Surf music was coming out of classica / flamenco style roots so you really aren't wrong. With the Telecaster thump it was definitely an homage to surf music.
I’m enjoying watching ya’lls reactions to Sierra! Did you see she recently won Artist of the Year and Album of the Year at the Americana Awards??? 🥰 I’m so happy for her. She spent years busking as a homeless addict. She almost died more than once. She got clean and just blossomed!!! She has an incredibly rare gift in her talent. I got to see her in preform back in April. She is soooo good live! She’s a sweetheart and has the best energy. You need to make the trip.
Her voice is gorgeous! This is a sweet band with the tight harmonies. This was very pleasant to my ears and I enjoyed the different sound. It’s not Americana, but it might be comparable in the Spanish vibe that I also heard. I liked the consultation on the single bend. So if the note on the second string is bent to sound like the first, does it give a sensation of a harmony? I’ll have to listen again. They are crazy performing in that really cold weather. It really does a number on the tuning of instruments. But they seemed to enjoy performing for the audience! Thanks, Joel, for a really nice choice for today. Have a good rest of the weekend!! 🎶 Cyd
Im still berating you guys to react to SLIFT - 'Ilion' (Live on KEXP) You look like metal heads to me and if you are will love it...but even if you're not you'll still appreciate it as musicians. SLIFT SLIFT SLIFT...Freebie Friday

Very impressive performance in the cold and snow.
Steamboat CO in March...Olympic Valley (Tahoe) in April. She performed at both. Dumped snow at both.
If you like Sierra, I'll also suggest Kimmi Bitter. The live version of "I Can't Unlove You" from QSC is probably the best place to start.
This could be the opening song to one of Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns.
I want to say this genre is Mexacali...but I won't 😁
