When I saw your garden area considered Chaos Gardening I just immediately thought it just simply looks Natural. Maybe Chaos Gardening is just a fancy new term someone thought up recently? All your gardens look beautiful either way.
I love the more natural look. I think there is a place for several ways of gardening. My gardens are probably considered Messy and ever changing. Being at the tail end of ptsd for the past six years, I have slacked a lot on even doing anything. So mine is a slow process to bringing it back to weedless.
    Thanks for sharing!

Good to know. I guess I'm a bit of a tidy and chaos gardener as well. I mostly plant intentionally, but I also allow my blanket flowers, rudbeckia, alliums, lettuce, sunflowers, and a few other things self seed.

Our radishes bolted early and I love it! I've since sowed radishes in planters. Am I prepared to let them drop seed in the walkway? Probably not. They grow up too tall. Maybe something low growing like alyssum. I'm curious. What would your front yard look like if you let that yellow calendula grow in between all the other plants? I think I saw another TH-camr who uses sedge in place of mulch.

That is an interesting idea! I love Calendula, but I only water the front beds once every 2 weeks. If I see any that can survive that and flower, I would probably leave them!

Chaos gardening? I call this cottage gardening- and doing it smart so that each plant improves the next leads to better health and beauty.

Ha! “Chaos Gardening” is a term? 🤣🤣 Chaos is when you lose total control….like, severe illness with inability to mow or weed. Things get VERY interesting then. Weeds? Nah, they now identify as “native wildflowers” on my ppty. If you’re referring merely to self-seeding flowers - this can be utterly charming as in a cottage garden. Personally, I enjoy when my garden brings me surprises and changes every year. Enjoy yourself out there! ❤

Your videos have been a favorite garden resource for me. I live your balance of attractive landscaping with sustainable food forest and chaos gardening. It’s a balance I’m striving for. And as much as I enjoy you videos that flag leaves me feeling 💔. It reminds me how we have allowed ourselves to be divided. I pray for our country. 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸

What was the flag? I didn't see couldn't tell what it was.

I am sorry the flag left you feeling divided. I I fly it for my beautiful gay daughter and all my beautiful LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors. I need them to know I am not ashamed of them, and I am here for them no matter what. It's one of the few times I can publicly let them know I see them, especially my daughter.
My daughter was so afraid that I would reject her that she kept that part of herself hidden from me until my mom died in a car accident. She was traumatized, thinking that I could possibly die and not know the real her. I let her know every day that I love her and accept her for who she is, but this is the month that I can show her that I am not publicly ashamed of her.
There are so many people in the LGBTQ+ community who get thrown out of, or rejected by, the communities that they love, or who are told that they could be loved as long as they hide who they really are. I don't want any of my friends or loved ones to feel that about me. They will not be rejected or turned away from my home for being who they are. I hope this helps you understand why I personally fly the Pride flag for the entire month of June.

@@gardenwiseadventures good for you! My nephew had a pride flag in front of his house in our small rural town. I was so afraid of redneck retaliation lol Apparently someone eventually stole it. Maybe they wanted to fly it at their house 😊😊 As far as it being divisive, for any thought that exists there is someone who has an equal and opposing thought. I'm not personally a flag waving American but if other people are more power to them. Fly and let fly. 🌈🌈🌈

I assumed you flew it with good intentions. You seem to be a warm hearted person. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a flag that represented everyone and showed we were in this together?

@@intrinsic6696 I love the idea of being in it all together! That is something we can all agree upon!
That and that gardening is always the answer 😁!
