I get the one I ordered
Its during IDLE & BRAKING which is DAILY normal driving which will which without enclosed open pods like this suffers. I have experimented these with my evo9 before. During braking, hot engine air Gushes forward, causing Filter to suck load of hot air, IAT climbed. During IDLE in hot traffic lights, U are surely sucking in hot Radiant Heat Air all stuck inside the engine bay. These have been Facts in the car world for Centuries.
For your c7, it also largely depends on whether are there any ar coming in from foglight area, if u do, enclosed pod will fair better for daily normal driving thats for sure.
Purely looking at high RPM power band, no your hot air sucking open pod does not affect by that margin.
034 etc are rather automotive knowledgeble reputable companies than most of us amatuers really..
*Sharing and Discussing.
Does it fit the same in a 2013 a8 3.0t?
Should be very close. You might need to play with the fitment
Do all the clamps come with the part you ordered
You will need clamps for the silicone piece that attaches to your tb
Would the parts list work for a 2016 facelift a6 3.0T?
Yep!
curious if this would fit on my 2018 Q7 3.0T?
If it's a supercharged engine then yes you can make one like this to fit
@@AudiC7Owners sweet. Plan on getting something like this. Was excited about having a supercharged vehicle and was bummed when I realized I couldn't really hear it
how do you remove the stock air box, is there anything i should watch out for?
Once you detach the ram air duct from it & glove the oem tube it just pulls out of these rubber holders in the frame real.
But there is an SAI Hose connected to the bottom of the intake box that is difficult to access.
Easiest way to get to it without it breaking is to lift your passenger side of the cae, remove the front wheel, and then undo the front of your fender liner to pull back. Once you pull that fender liner back you will have direct and open access to the bottom of your intake box and it is a lot easier to remove that hose without breaking it.
Thank you
Bro iv been watching you for a while am also a c7 owner but how fast is your car ?
question. i just bought an a7 and it has an almost identical intake installed, there is a tube below where the actual filter is, which is attached to my secondary air injection pump, sense that hose is not connected to the intake in any way i’m pretty sure that’s what’s throwing my engine code for bank 1 and 2 for my secondary air injection pump, has anyone else had this issue running an intake similar to this
That tube is stand alone, but should have a filter attached to it

I just clicked on it & it worked for me
What do i need to know if I want to do this for a b8 (not .5, if it matters) 3.0t?
Just need to measure the length of the piping you need and the angle you need for it
@@AudiC7Owners I'll buy what you linked, and report back here. I've been looking at intakes for these engines, and I've noticed that a lot of them center around modifying the stock air box. That would be a fine base because it's really well designed, but I would like to keep the stock air box stock just in case I ever want to go back. In Washington I don't have to worry about inspections, but it's nice to know that I always have something to fall back to. In your experience, how did doing this affect your IATs? I love the sound though..... I might just do it for that if the IAT change isn't too bad.
Intakes have no effect on iat's on forced induction cars
@@AudiC7Owners sorry, I don't think I understand. Aren't IATs, IATs regardless? If it's pulling cold air it's pulling cold air and if it's pulling hot air it's pulling hot air.
The air coming in through your intake goes nuclear when it is compressed in a supercharger/turbo. That's the reason forced induction cars have intercoolers of some kind... To cool the air post compression before it goes into the combustion chamber.
Our car actually has 3 intercoolers... Your heat exchanger and two intercooler cores inside the supercharger. They are all there to cool the air after it is superheated in compression inside the supercharger.
What do you do with the hose that's normally inside the factory airbox that connects to the end of the filter? I'm not even sure what it is, like an air recirc of some kind? Either way, I'm not sure what to do with it that won't trigger a CEL lol
I completely left this out of the video by mistake. That's your SAI hose & it needs a filter. I'm going to upload a short about this soon. I got a filter for 35$ from IE, but they're are cheaper ones out there
Nice patch... We are using it in Ukraine ;)
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
That's awesome. Keep up the good fight
