I rarely comment but i just have to say these kind of videos are genius. It's the kind of content we need because of its usefulness and practicality. Thank you so much. Gave me great gardening ideas. love it and its brilliant...really appreciate it.
It's always a joy to watch your videos! Your enthusiasm and love for plants has inspired me to learn more and hopefully transform my yard into the envy of the neighborhood.
Love that you are featuring all the great colors of evergreens! 9 months out of the year that is what i am looking at. This video was AMAZING. Thank you!
Brilliant as always. I guess there must be a different attitude where you are to Scotland because in the U.K. a lot of people seem to think evergreens are dull and don’t go for them, I think they are brilliant and gardening with a cheerful looking landscape for winter was what kicked off my interest in gardening. You might be a log way away but I find your videos so helpful! I wish I could come and buy all your plants hehe.
Wow, that's amazing! Thanks for tuning in! I am partial to evergreens, so I definitely make a lot of content on them. There are many other gardeners in the area that focus more on annuals and perennials. I think the most beautiful landscapes have a little bit of everything. 🙂
I love evergreens 👍🏻I am a Southern Transplant originally from Glasgow. I have an area about a 180ft long by 40 ft at the back of my yard. I staggered Green Giants and Cryptomerias as well as Carolina Sapphires can't wait to see them fill in.
Looks like a fabulous garden centre ….. love the videos! Thanks for all the great ideas and super info. Watching from Ireland - keep the videos coming, love them 😊
🌲🌲🌲 Yes, color items bring on cheer, but evergreens deliver on richness & the “ahhhhh” of one’s mind. I love them. Plus their fragrance & how they clean the air can’t be beat.
That was SO fun!!! I am definitely a plant person; been one for the last 45 years and still growing strong. Just subscribed because I absolutely LOVED your shrub combos - just gorgeous and easy for a novice gardener to understand too.
I love the fact that you're talking directly about these plant pairings. So many videos just highlight the bush, but not talk about the practical layout. Thanks for including some shade shrubs. My front of my house is north facing and the last owners put in a bunch of sun loving plants that we've had to relocate. Any other shade recommendations? I'm in Atlanta, GA. Thanks!
I am trying to decide which video of yours is my favorite. This one… the conifer video… or Bruces’s garden tour. Bruce’s was pretty awesome!!! But the other two mentioned were so informative… I took screen shots through the whole video!!!! I sure wish I lived closer to your greenhouse. Keep the videos coming!!!!
Hi thanks to you I became a plant person , I bought heaven scent Gardenia , Azalea 🌺 blush pink Nandina, obsession N, Ever red mini loropetalum, compact Japanese holly 🤗 thank you from Durham North Carolina
Videos like this are soooo helpful- had to take a road trip yesterday and come see your nursery! Appreciate all the planting suggestions and encouragement for my shedding white pine! Justin and Al were great. Your plants look really healthy and full! Definitely worth the hour drive and I’ll do it again 😊 Please keep the videos coming 👍
Have the pugster blue butterfly bush, four of them, and can attest to its beauty and prolific blooming. I loved the bowling ball arborvitae and the cryptomeria. The combinations are lovely. I have the Florida sunshine and they do send off shoots that should be trimmed, but it is a wonderful, seemingly deer proof bush. Stays its gorgeous color all winter. Thanks for all the wonderful choices.
Best video, love all the combinations. You give me lots of planting ideas, I wish I lived closer to your nursery .. or better yet wish your nursery was in my location.
I'm always intrigued every time I watch how informational you are. Always Amazing watching and learning all about these wonderful plants. I continue to search which ones I want, so hard to choose, want them all!!
Great combinations! I actually have all of these shrubs in my yard except Flirt Nandina. I just planted several Mini Jazz Hands loropetalum in front of some Fire Chief arborvitae, which are backed by some Soft Caress Mahonia. I love the combinations. I'm in 8b Tallahasse, and with the heat and dryness this summer, I had to watch all of my arborvitae carefully. They are not good at telling you when they are dry!
