I just got the HCP. Love it. I'm a fan of the Blackhawk Serpa holsters and found that the one built for the Springfield XDS 3.3 fits the HCP Perfectly.
You can wear it in any position. Appendix, 3 or 4 o’clock. I will say though for that position you are better off buying something like a hybrid holster where it’s a leather type material against your skin and kydex on the outside. Something like a crossbreed holster or the versacarry. Kydex is horribly uncomfortable at 3 or 4 especially when seated in a vehicle
@@dofler so the Talon I use can be used in that position just the same as it can at appendix. I do want to say the cloth wrapped ones are more comfortable than standard kydex. It’s cloth on your skin all day vs plastic.
Reading your comments I realized I ordered the "Talon Slimline" instead of the regular "Talon..." Is there a dealbreaker between the two, that would make you lean a certian way?
If you take a look at the two pictures the slimline has a single wide belt clip attached at the same point as the concealment claw. The standard Talon has the double wide belt clip mounted in the center of the holster. Really it’s all personal preference and I prefer a wide clip centered on my holster. For me that gives a good balance for the holster rather than having it mounted on the side. I do have a slimline and it’s not bad, I just prefer the other
Got it, I looked on the website and I do see the difference thanks for that. Hopefully I can swap the holsters out. That clip being centered does seem like it would make a difference/be much better as far as gun weight being balanced. @@360TacticalSolutions
I purchased this holster based off your recommendation and I like it so far and the first IWB holster I've owned. It fits really snug with my TLR-7 sub, however it doesn't 'click' into place like some other holsters are designed to. How much does this matter?
I wouldnt at all worry about that. If it’s a fabric wrapped holster that is super common. The fabric insulates the sound a lot. The other thing is that light bearing holsters tend to not have that audible click sound. Thats because the retention is set at the light vs the trigger guard. There isnt anything to “snap” into with a light like there is on the trigger guard. As long as your gun feels secure but at the same time isnt so tight that you cant draw it, then you are good. How do you like that TLR7 Sub? Im considering ordering one
@@360TacticalSolutions Good point about not really having the ability to click in place with a light, I hadn't thought of that. Still, I'd like it if the Talon came with a retention screw-- might be something I play around with adding myself. I like the TLR-sub, it's size:light output ratio to me is good and pretty similar in output to the Olight PL-Pro I have on my XDM Elite. I also got the hel-port done on it, which I'm a personal fan of, and of course the Apex trigger. I appreciate your recommendations, they've worked out well so far!
Sitting down isnt horrible as long as I shift a bit as I sit down. It doesnt look like they still do the fabric wrap unfortunately but the Talon configuration is still my number 1. Right now im using one set up as a light bearing holster but its still the best for the money
Yes the talon has a wide belt clip and a concealment claw. The slim has a single wide belt clip installed where the concealment claw would be and it doesn’t have the claw. I prefer the standard Talon
Thank you so much. I’m looking at light options for it and it’s been tough. Or like you said, super expensive. Add the light is literally $20-$30 more. And then this and that and it’s expensive. This looks legit. Thanks again.
Great video you sold me on the sweat guard and fabric lining. I'm ordering one but I can't wait 2 months for production to carry. Do you have a alternative I can use until it comes in?
They definitely do. Link to order page -www.mckinatec.com/collections/frontpage/products/mth1-holster-appendix Scroll down and select your light, weapon, kydex etc etc. I just ordered another one yesterday.
All Kydex holsters will wear through the finish on a pistol after enough use. This is just how these things go. Leather is the only material that wont do that
How’s the fabric holding up? I am going to order from them but wasn’t sure if the fabric was going to start peeling or if it’s just better to go with pure kydex? I have ordered from them before and they are definitely slim holsters.
So far so good. There’s a little west at the bottom where it rubs my pants when I put the holster on but it’s not bad at all. One thing to note though, fabric wrapped holsters don’t have quite the audible click that a standard holster has. That’s not to say your weapon isn’t secure but the fabric makes the kydex form to the molds a little different. So when I holster mine it’s locked in but it doesn’t sound like my other ones. Also don’t forget to use 360TS for your discount code which I believe is 10% off
@@360TacticalSolutions okay awesome thank you for that. I did go ahead and use your code so I’m excited for that to arrive. Your channel helped me pick the Hellcat pro!
