Great video Antonio! Corduroy, wool, waxed fabric, heavy felt ...these ARE the old money fabrics of winter. I love my wool ties and have a few...hard to find but worth it. I think for headwear also add a real wool watchcap. No logos or labels, just a plain coloured watchcap (especially with a pea coat) One of my favorite winter casual jackets is little known in North America but I love it...a wool Australian Bluey. I also think that an aviator or double mackinaw hat would be old money, in an eccentric kind of way and in the right setting. I have an excellent real fur hat with fold down ear flaps that is really dressy.
Thanks for this great old money content Antonio! I finally just got a good professional job and have had a chance to build up my wardrobe accordingly just since watching this channel for a few months. I’ve gone from having some friends sit me down for an intervention about my awful style to getting compliments from people all the time for always looking sharp and it’s all because of the sound advice you put out here. Great stuff man.
A nice felt fedora for the winter time gives that old money feel while keeping your head warm. Pair it with a nice scarf to cover the neck, ears, and face when the cold wind is blowing and you’re pretty well protected.
I've owned a Barbour Beaufort since 2005, so can tell you that you must put money into it to make it last forever. Last year, for instance, I spent around $150 re-waxing it and patching tears.
Well I guess I fuct up your #2 rule sir. With all due respect sir, how TF am I going to stay on topic if you don't release a Birthday video on our Birthday? Yeah, I get a pass huh? SEMPER FIDELIS!!!
I don't know if it counts as "old money" or not but I've always been a fam of the ushanka. Mine is made from real rabbit fur and my head was still hot even in the North Dakota winter with 40mph winds. Stylish or not, it's still very practical!
Harris Tweed is my jam! I have 6 Harris Tweed jackets. I love wearing them. All of mine have the leather elbow pads(I don't know the actual name for it). They add so much character to the jacket, imo!
Hey Antonio! Winter is my favorite season in general but especially when it comes to fashion. That being said, I’ve been wanting to get a trench coat. Something high quality, in a tan color, that is knee-length without lapels that are crazy big. I haven’t had much luck finding a suitable one or brand that has one, so I’d appreciate any input from you or anyone else in the comments!
Hey man, I have taken your advice ever since I found your channel. As informative as your videos are, I have a few PERSONAL specific details that "possibly" change/combine opposing points you've made. I know I'm a nobody, but is there any way I could get just one interaction where you help me figure out what I can't seem to figure out myself? I'm willing to pay if you'd prefer of course, but you have inspired me to upgrade my look and, even though you have a different style than I do, we share the same appreciation for many stylish staples. I'm old (35) and just now figuring out my style and would love the opportunity to upgrade my look with your help.
Timing is everything! I'm going to your hood Racine WI in late January. I'm from San Diego and I have no clue how to dress for that kind of cold! SHIPMATE: This is going to be brutal

I am not old money but I come from an amazing German-American heritage that I can be proud of but they are not great dressers. Thank you for helping myself and other maximize our potential.
I like ear muffs.I have a thick head of hair so ear muffins are a good thing for me even in Minnesota winters Hats flatten out my hair , I may use a lose hooded coat to cover my head if it’s below zero.
Hey, Antonio. Great video, as always! One note, the Hebrides are pronounced as "heh-bruh-deez" rather than "heh-breeds." I used to say it with the latter pronunciation as well until I went to study in Scotland and was swiftly corrected on this one day 😅. Nonetheless, as a tweed aficionado myself, I'm pleased to see it being given some appreciation. Would love to see a video on tweeds one day!
I have a red corduroy jacket from Deviumusa and i love the hell out of it. With the right outfit, it can give off the James dean type of look assuming you have the right build for it.
I like my Barbour wax Jacket, i didn't really think of it as old money, more a practical garment as it rains a lot where i am. I've had it over twenty years and it's still going strong. You can wear it most of the year and layer under it. I bought another one twelve years ago from a budget supermarket for £30 and recentley waxed it at home and it also does the job, you can wear it when it's raining or when it's dry and it still looks ok. I don't see it as something fashionable, more practical. Cords are better than jeans in the winter but Moleskins are better as they block the wind. The downside is some people associate a wax jacket with certain types as they aren't generally pooular. People have perceptions no matter what you wear, I'm inclined to think the generally wealthy old money types would try to hide it and dress like everyone else when out and about. I don't get how what borders on scarcasim for wearing a practical coat for my area from a minority of people. The question you have to ask yourself is do you need to impress someone and most importanly be yourself in the way you dress.
That lady with the head scarf and quilted jacket looks like she can command attention. She looks like the type when she talks people listen. She would be at home I bet leading a huge global company or a powerful country.

