    Hi guys, just to clarify: The 2021 Acura TLX Type S has a *single*, twin-scroll turbocharger - it is not a twin-turbo V6 (just a single turbo). We apologize for any confusion!

    • @HerrPoopschitz
      @HerrPoopschitz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You sure about this guys? Will the turbo be mounted within the ‘v’? If traditional-flow heads, theres no way by an emissions or performance standpoint the V6 will only have one turbo.

    • @HerrPoopschitz

      Tom Bley Thanks for the link, but a patent is not proof of production. In an age where the ex manifolds are effectively being cast into the head to reduce waste energy Im skeptical of an arrangement that I could build in my garage w/ some chinese stainless steel.

    I like that they have buttons. But the gear selector should be a lever. The drive mode dial is way bigger than it needs to be. For most people that dial would be better as a volume knob for the stereo system.

I'll take that trade off and definitely prefer it to the previous generation interior.

    In the old days only cheap cars have less buttons, less buttons and cleaner look do not mean luxury, it is just a different design language, and car manufactures can cut production cost from it. Maybe less buttons have less malfunctions, however, I have never experienced a died button issue on my carsss.

    I like the new look, it's sleek and ultra sporty. Really well planted stance. Been a long time coming really.
    Physical button/knobs/switches in the dash area is a good thing. The interior shouts it's sporting intention with luxury features in 2nd.
    For sure some the the design themes and maybe a few mechanical bits from this car will be passed onto 2022 Honda Civic/Civic Type-R ( camouflage doing the rounds ).

    The question you asked is what I thought about when I watched the Acura launch video, why not electrify it? If it's not going to be offered in standard shift, why not electrify it? I'm not a fan of the paddle shifters on an automatic transmission! In my mind, the Type S should be manual transmission! But still a better look for the TLX. I've had a hard time accepting the TL replacement in recent years. Seems like that's about to change!

    I think I know why Acura skipped on electrifying the TLX. It looks like Acura has seen the Street Speed 717 video on the NSX, where he concluded that one big reason for the NSX being a flop is that nobody perceives a hybrid powertrain as ideal for a sports car.

    Ever since the rumors came out about this car I've been waiting for it.
    The Acura does not disappoint. Now I just need to wait a little longer. I'm going to chop the roof off, elongate this front doors and turn this into a two-door convertible.
    Also you guys compared this car set a Tesla model 3.personally I don't agree with that mostly because just because the model 3 is a compact sedan doesn't mean it directly compete with other compacts and mids. The other thing is you can never really truly replace the fun of a machine. Just my opinion.