They are both great holsters that carry extremely well. Id say I lean toward the McKinatec though. I prefer the McKinatec because of its cost and available options. The Gcode Phenom only just recently added a light bearing option and I think I did that holsters review 2 years ago. You cant really customize the holster, no premium kydex options, no options for sweat guard length. The McKinatec Talon gives you all kinds of ways to make it your own and they do it at a great price
Thats a tough one. Im carrying a good 30 extra pounds. Part of the reason the Talon works well for me is that the Hellcat Pro is such a thin gun. I have a Talon for my M&P and it doesn’t feel as comfortable. I cant say how it will work with you or your body type but in terms of appendix carry holsters I’m very happy with this one. www.tacticalholsters.com/product/syncron-black/ This one is called the Syncron and im testing it right now. If you want to be able to conceal while being comfortable this thing so far is incredible. I feel like for larger guys this may be better than an appendix carry
Did you go with the Mid sweat guard option, or the High sweat guard? Pictures on their website don't show the difference between the two. I almost looks like you have the high version. Thanks man
Yes thats the high version. I don't like the mid version. To me the mid is more low than mid. I have another video on my page for the KinnaFlex rig and that one is the mid length sweat guard.
Just select none. Those options are for things like the S&W shield or glock 26 that has no rail but there are companies that produce an adapter so you do have a rail.
@360 Tactical Solutions thanks man I appreciate it. First gun I've ever bought and your channel helped the decision and I love my decision! Keep up all the great videos too!

Real good. Check my Apex upgrade video out. I love how this gun carries. Its light weight and super easy to conceal. Ill be switching back to the M&P on and off during the colder months but the Hellcat Pro is my daily grab and go for sure
Have you tried the Blackpoint Tactical Dualpoint 2.0 from Springfield? If so, I'd be interested in hearing your comparison between that one and the Talon.
I hadn’t heard of it till you posted this. Looks like they are an exclusive for Springfield. Honestly I can think of a dozen thing to spend that kind of money on before that holster. If it were half that price then I’d buy one. The retention on the trigger guard looks like its going to have a solid click which I love but thats the only positive I can give it. No options for sweat guard, no options for different kydex, built in concealment wing, low end hardware. S&W used to do these range packages where you got the pistol and a couple extra mags and a mag carrier/holster combo. They were super generic and really were no replacement for a good quality holster. I feel like thats what the Dual Point 2.0 is. Save some money and buy a Talon lol you will be a lot happier
This is the standard appendix carry version. The difference is the Slimline has a single wide belt clip and its mounted with the concealment claw. The standard version has the wide belt clip and its mounted in the center along the barrel
@@EmaZVeizo So you can take the appendix carry and mount a slim belt clip on the same mount as the claw to get the same effect. I actually think its an option on their site to add one to the cart. I personally dont like the slimline. It doesnt feel as secure. Seems to print more for me. Almost moves in the waistline. I feel like the wide belt clip separated from the concealment claw creates stability. So far this is the best holster I’ve used on any gun

@@360TacticalSolutions I love the hellcat pro was deciding between it and p365xl a few months ago and after your review I decided on the hellcat pro. I always been iffy about having a weapon mounted light but think I am going to buy the tlr 7a flex and the McKinatec talon to see if a wml is for me or not because I can't decide.
@@210s0uthstar just some advice so you know what you are getting into. With a light bearing holster the retention is on the light instead of the trigger guard. It feels like it’s not as secure because you dont get the same click when you put it in the holster. Thats because theres not a lot of way for the holster to squeeze the light. Thats fine. It’s not going anywhere. The tension created from your belt and pants keeps things where they need to be. Always gotta have the right expectations and a lot of people get upset when they order a light bearing holster and it doesnt click like their other ones. WML is always a good idea, especially if you have to go checking your house in the middle of the night
Well Gay In The South I'm glad you asked. Before we get to that though I have to ask..are you really world renowned actor and comedian Dave Chappelle? Because that that 180 tactical crack was incredible. I mean side splitting, shit yourself laughing and not at all just a dig to be an asshole right out the gate. Only a comedic genius like Chappelle could have dreamt up that comedy gold that you supplied us with there. Now if we can move past your embarrassing attempt at flaming the channel name and finally feeling some kind of superiority in life....actually I have 3 different lights here in my office that im testing for this gun. I haven't narrowed it down as to which one I want to keep on the Hellcat Pro full time. I ordered the holster a few days before I even went to buy the gun. I wanted to get a feel for the Hellcat Pro first as a gun just with iron sights and then second with a red dot. While going through the introduction period I will commonly switch between different lights till I find the one that I think suits the gun as well as myself best. So I guess the short answer is that I do have a weapon light, you just came looking for a reason to leave a shitty comment so congrats. Hope that made your day 👍
Mmnnn the holster isn’t meant to protect the glass on the red dot. Actually the only holster you will find that does that is an outside the waistband duty holster that has a hood that covers the red dot. I think there might be two companies maybe 3 that make those. I don’t know what’s going to scratch your red dot while it’s in the appendix position but I feel like you are over thinking it. A good quality red dot is going to take quite a bit in order to scratch the glass and concealing it isn’t enough to do that
Lets see…I have 2 McKinatec for the HCP, 4 G-Code, 2 from Tier1, I have a Trex, a We The People, and there are a couple more that are in my holster bin for the HCP. Id have to go dig through it which im definitely not doing lol. Call it a sales pitch if you like, the one that I use every day is the McKinatec Talon. Buy it, dont buy it, thats up to you.
