- How to use a Stippling Brush
The brush I am using in this Demonstration is a Stippling Brush
Its also known as a Duo Fiber Brush
It does Not Matter where you get your brush from they are all the same
The purpose of using a Stippling motion is to achieve a full coverage or opaque coverage that means that your foundation will not have any Transparency your skin is completely covered
It gives an illusion that the skin is airbrushed because believe it or not Stippling is a lot like Airbrushing Foundation
To start pour a little foundation out on a flat surface or in a small container like a petri dish
Next take your Stippling Brush and get just dab the tips of the White Hairs with Foundation
Now your ready to Stipple....
Take the brush to your face and kind of do a dabbing motion leaving behind little dots of foundation do this over and over again until your face is covered!
*When your done set with powder using powder foundation will give Will a Flawless Finish!
Think of these little dots as pixels and the more pixels you have the more coverage you have or if we were speaking about a pictures we would say the more pixels you have the higher the resolution or clearer more vibrant picture!
Applying foundation like this is great for the coverage of scars, moderate to severe acne,and skin discolorations!
As I said in this video you can go back and buff it out you will still get Amazing Coverage!However this is not stippling!
So if you like the idea of this lesser coverage using the buffing method I showed at the end of my video....
*You can achieve the same results from applying and buffing your foundation with a Fluffy Blush Brush!!!!!

@Bellaahah its nice for personal use I perfer that one at home but I use my big stippling brushes to do clients and its alot faster to use the large one! I will use the smaller stippling brush (188) to get around the nose and chin if there is heavy scarring!
What brush did you use? I would really like to use this method,but I have no idea what to get. There are different sizes in the stippling brushes. Thank you so much for this, I am excited to try this.

i'm glad ur back! what do you think is the best stippling brush? i've been using the sigma one for a while now, but i don't really like it, it's not dense enough and it sheds like crazy :( i'm thinking about buying the mac one, but it's soo expensive! do you know a good alternative? thanks :) xx
Since I discovered this kind of make up application I never wanted an sponge again! And if I use my hands is only when my brush is too dirty and I am on a hurry. Excellent explication, as simple as that!
You look so pretty...glad you are back up! Q: Have you used Sephora's #55 Platinum Air brush for applying foundation? I've heard a lot of good things about it! I want to buy a brush for foundation but get soo discombobulated looking at all the options! I've always just used my fingers!

I always come back to stippling with my 187 since I have oily skin with large pores that is acne prone and I love this method. I just pour the foundation on the back of my hand and dip my brush in.

I have that brush and I love it ,I use it for two things one for foundation and second as a blending blush brush , it is amazing.

@lindseythelush its not incorrectly you can use a brush for whatever you want! Next time you wash that brush use some conditioner and let it sit for a minute rinse it out completely let it dry and rub it lightly back and forth on a towel and get the loose hairs that are left out you only have to do this 2 or 3 more times and the shed will stop!
hey Camille! this might be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. Do you stipple on the foundation primer also, or does that not matter? I use Porefessional by Benefit so that is what I mean by primer. Thanks! xoxo Michele

i really do not understand stipple brushes! i recently got one, and is the idea to have little dots all over your face? cos that seems weird and i really don't understand:L don't know if I am just being stupid, but what do you do?

@ErikaaaAmerikaaa I have a few MAC stippling brushes and they had fall out for years but they are very dense! I cant make out any info on my other stippling brushes! but I will say try Crown brushes or ELF!

i do both. I stipple and than go back a blend it and it has amazing coverage.
Hey, question so I use powder foundation and i put on my concealer on first do you think thats ok? and I use maybeline mineral power powder oh and I've only been doing make for about 11 months so I'm still learning and would your advise.

@TheBrunetteswin I used a MAC 187 I like the 187 for working on clients but I prefer the smaller one for myself alot! You can get a stippling Brush from ELF Sigma Coastal Scents BHCosmetics Celia Makeup on Ebay!

Hiya i think your videos are really good. You should teach students. I wanted to ask you a question, i am doing a Bridal course as i want to do hair and make up for brides, after completing the course do you think i will be able to work in a Mac store, or is there anything else i can do with make up as i love it? I want a change in my career i work as teacher. The thing that is worrying me is that i know there are so many make up artist, how will i fit in? how do i know I will be successfull?

@carrierossman I have a video showing different methods of application! but I have not tried the sephora brush you mentioned but I will check it out! You can get your brushes from anywhere it doesnt matter you should try a cheaper priced brush first until you decide what you like! xoxoxox

@mandalinstarr I have a few MAC Stippling brushes and a few random ones I can tell the difference by the handle MAC has excellent handles, it doesn't have anything to do with the brush itself its just a different feeling! xoxoxo

mine got clumpy even tho i've washed it and swirled it through rubbing alcohol. how do i decamp it?
don't use rubbing alcohol, also what soap do you use?
