  • Today I'm looking at an ultrawide monitor. However not just any ultrawide. This is probably the best deal you can get for a 40 inch 1440p 144Hz gaming monitor. Today we are looking at the INNOCN 40C1R. I seriously believe this monitor ruined other monitors for me.

Definitely looking into this one! Its now $399 on amazon! Been looking into ultrawides now for about 4 months to clean up my setup a little bit.. 4 monitors (2 32s and 2 27s) is a lot of cables to manage neatly and its a lot of power too.. Any input on how this 40" compares to a 32" 1440p monitor? Is it worth a switch? Have you reviewed their 44C1G?

I 100% agree, i had a 3 monitor setup and it just became too annoying for me (especially with the amount of wires needed) so i ended up dabbling in on Samsung G9 which has a bit of fair issues in itself but haven’t looked back since.

Why would you be messing with the power and video cables more than once?
I can understand certain situations, such as a test bench, but for the most part it's kind of a non-issue.

    • @CyberCPU

Yes, the wiring mess on my main system is embarrassingly bad. Dual monitors definitely contribute to it.

I personally use this monitor from Acer [ Acer EI342CKR 34" 2K ], its HDR compatible (not the best admittedly), but great overall. its menu has a few things that dont seem like they belong, but cool tools to use if needed and the menu functions as intended. while its 34'' and curved compared to a flat 40'', i think its still better. I got this one for just at 400 USD, and love it. its got amazing blacks and color for movies, videos, and photo editing. Not to mention that it has 2 DP 1.4 and 2HDMI 2.0 ports.

Looks like that monitor is going for $480 on Amazon now. I bought the ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B 34inch ultra wide monitor in February because I work from home and also wanted to experience gaming on an ultra wide. Didn't want to deal with a dual monitor setup. At this point, I don't think I could go back to a 16:9 monitor. It is capable of running at 165Hz but I run it at 144Hz so I can use the 10 bit color option. The color and performance is great. It is a VA panel but the ghosting isn't bad like on other VA panels I have seen.

I'm still disgusted with Amazon over an Asus VG279Q I had ordered, and they friggin "lost" during shipping. I personally think it ended up in someone's house from the truck. I ended up with a VG275Q, which isn't a bad monitor at all, but I wanted the IPS panel.
I have a 3 panel setup with two 24 inch panels on either side of a 27 inch. They're basically wallpaper displays unless I'm in photoshop, lol. I've never really been interested in ultrawide because it'd drive me insane when watching movies.
I'm planning to get a newer 40 inch TV for the bedroom so I can swipe the one in there now, and put it in my blu ray/console area in my mancave. I'm doing TV because all of my consoles use the old RCA cables, which will work with the TV's component ports. I have an RCA switcher hub so if I bought a monitor I'd have to buy an HDMI hub. Luckily the TV in the room also has a 3.5mm headphone jack so I won't be disturbing my wife with my movies. It also has a central stand instead of those jenky, cheap-ass feet most of them come with these days. It's perfect for the little office end table thing I have my other TV on.
All this is because I tried to buy a blu ray rom to watch them on my PC, but since Sony owns the rights to the blu ray format they all have DRM encoded into the discs that the rom won't play. I got a set top player that I hooked up to my primary monitor, but that became a hassle when switching over. So I decided to just separate the two areas because if I'm watching a movie chances are I won't even have the PC turned on.

@@CyberCPU - The ultimate would be using VR goggles and have an app that let you be inside a sphere monitor so wherever you look, there is more monitor. And you could move that around so what you needed to see was more in front of you.

  • @chrisbaker8533

    Go big or go home.
I like the ultra wides for gaming, or movies/t.v., but for productivity, not so much.
While the screen real estate can be comparable to my 48" and dual 20"(vertical orientation, wide format), there's just something with the aspect ratio that i can't get used to.
I also like having the side monitors at 15-20 degree angle to the main.
We all a bit different, so find what works for you and run with it.