@@crimsonclover1588 I checked in and it looks like what you are trying to order is one of the premade items that come up from time to time. I just got the HCP. Love it. I'm a fan of the Blackhawk Serpa holsters and found that the one built for the Springfield XDS 3.3 fits the HCP Perfectly.
@@muddybear9178 I have a Blackhawk Serpa for my M&P. I use it on the drop leg platform from G-Code. Great combo
Can you use this holster at 3 or 4 o'clock position? or it's appendix only?
You can wear it in any position. Appendix, 3 or 4 o’clock. I will say though for that position you are better off buying something like a hybrid holster where it’s a leather type material against your skin and kydex on the outside. Something like a crossbreed holster or the versacarry. Kydex is horribly uncomfortable at 3 or 4 especially when seated in a vehicle
Awesome review, Ian mimicking your set up. What if I don’t appendix carry, which one of their holsters would you recommend please?
That’s a good question. What position other than appendix is most comfortable to you?
@@360TacticalSolutions IWB 4 O’clock position
@@dofler so the Talon I use can be used in that position just the same as it can at appendix. I do want to say the cloth wrapped ones are more comfortable than standard kydex. It’s cloth on your skin all day vs plastic.
Bought a holster on Amazon that fits it perfect. $30 with a claw. Holster DOES NOT BUDGE!!!
Which holster from Amazon?
Link?
Does this holster work with the flashlight in your other videos??
No but I do have another one of this same holster thats set up for use with the light.
Nice i see you can ask for customzation for flashlight option. Thanks!@@360TacticalSolutions
A year later, im looking for a comfortable appendix carry for my HCP. How are these to sit down with? Do you still love yours?
Sitting down isnt horrible as long as I shift a bit as I sit down. It doesnt look like they still do the fabric wrap unfortunately but the Talon configuration is still my number 1. Right now im using one set up as a light bearing holster but its still the best for the money
Do you know what the difference is between the Talon, and the Talon Slimline?
Yes the talon has a wide belt clip and a concealment claw. The slim has a single wide belt clip installed where the concealment claw would be and it doesn’t have the claw. I prefer the standard Talon
@@360TacticalSolutions Perfect, thank you!

@@360TacticalSolutions ok ,thanks man appreciate it
Thank you so much. I’m looking at light options for it and it’s been tough. Or like you said, super expensive. Add the light is literally $20-$30 more. And then this and that and it’s expensive. This looks legit. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video you sold me on the sweat guard and fabric lining. I'm ordering one but I can't wait 2 months for production to carry. Do you have a alternative I can use until it comes in?
I’m filming a review for the Phlster Enigma Express this weekend. That’s what I use when I’m going more casual and they have them in stock at Phlster
Apparently they don't make the talon light bearing anymore? I know this video is a year old. Any input?
They definitely do. Link to order page -www.mckinatec.com/collections/frontpage/products/mth1-holster-appendix
Scroll down and select your light, weapon, kydex etc etc. I just ordered another one yesterday.
@@360TacticalSolutions thank you. Was looking at the talon slim by accident
I did not see where you say you want the Talon to be fabric wrapped.
@@donjohnson4635 I don’t think they do fabric anymore
Does this holster show wear and tear on the slide? Does it scratch up the gun after a while?
Which one do you prefer? This or the G-Code?
They are both great holsters that carry extremely well. Id say I lean toward the McKinatec though. I prefer the McKinatec because of its cost and available options. The Gcode Phenom only just recently added a light bearing option and I think I did that holsters review 2 years ago. You cant really customize the holster, no premium kydex options, no options for sweat guard length. The McKinatec Talon gives you all kinds of ways to make it your own and they do it at a great price
darn. now I gotta get a mckinatec too. thank you for the response. @@360TacticalSolutions
Does the Talon work well if you have a bit of a “gut”?
Thats a tough one. Im carrying a good 30 extra pounds. Part of the reason the Talon works well for me is that the Hellcat Pro is such a thin gun. I have a Talon for my M&P and it doesn’t feel as comfortable. I cant say how it will work with you or your body type but in terms of appendix carry holsters I’m very happy with this one.
www.tacticalholsters.com/product/syncron-black/
This one is called the Syncron and im testing it right now. If you want to be able to conceal while being comfortable this thing so far is incredible. I feel like for larger guys this may be better than an appendix carry
@@360TacticalSolutions thanks for the reply, I’ll check it out, brother.
Great video brother.
