*I **_"ABSOLUTELY"_** UNDERSTAND...* What you are doing!! However, we as both *_"Studio"_* and *_"live touring" Mavens,"_* ( either as a *_"AE1's,"_*_ or as a __*_"MUSICIAN"_* ) are generally able to "snapshot" the "end sound results" (i.e., tone, timbre, clean, distorted... etc.) in our "portable computer,' ya know, the one w/'two ears,' 'two eyes' and 'freewill," on-board, our brain, many cannot!! HOWEVER, don't you think if you were too snapshot, not only the "technical parameters" ("pitch," in "20 cents" or 'semitones,') the "effects" in 'milli'/'micro' "secs," "compression," ('hard'/''soft,' "knee" settings) "gating," ('attack,' 'release...') as those "parameters" are "monumental," ya know, with "respect" to time needed in achieving the best of those settings, as found through "experimenting." And of course, the list of "technical needs" related to "creating," can be painstakingly long, so taking those snapshots, and storing them is paramount to success!!
Nowwww, I also "associate," or "reference" the "final product," (sound) into a "sub-folder," while separating each, "finished product," into "Left" & "Right" chs. (stereo pan,) drag each waveform into the same exact start time (think "SMPTE" sans video,)
AS A TRUE "A" / "B" platform, so when you play that sound bite, both the "original" (panned left) and the "newest" change, from the original (panned right,) will start at the same time, allowing for a "true" comparison of "both sounds" where "hopscotching" between each sound, gives you a very real time idea of them.
Orrrrrr, if you want (I have done this on occasion,) return the original sound into a vacant channel on the console (even if "A PURE DAW" is your mixer) and the new changed sound into a separate vacant channel, as to preserve a stereo environment for each, the original and the most recent sound changes. Then, you can play both in real time, and by simply muting the original sound channel fader, while unmuting the new sound channel fader, you'll be able to really hear those changes!! Because playing them separately, and in the time it takes, albeit only a few seconds, to go back and forth between the old and the new, most will not be able to truly recall the first and compare it to the second!!! ANYWAY 😎🤘🏼

As ever an excellent video. I recently moved over from an AX8 to an FM3 (after reading and being taken in by some of the hype), but your videos show that the older Fractal models are still amazing and in real life are just as good as the newer units. The old units still rock. Thank you, have a very happy New Year and please keep the videos coming!

Thank you, means a lot. The channel is only possible because of your consistent and amazing support. Without that, I think it would not motivate me enough to continue making videos. Hope you have a great new year and thank you once again. Cheers

I wish once you create a snapshot, the original preset version was easier to access to compare the 2. The only way I see to get back to the original preset is the "Revert Preset" option or the shortcut, which will work, but if A/B ing it would be cool if they listed the original preset version in snapshot pulldown menu too to go back and forth easier.

Great point, I also find this a little tricky. The way that I solve this is that when I plan to use snapshots, the very first snapshot I usually take is of the preset itself (before making any changes). That way I always have the original preset without needing to 'Revert Preset'. Hope this helps. Cheers.

@@GurtejSinghGuitar Good idea. Also, I noticed that although the snapshots get cleared out when you disconnect from Edit, they are still saved on your PC in the Snapshots folder. They can't be loaded again as a snapshot to the original preset, but since they are .syx files, I bet they could be imported in as a new preset, but I havent tried it yet.
