I can’t really say for certain just how great the adaptive transparency is BUT it feels and sounds like a huge difference from the Pro 1. Again, it might be just expectancy bias, but so far these have delivered big time.
He didn't mention this (surprisingly) but you do actually have to pinch/squeeze the stem of the AirPods for gestures, if you just tap, nothing will happen. They have force touch so you literally have to squeeze with a bit of force, and there's a little "click" feedback sound that lets you know it has registered. From my experience, changing the volume is the only thing that doesn't require a squeeze, you can just gently slide up or down. I'm surprised he didn't mention anything about the fact that you gotta squeeze, not tap, and that it actually has force touch. I was so damn impressed when I tried it out

Actually, to remove the ear tips, all you have to do is find the little slit at the base of the ear tip and use your finger nail/finger tip to lift up from there and it comes off easily!
I’ve been using gen 1 AirPods for years and thought they were fine. Got these last night and they blew my mind. The noise cancellation is really good and a little bit disorienting at first. Great headphones!
It took me a while to figure out that the stem volume control didn’t really work until I took long, swipes before and over the flat area and then above flat area and then it worked. If you just use the flat area it won’t work as well or if not at all. I have to tell you, these are worth every penny. I can’t even wait to mow the yard again using the noise cancellation. Soon I will be using them on a plane and my biggest concern is that they will fall out of my ear and I won't be able to find them. So for that reason I am considering using 2-second glue to glue a string to the 2 AirPods so they are connected, I know it's not very pretty to look at but effective. Nice video! It helped me to realize that I can use my hearing aids audiogram to adjust the AirPods audio which made a difference. Out of curiosity, I put my old AirPods Pro into the AirPods Pro 2 case to see if they would fit. They do fit. I also noticed that when I did so, the AirPods Pro 2 case made a sound like a charging enabled sound. It doesn’t make that same noise when you put the AirPods Pro 2 into the AirPods Pro 2 case, it’s almost like it’s a warning sound to remind you, Hey, you put the wrong AirPods in this case.
That's exactly what it is, like at work my coworkers and I all have AirPods so if I picked up one of theirs by mistake and put it in my case it would beep at me.
I have hearing aids and I am hoping to switch back and forth - this is my first pair of AirPods and have used my audiogram and I am testing today. I am excited!
Bro thank you for saying it’s gonna feel like you’re breaking it, but you’re not. I’ve been watching several other videos on how to replace the ear tips, and none of them said tht, so I haven’t been able to change them because I was so worried I was applying to much force and didn’t want to break them. You gave me the confidence to apply more force and I finally changed em!
Thank you for this video my man. I’m new to iPhone. My wife and I both have been Samsung galaxy note/ultra users for a long time. We both just recently switched to the IPhone 14 pro max’s. We traded in our S22 ultra’s ,buds and galaxy watch 4’s. I can say without a doubt. iPhone in my opinion is better. No comparison. The battery life on this iPhone 14pro max is insane. I could just about get 2 days off of a charge. And the series 8 watch is amazing. I could definitely get 2 days on a charge. And these Airpod pro 2’s are great. They sound so much better than my galaxy buds. I’m simply amazed. My only regret is not switching sooner. I was so annoyed with Samsung. I just couldn’t believe how my S22 ultra had a 5,000MAH battery and I wouldn’t make it through a day. Sometimes I would. But just barely.
Just ordered my AirPods Pro 2, and they will be arriving tomorrow. Looked at several introductory videos on how to use them, and most of them fall way short and skip through most of the things you really need to know. This video is dead on! When my AirPods arrive tomorrow I will re-watch this video with them in hand
Nice video! One quick question: regarding the triple press: skip back: it is skipping back to the beginning of the same song after triple press but not skipping back to the previous song. correct? Please confirm. the reason I am asking this is that by doing double press, it is skip forward, i.e., skipping to the next song. Thanks.
