Love this stuff man. In our last house we didn't have a dinning room table, but since moving into our house about two years ago we've eaten so much more together at the table. We find it is a great time to connect with each other. The conversations aren't always amazing, but the consistency gives us more of a chance to connect that we would otherwise miss.
100% accurate , last time I had a family dinner was about 14 years ago I’m 19 now turning 20, and I’ve developed low self esteem, no confidence in public , I was in and out of jail a lot , I was hanging around the wrong crowd , I just started changing my life around about 3 years ago im a whole different person thanks to the programs I went thru , I still don’t have family dinners that’s just how my family have adjusted but the day I have my own I’ll definitely make sure to sit down with them if it’s even just for a snack .
We eat breakfast and dinner together every single day. That is my wife and I and our three children (9, 8 and 2). Smartphones are strictly taboo at the table. Everyone gets a turn to speak, tell stories, jokes, anecdotes and events of the day. On Sunday I prepared a gulyás (goulash) for the folloiwing day. My son peeled and chopped the potatoes and carrots, my daughter chopped the peppers. All good stuff, couldn't imagine living any other way.
In my family eating together is nonsense. I'm a 13 year old autistic young boy and we usually eat alone and it never affects any of us. We just eat like normal people and I watch a video while eating also so I dont develop anxiety cause if I try to make myself cut the cord then I will go crazy so its important to eat independently.
I loved this video! I grew up in a household that was like that dads with the kids grabbing their stuff and going their separate ways; in my family it was like everyone for themselves. I hated it. I am almost 54 now, never married no kids (its been a hard life, long story), I am living with my sister and brother in law while I take care of a health issue, they have carried over many of those same bad habits; my sisters dining table is an extra storage closet, everyone makes their own food and eats in the living room watching tv. That is not family mealtime!! I vowed to myself recently that if I ever do marry and have a family of my own -- even if it is late in life -- I am going to make sure we do things right. 😎😍 Btw, do you suppose the lack of good family meal togetherness now, could be pinpointed as one possible reason why the world is in the state it is in today?!
+Scottscage hi, glad you enjoyed the video. As to your question to could the lack of family dinners be the reason the world is the way it is these days... I think it is one factor of many. I do think we would all be better off if we had more family dinners.
Man it's not easy as it sounds I've tried it never liked it I hated it even if I'm doing it by force my parents always convince me to eat with them I still don't understand it why were supposed to eat together im not comfortable I like to eat alone it's just me I have anixty problem that I avoid attention as much as i can thanks for the info but still I'd eat alone
What are the ways you can eat more family dinners together?

Thanks for this. We are going to implement this in our family.

+ConqueringCaffeine love it!
Love this! Do you think the benefits continue even when your children are now young adults?
Different stage in our parenting for sure but yes there are huge benefits.
Thank you! I’m writing a thesis on this🥳😁
Love to read your thesis when you are finished.

Forcing your kids into this causes more harm than good, I personally hate eating with people + the study are unfounded and complete bs
