Toothbrush says 3.7 volts?n if you plug it into computer is charges at 5 volts. Won't that damage toothbrush?

I know that I'm replying to an old comment here, but what the heck, others might read it too.
The Li-Ion battery has a nominal rating of 3.7v (looks like a common 18650 cell), but when fully charged will be around 4.2v. These batteries require protection and step-down circuits in order for them to charge and be used without discharging too far, so the input voltage will be the standard USB 5v, but internally that will be stepped down to 4.2v, and the battery will cut out if it drops to about 3.2v to prevent any damage to the cell.