Hey thanks. Really appreciate it
Is this the appendix holster or the slim line? Thank you I’m assuming it’s the appendix holster but two on the site looks similar. Thank you
This is the Talon. Very similar to the slimline except I believe the slimline doesnt have a claw and has a single clip where the claw is mounted
The holster looks great but which rail option did you select. I got the rest figured out by the video but not that selection part..

Question... with same screws being used for tension and claw, does claw tighten enough or does one or the other need to be compromised?
Both screws have a rubber grommet so they both act as retention. The claw is nice and tight as well as the retention being usable
Can I connect? The talon to the ingma
Yes, totally compatible. I will so thought that I like the Enigma Express better. I have a review on that set up. It comes with a holster already attached and is slightly different than the standard enigma. Seems to work a bit better
Why the claw? I'm a newbie to holsters.
Your belt pushes against it which makes the grip of your gun push closer to your body. Helps with concealment
Have you used it carrying strong side iwb?
It works strong side IWB. Ive never liked that position myself though. Im definitely more AIWB
How’s that Hellcat pro holding up?
@@360TacticalSolutions Interesting points. Thanks for the insight!
Is this the slimline or the “appendix carry” version, they have two model talons on the site
This is the standard appendix carry version. The difference is the Slimline has a single wide belt clip and its mounted with the concealment claw. The standard version has the wide belt clip and its mounted in the center along the barrel
@@360TacticalSolutions have you tried both? How wound they differ in terms of comfort, functionality, etc?
@@EmaZVeizo So you can take the appendix carry and mount a slim belt clip on the same mount as the claw to get the same effect. I actually think its an option on their site to add one to the cart. I personally dont like the slimline. It doesnt feel as secure. Seems to print more for me. Almost moves in the waistline. I feel like the wide belt clip separated from the concealment claw creates stability. So far this is the best holster I’ve used on any gun
@@360TacticalSolutions sweet, thanks for the info, looking to get one for my pro that supports the Viridian laser and Holosun, I just messaged them, hopefully they can do it.
Is there any level 3 holsters
Seems overkill. I don’t think anyone’s making one for the HCP
Where is your belt from?
Currently I’m using a Kore belt and got rid of all my others
I want this holster, but 7-9 weeks!
It’s worth the wait. Also that’s an estimate and there’s a chance it could be less depending on what options you go with
Any one know if this holster will fit with a flash light? like a TLR-7 or any other?
When you order them you have a set of options to pick from for lights. Head over and take a look 👍🏻
Why can't I find this holster on their website
The Talon is there but I think recently they removed the option for the fabric wrap.
Where’s the coupon code for this holster
In the description, right after the link to their site. 360TS
I ended up purchasing the talon after seeing this video February 3rd to replace my cya holster. February 26 I went back to the website to check on my order. While there I noticed they now have the fabric wrap on every color not just the black holster. I email them February 26 asking if I could change from black to blood red if my order has not been completed yet if it has been completed already I am fine with the black I purchased. No reply back. March 8th I sent a follow up. Today is March 10 and I still haven't received a simple yes or no reply, I doubt I'll ever get a reply. Good luck for anyone that ever needs to contact McKinaTec.
Keep in mind that it is a one man shop and recently had a major surge in orders. You could perhaps try their Instagram.
@@360TacticalSolutions they got back to same day I commented here that my holster was finished and would be sent out next day. I have received it and really like it. Much better than my cya holster I rushed to get to carry my hellcat pro. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to seeing your vid on the dpm recoil reduction for the hellcat pro. Seen a few for other guns so have a general idea of outcome but not the hellcat pro besides your short. Also wondering if you do a lot of dry firing with the hellcat pro? I just purchased the mantis X10 and some snap caps. Seen a few hellcats and pro striker breaking, was wondering if it's worth the M Carbo titanium striker upgrade.
@@210s0uthstar I dry fire daily and I do use some snap caps for that. I can't really say if the M carbo is worth it. Im considering ordering it but only because people keep commenting about it and im tired of hearing about it lol. Ive never had an issue with the HCP its a solid gun. If I had an issue, some sort of failure then id be all over that upgrade but right now im like eh do I really need it. Glad your holster came it btw. McKinatec makes great stuff but he's a one man shop so you just gotta be prepared for the wait. Worth every moment
@@360TacticalSolutions I love the hellcat pro was deciding between it and p365xl a few months ago and after your review I decided on the hellcat pro. I honestly think the M Carbo is overkill and probably unnecessary. I bought the talon slimline, showed it to a friend at work the other day and he's ordering one for his hellcat now.
More like 180 tactical.. Why don't you have a weapon light?

Does anybody every worry of getting a scratched red dot when conceal carrying? This doesn’t look like it protect the glass very much.

@@crimsonclover1588 I checked in and it looks like what you are trying to order is one of the premade items that come up from time to time.