Do you need the lanyard for the pod’s themselves? I travel a lot and if one drops from my ear on the plane I don’t wanna be crawling around on the nasty floor. I am getting a lanyard for the case though
These touch controls is so genius. I hate other earbuds because of their touch controls, like I just wanna adjust said earbuds in my ear and suddenly the music turned off etc. The stems on Airpods are the best and I dont care if people say it look goofy, it works great and that’s what matters
They are fantastic. I had the same complaint coming from galaxy buds which would play or pause every time i adjusted them in my ear. The new airpods not only dont do that, but you can do every control with a single earbud. Seriously loving them
Also, the swiping on the stem prevents you from having to tap directly on the part that goes in your ear. Tapping at that part is very loud and clunky.
I don’t know why some people are going crazy for these 2nd gen pro. First of all, adaptive transparency is EXACTLY the same as gen 1 transparency. There is absolutely no difference. I measured loud noise using Apple Watch decibel levels with and without adaptive mode on. It’s shockingly, the same. Secondly, ANC is no where even close to 2x. I believe it’s somewhat better by about 20% as compared to Gen 1 AirPods Pro. Even the sound quality and all is just about 20% better. Not any major difference. So choose wisely before you go all out for this purchase. I think most reviewers are getting too biased and exaggerating Gen 2 pro just too much.
I just bought my airpods pro 2nd gen, and there is 6months free of apple music. What if i redeem this on apple music and what comes after 6months? Is it i have to pay for the next month or just automatically stopped? Tq in advance.
This may seem like a weird request but could you try putting the XS eartips on the Airpod Pro 1's, or see if the new tips are compatible with the 1st version pros?
Hey Brandon, after watching your video, I realized something I have tinnitus which is a constant ringing buzzing in my ears. What setting should I set these AirPods Pro to?
You have explained the usage of these air pods (better) than anybody else, and you taught me more especially about the spot on the back, which I had no idea about. Thank you for your awareness of these issues novice like me tend to experience.
How did you get your Spotify songs to play in Dolby Atmos?! I’ve tried everything and watched every video I can find but still can’t figure it out. Even played the same song. Thanks!
is there an app that gives you all of the settings and paramters that is easy to get to. Im finding having to jump from different settings locations is a real pain.
The Personalized Spatial Audio is a pain to set up as of now. It scans my ear but doesn’t progress any further. Like, it shows the little green bars progressing but then it just stops. For some reason, it works on my brother’s phone but not on mine? We have the same phone (iPhone 14)
Question... I have an iPad that I can use for settings and location stuff, but I have an Android phone & and Windows laptop... will some/all of the settings stay the same while I use the airpods on the other devices?
from experience and it also works on 2nd gen as I just switched them over is Comply Foam tips. provides comfort, no movement at all as some say the regular tips can get slippery from moisture and move during exercise and imo better seal also because the foam adapts to your ear shape. Can get them on their site or amazon and can buy specific sizes depending on your regular tip size. Literally took them from my gen 1 to gen 2 so it still fits on the new models
You dont tap but press. Have one of ur airpods in ur ear and place ur thumb on the back of the stem and ur index on the front where u can control the volume. After just press firmly on the stem to pause, press firmly twice to move forward/next, press firmly three times to go back to the beginning, amd last press and hold firmly to toggle betweem the 3 modes(noise cancellation then tranparency) youll know when youre in noise cancellation mode when it make a deep ping sound? Idk lol and fr tranperancy it will make a high ping sound but the other ones will make like a button sound. Hope this help if u havent figured it out already!
I just got mine couple days ago. I found your video quite useful as this is my first Apple Earpiece collection. However, I am facing challenges with the microphone part. The other party said they can't hear me well, like as if I sounded muffled. Not what I expected from an Apple product (also one of the reasons why I got an AirPod Pro 2 in the first place, is for better microphone). Are there any users experiencing the same issue as me? I also have trouble with handling the earpiece. Let's say I am taking to someone with my AirPod Pro 2, and the other party can't hear me well, so I attempt to change the source setting from AirPod Pro to Phone, then take the AirPod Pro 2 earpiece from my ear. When I take the AirPod 2 out of my ear, it disconnects the call... If you have any advice on how to handle the AirPod Pro 2 during a call, that would be super helpful!

I’m your opinion do u like the silicon tips on the pros or no tips on the other AirPods?
