She was simply THE BEST! I am 57 years old and I have been listening to Kitty Wells recordings all of my life and I never get tired of them. I enjoy them just as much as I did when just a boy back in the mid 50s. We hear the term "legend" and "pioneer" tacked on to lots of artists, but Kitty TRULY earned and deserves the title. If anyone should get to wear the crown as "Queen of Country Music" it should be Kitty hands down! MoJoPiano
Kitty Wells was my mother's favorite country western star. She had her records and albums and would play them as she ironed her clothes with a cigarette dangling from her mouth singing in between puffs and chugging shots of Beam and downing cans of Hamm's Beer. It was a great show when I was a kid and I still love the music and the memories of Kitty Wells.
To day is truly a sad day for those who love country music. Today the true Queen of Country Music died. I grew up listening to Kitty Wells sing, she was my mother's favorite and rightly so. Who could not love to hear her sing. I'm glad that we'll all have her music to remember her by. RIP Kitty.
My girlfriend was always listening to her and Hank Sr. May the Lady of Country sing this in heaven for you my dear friend Kathleen! RIP Miss Kitty and I miss you Kat!
Im 21 and I love this lady. Kitty is one of my favorites. She is a very talented lady. I wish we could have more artists like her. She is beautiful. I like her hair to.
I love this 1950's music, just love it, and Kitty Wells was the best. It was so raw and simple, the modern stuff just doesn't have the same appeal, too slushy... for me anyway...
I wish my dad was still alive to see his favorites on you tube. He used to spend hours at Woolworth's 5 and 10 looking through used 45 RPM's that had been played in jukeboxes.
Kitty Wells was, remains, and will always be the First Lady of Country Music. Kitty delivers an absolutely great performance in this "TH-cam" video. The great performers are the ones who effortlessly connect the lyrics of their songs to and with their audience. Kitty Wells is Number One with roadwarrior3
I love her so much!! I'm 20 years-old boy from Thailand. This is real music. I've just read her biography in detail and found that how great she was. She was the one who broke down a barrier for female country singers!! I just admire and respect her about that. Her legacy will live forever...
She was and still is the greatest!! I thank you the Queen of Country Music for paving the way for all female country singers. Legend! I'm 20 years old and I love her.
Imagine..........a time when Country Ladies could sing simple songs filled with raw emotion and still be commercially viable!!! Wake up Gaylord and Opry!!! Dear God I miss this type of country music!!! I'm fed up with the trash they throw at us on the radio's today!! Kitty Wells is the one true Queen and I've loved her music since my childhood in the sixties!! Great song by a great lady!!
I've never been a big country fan , but lately i've discovered hank snow and kitty wells . well, ya'll can keep the rest ,but those two got it going , for real.

Like many before me, I'm struck by the beauty of this great lady singer and the fantastic condition of the video. Kitty would have been 30 in 1949 and she doesn't look 30. She and my Dad will turn 90 a week apart the end of August. I've always loved her but now that I have watched this I'm madly in love. My wife of 48 years would understand. Glenn

The older I get, the more I appreciate this type of music, raw and real.
From the heart and soul. What I admire most is the authenticity. Just a block of wood with some strings and a voice. Nothing else.

Nice one! Thanks for the post! Classic gem, and better sound than another I watched of yours.
Her voice is so simple and down to earth that it's easy to overlook just how pretty she was. She sort of looks like Vivien Leigh here.
