I remember a game breaking bug I had with the 3DS version of this game. After you fight Black Mask, you'll have to leave the boss room only to get into the other room. When trying to leave the other room via the door, the game will continuously load, breaking my save file. Even reloading the save file doesn't fix anything, I had to start all over because of it
I remember getting this as a Christmas present and being really hyped to play it. Idk if it was just me but it took me almost like a year to figure out how to progress the story since the objectives weren't really explained.

Fun fact: I had this game and was playing on the lowest difficulty. I eventually got to penguin and when I spawned in, everyone in the room knew where I was and was instantly killed.
The Penguin boss is actually not really that complicated bud. You take out a dude with the backpack, enemies go to your location, while they’re distracted you get the jump on Penguin and then rinse and repeat
I liked the small things this game did: The twist with Catwoman, the Beware the Batman costume, and finally making Penguin & Black Mask legitimate threats. It really makes me wish we just got more of it with the Origin games actually being made.
Hope you know that your annoyed and angry delivery is still just as entertaining as when you're gushing and talking about good stuff in games. Never played this one but your explanation about the missing thrust in attacks was so well done that I just immediately understood how frustrating that would be to endure. Keep up the good work!
In all the Arkham games I like the concept of Detective Vision but as you said most of the time I found my self just leaving it on as everything is much easier found and it takes away some of the challenge / fun of figuring it out yourself ..
This was actually the first Arkham game that I played, but it’s been so long that I forgot all about it. Once I started playing the real Arkham games, this one just slipped from my mind.

I've been playing the Deluxe version of this game. It's not great, but I've been enjoying it for two reasons: That Beware the Batman skin that actually has a gameplay bonus and the fact that I can choose to fight Black Mask last after he was cheated out of being the main villain by Joker in Arkham Origins.
I actually really enjoyed/enjoy playing this game on my 3DS XL, partially because I liked the fact that this is a Batman Arkham game on the 3DS that I can play anywhere and take with me on the go!
This was actually the first Arkham game that I've ever played, and to be honest, it's not as bad as it seems to be. Pretty decent story and combat system for what it's worth. The only thing I didn't like was the cutscenes using a comic-like style to convey the story, though it's quite artistic. I also loved the suits giving you special abilities for unlocking them. The boss battles were also pretty decent, with Penguin's being the most difficult (which made me rage quite a bit). So yeah, it isn't that good but it also isn't bad. You get what you pay for

I'd say its worth playing if you really love metroidvanias, I liked that aspect of it even with all its problems. I thought it would be only okay but I ended up really enjoying it due to my love of the scenario of Arkham games and metroidvanias in general even if it has laborious backtracking for 100%ing.

Actualy there is two, Origins Blackgate and Arkham VR who take place just before Arkham Knight ! And btw there is the movie Assault on Arkham who take place between Origins and Asylum too !

I know there's not much happening in that short title and it's available only for VR, but it does make a nice connection between Arkham City and Arkham Knight and everything in the game suggest it is a part of the series (although not a part that many people would play or know about).

I think the strangest part is this game isn't even canon to the Arkham universe, with multiple contradictions including Solomon Grundy being in the sewers under Blackgate rather than Rā's al Ghūl's lab and Joker breaking out of his Blackgate cell when the Arkham Knight game states in a city story the first time he escaped after the events of Arkham Origins he was in Arkham Asylum.

I personally haven’t played this but I think it’s an interesting take on a Arkham game that’s on handheld. People have said it’s just Arkham Origins ported which isn’t actually the case because different bosses and different story and places and different time sometime after origins. This game isn’t perfect but people hate it because it’s called an Arkham game. It is set in the Arkham verse and it is Arkham canon but it doesn’t play like normal Arkham games well kinda.
I figured this was Blackgate and now, I'm glad to know I didn't miss out on too much having never played it. Thank you. Honestly I think the main thing out of watching this that I appreciated was how the Cryptographic Sequencer works compared to the other games.

I love the concept of a 2nd person sniper boss fight; that is just pure genius.
Spiderman Shattered Dimensions did it as well, and that was in the Wii
AC Revelations did it as well in an early segment. It was... alright.