I cant skip, pause and rewind the songs from spotify, how to change the settings for that? Thank you
in transparency mode it makes the world seem like ASMR lol But these are great!! Love them!
It's been like this since the windows mobile era. 15 years later, nothing changed. Samsung phones are as buggy as ever.
Worth upgrading from the Pro 1st gen?
Ordered mine yesterday and I can’t help it but watching these videos ! I’m so exited for all the new features and I’m coming from AirPods Pro 1st gen
Thanks.
Just picked up a pair $170 on sale!
#1: afford them
Done ✔️
Got them on clearance for 200 bucks! I have used my gen 1 airpods for about 5 years
Same, got it for 200€ instead of 280 now I just hope that when I receive them they’re authentic lol
Save up for it
Got it just below $40 on eBay (unopened)
Love the new Pros. I was most looking forward to these out of the entire Keynote.
Thanks for sharing. I have not picked up a pair. Blessings on your day 👍🏻
Do you need the lanyard for the pod’s themselves?
Just bought my 1st ever Airpod Pro 2 minutes ago and the noise cancelation the moment i put this bad bois in my ears is outstanding!
Thanks for saving me $250. I’ll get them next year, my gen 1s are completely fine
20%, did you measure this?
The chip takes care of everything like that 250x faster than previous gen
I just bought my airpods pro 2nd gen, and there is 6months free of apple music. What if i redeem this on apple music and what comes after 6months? Is it i have to pay for the next month or just automatically stopped? Tq in advance.
I haven’t had AirPods before, let alone any in-ear headphones, and my pair of the new pros should be arriving later today. 🎉
Can AirPods Pro have just a notification sound instead of announcement? Just got them, 1st timer here.
If I do pick those up I’m probably never gonna try those features on the earbuds because I’m always controlling the music with my watch or using Siri
Does transparency mode Airpods Pro 2nd generation work with an iPhone off? The 1 generation used to. Thanks.
Mine are landing on Monday. I’m excited, I’ve been tired of carrying the big Sony XM3 headset around
I don’t have all the setting features for my AirPods 2 that you have, I updated to iOS 16, maybe because I have the iPhone 13 and not the iPhone 14?
How did you get your Spotify songs to play in Dolby Atmos?! I’ve tried everything and watched every video I can find but still can’t figure it out. Even played the same song. Thanks!
is there an app that gives you all of the settings and paramters that is easy to get to. Im finding having to jump from different settings locations is a real pain.
I hate the gestures. Any options for deactivating sensors?
The Personalized Spatial Audio is a pain to set up as of now. It scans my ear but doesn’t progress any further. Like, it shows the little green bars progressing but then it just stops.
For some reason, it works on my brother’s phone but not on mine? We have the same phone (iPhone 14)
Question... I have an iPad that I can use for settings and location stuff, but I have an Android phone & and Windows laptop... will some/all of the settings stay the same while I use the airpods on the other devices?
@brandon butch. What 3rd party eat tips would you recommend for the new air pods pro 2nd generation?
from experience and it also works on 2nd gen as I just switched them over is Comply Foam tips. provides comfort, no movement at all as some say the regular tips can get slippery from moisture and move during exercise and imo better seal also because the foam adapts to your ear shape. Can get them on their site or amazon and can buy specific sizes depending on your regular tip size. Literally took them from my gen 1 to gen 2 so it still fits on the new models
hay, I am having a problem regarding the tap and double tap in AirPods pro 2. it doesn't make the sound but it works while increasing the sound.
Is volume swipe only for the 13 or higher because I don’t see it
Can touch gestures be disabled entirely?
Hi. I got the exact same problem, it even happened w my 1st gen Airpods. Still can’t get a hang of it tho. I just got my airpods pro 2 today
Watched your video on the XR multiple times before and after I got mine delivered. Very excited to check this out more when my AirPods are delivered tomorrow! Thank you for making such informative videos!
great vid thanks! was considereing getting them but didn't like some of the restrictions (eg. noice cancellation requires beth to be in) and now that I know those are changed I'm 100% buying em
Fantastic 👏 👏 👏
Do you have the sound check in your music settings turned on? Just curious lol
