Well shit my friend I’m very glad to have you Danish. I should prob leave out I switch back to being on my mage full time ;). I love my warlock just was having troubles gearing him and content making wise mages have a lot of different farms to showcase. I will always love my warlock the most though. How’s the leveling been going for u on urs?
Ya I’m working on learning the 11 pack croc pull in zg. The onto learning Mara. But warlocks are a great utility for many guilds activities for sure. Once you get improved voidwalker talents where it can actually hold aggro then it will be smooth sailing. If u got tons of gold on ur main u can pay ppl to boost u through sm too that’s what I’m about to do on my hunter alt
Nice guide man thanks for covering this in detail!! I am going to try all these specs. Right now my lock is lvl 55 and I just returned after a long break
Been melee dps all my life. I always disliked the high fantasy vibe of the mage and their fire and frost spells, just seemed very generic to me. However, got into lock recently and really loving it so far. Not big on having pets so will definitely go DS/Ruin. Question: So SM gives you +10 pct damage on shadow spells, but DS gives you +15 pct to ALL shadow damage. Wouldnt that mean that the multiplier is added AFTER +spell damage gear? Making the damage bonus from DS muuuch more substantial once you start getting proper gear. I mean, its not 'just' an extra 5 percent. For example: - You have a shadow bolt dealing 500 damage plus 200 from gear = 700. Then with the SM bonus its 500*1,10 + 200 = 750. - You have a shadow bolt dealing 500 damage plus 200 from gear = 700. Then with DS bonus its (500+200)*1,15 = 805. And the gap would only increase with better gear.
So I'm not the leading expert in Warlock deep break down but I will tell you what I have been explained and read about. So you are right the extra 5% with well geared spells def makes a large difference end game wise. Though on the flip side SM/Ruin you lose the 5% but gain Nightfall. Along with nightfall those warlocks are usually only allowed to cast corruption with the debuff limit and that what lets them proc the nightfall. So SM/Ruin losses 5% overall damage but gains ability to use corruption and proc nightfall for instant cast of shadow bolt. Therefore most simulators that were used shows DS/Ruin with extra 5% performing like 1-2% better overall and you get an imp for buff on party members. My guild usually runs like 4-5 warlocks with only 1-2 max allowed to be SM/Ruin bc to close the gap in damage you have to always have corruption up and we only have the debuff slot open for one to two corruptions. As far as farming SM/Ruin is just nice overall as it does very well for farming, pvp and raiding with drain life, big nightfall procs and so forth. But min maxing 1-2% extra damage ds/ruin is the way to go. I hope I explained that good I tried my best to relay what I understand on how it all breaks down.
Dave The Gamer thanks for the response man! Im not a sweaty tryhard at all (I raid with an arms warrior.....), but I really dig the numbers game and going deep into the rpg mechanics just for fun. So its always good fun to have a discussion about this, even though it really doesnt matter that much in terms of raid performance. Will look forward to more of your videos :-)
Heck ya of course I also wondered the same myself between the two. I’m clueless on the warrior side of things I have always stayed mainly on the caster side. I got tons more vids I’m working on next one is bis for restro Druid comes out tomorrow
SL is extremely OP 1v1 but it isn't really that strong in BGs. Having extra range on your spells and more damage is more useful when you're already receiving peels.
This is very true great point! There are some great other pvp specs with more burst. I personally love SL running around like a mini raid boss but ur right I guess it’s situational
ya destro tree is very solid for pvp no doubt. I think soul link is most known in pvp terms along with ds/ruin and sm/ruin for farming/raiding. I like to go super tank for pvp but the destro tree does have some big 1 hit potentials though very squishy.
@@DaveTheGamer-detailedguides soul link is best for solo wpvp and nice for AB when you can solo def a base. However it is pretty useless for wsg cuz it has 0 burst and deals almost no damage in 8v8 fights, also makes it harder to quickly kill EFC. Conflagrate specs are the best for wsg for that reason.

Awesome man glad it helped

Pretty sure you can 6% spell hit from Bloodvine set alone.
2% chest. 1% legs 1% boots. I had to double check to be sure. The set bonus is 2% crit if 300 tailoring. Still 4% is pretty solid
SL is extremely OP 1v1 but it isn't really that strong in BGs. Having extra range on your spells and more damage is more useful when you're already receiving peels.

Is it bad I go with conflagrate for pvp?
No not at all a lot choose that route as it provides high burst damage just a little squishier
I love James
Ya he is the real legend
stanima

I’ll drop you a sub warlock brother
Holy shit voivid I’m doing something right if my video appeared for u. Thank you very much man I learned most of what I know watching your vids!!!
Dave The Gamer awesome bro! Keep the content coming!
