Thank you, that helps me a lot. Mine was overheating just from sitting when it was a little warmer outside. But my fans won't be turning on when it was over Heating.
I’m having this same issue they either turn on and only run for a few seconds then don’t run at all, it stopped doing this problem months ago now it’s doing it again, and I kid you not sometimes when I get out and punch the fans they turn on
Hi buddy, I hope after two years you can answer my questions I just see your video I got my 2007 Silverado classic may call in fans or my radiators fans turn on after two seconds stutter the truck but they blow fast faster than normal never stops. Any idea appreciate it. Thank you.
If NOTHING works. And you changed everything and checked all the fuses ETC . The big orange wire is broken left drivers side under the floor board near the hood release! Trust me.
I have this problem .I’ve tried everything that it might be ,yet they still don’t turn on.I’ve changed relays ,the temperature sensor and I know the fans work cause I’ve tested them . What else can you recommend
There's a diagram but it won't let me add it that shows how the fans work they're wired in series through three relays that will make it start out one fan on low speed and then when you turn the air conditioner on both fans come on on low speed only running 6 volts a piece and then once the temperature sensor reads approximately 190° or above both fans should run 12 volts making it run high speed until it cools down below 185
@betod3113 yes...I've noticed if I sit for too long like 20mins running the temp gauge will rise but goes back down when I turn on the AC or Defrost. It doesn't do that all the time but I noticed it sometimes. Other times it can run for an hour and never move on the gauge. .
I know this is old. But I’m currently doing my 05 as well. Same set up. But my thermostat gauge reads what that one did in your video but my obd2 read 221F😮
What if the fan keeps running when the truck is cold and won’t turn off, would that be a faulty coolant temp sensor. I’ve pulled the fuse, it turns off and turns back on when the fuse is put back in.
Gotta undo the curved brace next to fuse block.pull fuse block cover off completely you see a separate fuse block with 2 fuses and 3 relays.these are for your cooling fans on my 05 yukon at least.
Mine are not turning on even when I put the AC on somethings wrong what could it be? I have a 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500. I even have the updated PCM that I installed yesterday. I had to do the relearn and they are still not coming on. I can hear the AC unit click but then the AC comes off a little bit, so I’m not sure if it has something to do with the ground or the wires
Is it normal or the same for a 2010 Silverado 5.3 v8 that it turns on after 210, mine doesn't just do it with the AC, can someone answer that question for me?😢
@@cedmac3366 No, my question is if these types of trucks turn on the fans at what temperature, I don't see that they turn on at 210 Silverado 5.3 v8 I don't see the Needle temperature rise to 210

I have a 06 Silverado and my fans turn on when it reaches 226 then it goes back to 210 why is that happening I already change the water pump and the thermostat and nothing helps
What brand of thermostat did you use? I recommend using an AC Delco or Fail Safe. Stay away from Autozone Duralast, they will fail and stick closed which will lead to overheating.
I would say that your thermostat is sticking in the closed position which would cause your vehicle to reach that temp. I would recommend replacing your thermostat.
Thanks. But I already replace radiator thermostat and the main hose of the radiator and I even change the temp sensor I have a 2007 GMC Yukon but after all that still goes all the way to 224 then comes down once a the fans kick it. Any other suggestion what bout the water pump
@@rickylopez454 ok. I also have a 07 Yukon and the temp on that never moves past the middle at 210. Also what brand of thermostat did you use for your replacement? I ask this because Autozone brand will fail and stick closed. Also yes the water pump could be an issue depending on how old it is but would usually show signs of leaking or serious overheating. Also try flushing your coolant.
Yea I did get it from autozone it was duralast. That’s the things bout the water pump I don’t see any sign of a bad water pump no white smoke no leaking anything and I did a cooland flush to I guess that be the next things to do the water pump.thanks tho
@@rickylopez454 Ok then theres your first problem...Autozone duralast thermostats are the worst on the market. Replace it with an AC Delco and that may solve your issue. Good Luck!