Hi Justin. Great content! We all can use helpful tips on planting combos. I have a mixture of evergreens w perennials to make it look more interesting. Ppl stop to compliment my garden all the time.
Great video, I love the candy corn bush and the blue butterfly bush. And they are both in my zone 6B 7A. Tha k you for sharing all of these beautiful shurbs ❤❤❤
Loved not only the combos but more loved the explanation of layout and placement. That was so helpful and would love to see more composition of plants in addition to combos. Thank you

My wife and I stumbled upon your page this past weekend and fell in love! Loved your passion, excitement, and knowledge. Opened our eyes to a world we thought we knew. Just left my local nursery with Haul of plants inspired by your videos. Love from Zone 8b in Texas!
I'm building berm and was doing foundation planting this year. I had so much fun watching your videos for options and advice. I appreciate your videos. Even though I get jealous over some of your suggestions that won't go colder than zone 7.😂
Yes. Even though I’m in North Texas, I’ve learned the hard way, pick plants from zone 6-8. The big swings in temperature require the hardiest of the hardy!
I’m so afraid of bugs, wasp, etc is why I never plant anything but whole heartily want some curb appeal. Your energy gives me pause to rethink the beauty I’m missing out on. 🌹
I’m not sure where you are but man I love plants . So peaceful. Love the combos you come up with . I’m starting another Nusery and love helping people chose what looks good. Again great combination of plants and sizes. Daniel
I just planted 2 obsessions nandina to replace 2 Japanese barberrys on the side of my home. Had a hard time finding locally so ordered from Southern Living. I planted a golden globe in the front to replace a dead shrub. I want a couple of jubilation gardenias but need to find a spot for them. I have a couple of mountain fires as well! Luv your videos!❤
Love you showing your home with such great examples. Your enthusiasm is wonderful. I have two homes so always looking for more ideas for the properties. Thank you.
You are amazing! This was so helpful! You just delivered it perfectly. Direct and simple. I loved the little landscaping tips you gave at the beginning. Awesome!

You are god sent my man! Thank you for such an amazing video - I was so lost in deciding what to plat in my front yard and was looking exactly for something like this.
So many amazing ideas!!!! I am in NJ. My favorite shrubs are arborvitae. The golden globe looks beautiful. Thank you for your entertaining and educational videos 😊
Arborvitaes are my favorite as well. That's why I talk about them so much on the channel. They are no fuss, low maintenance, and easy shrubs to grow. They look good too!
I've been thinking about some of those small shrubs as I'm redoing the front bed in the house...previous owners made extremely narrow beds and I've widened and removed an asymetrical bock wall. Thank-you for show casing the perfect sized shrubs!
Wow! I loved this video. It is so refreshing to see someone who loves what they do. Those were great combinations. Well, I have a tie, as my favorite combination (1.Fire Chief Arborvitae and Cerise Charm Loropetlum 4. Jazz Hands Varigated Loropetlum and Sunshine Lingustrum). That Banana appeal Illicium was a beautiful plant.
Oh my goodness thank you so much for this! I just wish I had seen it before I spent over $1000 on plants and bulbs to put in the ground this month. I still may take a couple of those combinations and relocate some existing plants, and do something else with what I just purchased. Thank you so much!
You’re energy is awesome! I need to know what you eat for breakfast 😂!”. I really love your combinations. I just bought some Fire Chief Arbs for my front flower bed. Now I’m thinking about those Pugsters! Keep up your great content!
I always love your videos! Not only are they so much fun to watch, but they’re educational and SO inspiring. We love our jazz hands with sunshine ligustrum in our landscape.😊
I absolutely love your enthusiasm! This is a great video, as I'm someone who knows nothing about landscaping, but my husband and I want to do our own yard this year. These are great recommendations.
