wouldn't it be refreshing for the pentagon to actually finish a program and replace whatever instead of stopping midway through and just upgrading the existing system! better yet decide what they want before spending a penny! (i could list those programs just from the first gulf war on and that list would be 500 programs plus long!!) oh well anyway, the USAS the koreans made while using a standard 12 gauge shell would have been perfect for that role aside form it's length!
The USAS would have indeed been perfect for this role. Fun fact, the concept for the USAS is based on the Atchisson AA-12. So, in a roundabout way, the USAS is a product of the CAWS program. Appreciate the support Keith!
@@TiptonBros you know i actually got to handle a AA12 and a USAS at Knob creek over decades ago (and i can;t believe it was that long ago!!!) whoever came up with the AA12 must think soldiers are 9 foot tall!! that shotgun is that out of proportion!! one i'd like to see though is a belt fed 12 gauge with twin spade grips!!
@@keithmoore5306 I can only imagine how unwieldy it was. With the loaded drum it was pushing 17lbs. You’d have to be a terminator to carry that around all day.
@@keithmoore5306 Tbf, the AA-12 is practically recoiless due how its recoil system works, compared to other Automatic shotgun you get the full recoil of the 12 gauge
I will always think of jagged alliance 2 when I think about this gun, and vice versa.
Thanks for making this as a fan of lost tech. Basically technically that had a lot of potential but was never adopted i love videos on guns like this.
Great video. Compact and straight to the point.
I like my Hks but this is a strange design for sure.

@@nelsonsham2368 well recoil is not the issue for me it's the ergonomics!
Source of the info on the sights? I'm designing a 3d printed version and i cant find any pics or info on the sights
To the best of my memory it was buried in an old HK forum. Info is quite spotty. I apologize.
Heckler and coke…
