@@jessieirving5707 I think it’ll be fine. He’s still young. As long as when the twins grow up she doesn’t let him decide everything like that. But right now it’s all in good fun.
He is actually not young, he is going to be four in December. Believe me, I speak from experience. I let me my oldest pick and decide things for himself/the family and now he doesn’t take no for an answer. The way Colleen would say Flynn insists is a worrying. Her and Erik are the parents, they insist and should teach him that other peoples opinions and wants matter too. This is just one example but watching her vlogs every day, you can see so many other examples of Flynn doing what he wants. Don’t even get me started on the toys everyday.
@@jessieirving5707 I have these exact thoughts. It had me worried when she said she tried talking Flynn out of the costumes for everyone, and to let them decide, and he refused. I feel like this could be a set up for behavior that will be hard to discipline. If he doesn't learn it now, it's just going to make things harder for her in the future.
When you said “this is where mommy grew up” to Maisie about your childhood bedroom, it made me emo! So sweet that you can share that stage of your life with your kids :)

COLLEEN!!!! a couple halloweens ago my aunt made her son a car costume - she used suspenders as the straps!! so that you can just clip it right onto the box :) i think she also put little paddings on the straps so it's still somewhat comfy!! hope this helps! 🫶 sending love and hugs to y'all
Maisy is so expressive! I loved her baby talk while looking at the camera! ☺️ And Colleen, you are so talented! The costume that you are making for Flynn looks incredible! 💗 And you should just buy some black elastic bands from a fabric shop (like the kind people sew into leggings and slip on skirts) and use those for the straps for Flynn’s costume. That way it won’t flop around.

everytime colleen uses that one song it makes me think of baby flynn. hes grown up so much i remember when he used to call cars dar dars. times really change and im so proud of colleen for becoming such a wonderful mother.❤
Hey Colleen, I love your videos so much! I love how you and Erik interact with each other and how much love you pour into your children. I know I'm just a stranger, but it is concerning that Flynn isn't learning that everyone should have a choice in what they choose for their costumes. By him being insistent that everyone wears the costumes he wants them to wear, he's learning that his choices are all that matter. While he's young now, these behaviors can gradually get worse as he gets older, unless they're addressed sooner. With the twins growing, they're going to want to choose things for themselves. It could be a huge problem if Flynn has only seen that his choices were accepted, even when you were trying to tell him no, but then gave in. Obviously we aren't there all day to see everything that goes on, so I could be completely wrong. It's just something I noticed that had me concerned. I also speak from experience with my own kids. It's so much harder to break them of a habit or behavior when they're older than when they're younger. All of us parents are still learning, and we won't get it perfect. You're doing the best you can, so give yourself some grace. Just coming from one momma to another, one who's had to break a difficult habit I allowed with my kids, I just want to help as best I can. ❤️❤️❤️

You could try doing ‘The wizard of oz’ costumes, you could be the evil witch, Maisy as Dorothy, Wesley as the lion , Flynn as the Tinman and and Erik as the Scarecrow.
Colleen is such a cool mom. My mom never worked like that on my Halloween costumes.
I was also shocked about people not being so close to their cousins! People talked about their siblings the way I talked about my cousins. I’m 27 and having a cousin night to catch up this week, and I’m so excited! They’re all married with kids now and we all have jobs and lives so we never see each other unless we make it happen.

When we were little, my mum made us lady bug costumes out of cardboard. We rarely got store bought costumes, so I love seeing homemade costumes. Especially ones that aren't movie production level costumes (bc some kids had THOSE parents)

I say this with the utmost respect for you -- I always skip over the section of your vlogs where you open your packages because I suppose the level of consumerism bothers me. I was just wondering if you've ever considered how this segment of your videos might promote/influence/normalize consumption. I know this likely isn't coming across the way I want it to, but I promise it's just a thought provoking question that I wanted to ask. If you disagree, I completely understand and will continue to watch all your wonderful videos if you'll have me!

For the straps if you poke a hole in the sides of the car and thread the strap through, then you can tie it in a knot and hopefully give it more stability than just glue!