Antonio - Heb-ra-dees! American English vs. British English! Please pronounce correctly (for a Brit!). Heb-ra-dees is how the location where Harris Tweed is woven is pronounced. Great video all the same!
Wax on cotton that Barbour makes as shown in the video was invented by Burberry who supplied coats/jackets to the British army during WW1 and WW2. As seen in the video, some jackets actually are from Burberry and not Barbour as you can see the classic Burberry Nova check on the inside.
Not a fan of the 'old money' in the title. But to address the content of the video, some solid picks in there, but some I don't think are great. To be specific, the recommending tweed jackets and barbour jackets. I've had both, and I don't find them as versatile as Antonio says they are. Barbour jackets are really only suited for country wear. And I don't mean just stylistically, but practically as well. They really stand out and don't feel right when worn in a city. And if they're freshly waxed, they can leave marks on car seats and other places. What's more, you can't wash barbour jackets. You can spot-clean them, but not wash them, so keep that in mind. Similar story with tweed - it just has a very rustic feel and sticks out in a city. Maybe in grey it can work, but green or brown just don't feel right to me. If you're in the countryside, they're great. But if you're in a city, flannel is much better.
Do you guys think some of these clothes and styles are more fit for a man of European decent rather than the African sub continent? I'm a African man living in Canada. My hair will never grow like that haha. And those clothes won't last in -25 degrees Celsius in Montréal.
Black guys pull off some amazing styles so don't be discouraged! Sometimes the colours you'll want to choose are slightly different than a white guy, as different colours will complement your skin better. Also, Africa isn't a subcontinent haha it's just a continent
🤔 Sometimes i notice a watch on a customers wrist and make a comment....(cause i'm a bit in watches) Their faces lightn up... we talk a bit... and you know exactly that only one or two people ever take notice of. It's simply that the crowd has no clue and/or sense for these things. And that's the flipside... When you can look nearly like the models in this vid you will be noticed as cool... if not you only look a bit outdated 😂 that's the sad reality... or good?? 🤔
Great overview of the old school/money look in winter. Pea coat or duffle coat would have been right at home on your list. I still think you should say 'gentlemen' rather than 'gents'. Gents sounds so mafia, brooklyn and smokey bar.... nothing old money about that at all.
'Old money look' can appear ridiculous if there's any attempt to mimick it, far better to choose your clothing to suit the local environment. Avoiding (any) synthetic clothing material has to be the way to go, once you're aware of the harm it causes the planet. Harris Tweed is fantastic stuff, looks best when not brand new.
Okay guys, get off Antonio"s back about the Hebrides! The pronunciation is easy for people who have a British Isles heritage or are a "colonial" (I'm Canadian of Scottish decent). A bit tougher for others who don't have that advantage or have not been raised in or exposed to that culture. Even though I have lived in America for a few months now I still don't quite understand what a "y'all" is!
Of course, climates are different depending on where in Europe you are. Finland is not the same as Italy or Spain. Here in Canada styles are different too because of different regional traditions and the size of the country which can mean many different climates at the same time.
Watching this living in Puerto Rico coast where the lowest temperature is 77F in winter

I bought an old East German Ushanka hat from a surplus store and it's just SO DANG STYLISH!!! It was also packed with a newspaper page from 1965

British made flatcap. It’s the best. Stylish and warm.
I like the James Bond “Skyfall” Barbour Jacket Daniel Craig made it look cool 👍
Fantastic video as always. A quilted jacket could also be added to this collection.
Absolutely!
Hey Antonio, could you maybe recommend Old Money style magazines? You know, where models wear Old Money clothes?
I've owned a Barbour Beaufort since 2005, so can tell you that you must put money into it to make it last forever. Last year, for instance, I spent around $150 re-waxing it and patching tears.
A great old money hat is a Hamburg or a fedora, beaver of course. A nice pork pie. Depends on body and face shape.

Great content. The items are spot-on!! I think your classic pea coat and perhaps a fisherman beanie or watch cap could be on the list also.
Cashmere beanie (with Pom ) is a go to in winter. Not sure if it screams money like an expensive top hat, but can pair nicely with winter clothing
