I recently bought an A1 over the summer and have been printing non stop. Thank you so much for your videos. They have definitely helped me in my research and progress in this hobby. It has gotten to the point where I have even been able to patent a design I made and be in conversations with a company to make it more viable for buyers!

One thing you didn't touch on is the toolless hot-swappable nozzle on the A1. It's such an amazing feature to swap the stock 0.4 mm nozzle to a 0.6 mm for big prints or even a 0.2 mm nozzle for miniatures or high-detail prints. It's such an amazing feature and it really makes the A1 an excellent choice for someone getting their first printer. Also, the A1 is a lot less noisy in my experience.

Honestly as a Flashforge adventurer user the toolless swappable nozzle was nothing new. I'm mostly surprised that more manufacturers don't do it.

this is really helpful. I have the X1C and don't need another enclosure one, or AMS. My only concern about the A1 is the footprint needed for the bed moving around.

We got the X1C on your recommendation and we loved it so much we got a second one. We've had them now for over a year, they're both still amazing.
The AMS is a great addition to it, and we especially like the AI detection. Prints don't fail often (99% of the time it's adhesion issues because we didn't clean and prep the plate properly) and it has detected it every single time, saving us time and filament.
We ended up getting a textured PEI plate for them, which I'd also highly recommend.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with it and will happily recommend it. It looks intimidating, but I was a complete noob with 3D printing, and your videos + the instructions inside had it up and running the first benchy in under 10 minutes.

Something I recommend touching on for the A1...the "Eddy Sensors" in the Nozzle (Active Flow Rate Compensation). A feature not present in the others, excluding the X1 (Lidar). This dramatically helps prevent flow rate issues, especially for those who are not used to fine tune calibrating their filaments!

The P1S is the best purchase I've ever made. It completely renewed my passion for 3D printing, my old CR-10 mini was great but I started having so many issues it turned me off 3D printing and I stopped using it. A1 is probably the best entry level. 98% of my prints were successful. My failed prints were completely my fault. (Had the filament set to pla instead of petg on the ams, if you know you know) overall an awesome printer. I can't wait for my next one. The addiction begins. 😅

So i went Straight to the X1C w/ams as my first printer, with no real knowledge of 3D printing. (It is overkill at the moment for me, ngl) Fast forward a few months(with lots of teaching from friends), and I don't regret it! I can count my failed prints on one hand. I'm still branching out from PLA & exploring other materials, but nothing truly exotic that the printer is designed towards, yet. I do have future plans to print more exotic materials, while my main use is more aligned with yours. Now that I'm planning for a 2nd printer in the distant future, this video does have me thinking of the p1s!
    Great Video as always!

I love my P1S! Definitely my most precious tool in my house and can't wait to get more like the A1 mini next. Just to have something actually at my desk and prototype small parts like I used to. The P1S is just too big for that but each printer has its use cases. The P1S can deliver quality, desired materials some printers can't do, and multi-material printing. The A1 mini is perfectly suited for any beginner without the AMS lite and compact. Bambu Lab really has done a nice job with their products, software, and ecosystem of parts. Highly recommend to anyone interested in their printers.

Thank you for all your videos and honest reviews. I'm finally taking the plunge and getting my first 3d printer and excited to do so. Been weighing my options and your videos have been extremely helpful. While I'm very hands on with being able to build/tinker with things (i.e. android over iphone, build my own pc, etc.), I think I'm heavily leaning now toward the Bambu Lab brand. Now, just need to decided between the A1 Combo or P1P... I know I have a long way to go and lot to learn (feel like my feet are just in the kiddy pool at this point), but am hoping to be able to print a large range of things from RPG mini's and terrain pieces to larger scale works like masks, gadgets/tools, and decorations. Speed isn't too big of a deal for me at this time as these will be more for personal projects and won't need to worry about quantity over quality, but not sure if the P1P would offer that smidgen of better quality (especially with smaller projects like the minis and 0.2 mm prints) and more room to grow with more filament options in the future.

I think this message comes too late, but I want to congratulate you. Frankly, I like your videos. They are detailed and easy to understand, and you help many people with them. Thank you. The problem with the discoloration of the A1 could be caused by a change in speed. At higher speeds, the filament receives less cooling than the parts printed at slower speeds. We can't always control the printing speed, and sometimes I have problems with discoloration or color changes on overhangs or near corners.

  • @CookieTime_

Started with an ender, then went to a v400 for better print speed, as well as a larger print size, but ran into a few different issues such as hitting prints off the bed and other issues causing quite a few failed prints. Finally i decided i wanted to get a bambu printer, ended up going with the x1 carbon, and it has been fantastic. Its ease of use makes the hobby really enjoyable. I agree about the price, but i have had the printer a few times detect spaghetti and stop the print, and also enjoy the touch screen. I didnt really want to get 2 p1s, just wanted one that worked perfectly. (Maybe would get another if they make a printer with a bigger bed) Overall great printer and company, and the bambu handy app is fantastic allowing me to print from my phone without even having to slice everything. Highly recommend to anyone who is on the fence with which printer to get.

I am a huge fan of Bambu Lab and their printers, but I have not had good experiences with their silk PLAs.
I have had the exact same rough texture on the exterior walls that you had on your A1 print (I think I also saw it a little on your X1C print on the right jaw bone). I also noticed that their silk stuck WAY more to the hologram plates I was printing on with a bed temp of 65c compared to every other brand of silk filament I have. For that matter their silk sticks to the hologram plates so badly I have to scrub it off with a blue sponge and dish soap with some elbow grease, and I don't have that issue with ANY other filament regardless of type of vendor.
My conclusion is they have modified their silk PLA formula so that it will print faster overall and also not require slowing down the outer walls to say 50mm/s to get a shiny exterior. I wasted about a 1/3rd of their silk blue PLA trying to print a Tron bike with it before I threw in the towel and bought a 3rd party roll of blue silk which gave me 0 issues.
The only thing I think could try next is to try the roll because maybe the additives they added absorbed water, but currently I avoid their silk PLA like the plague for the very issue you showed. I love all of their other filaments, especially their high speed PLA and translucent PETG.

My first printer was an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max. Which is definitely a Problem Child, but I got it at a great deal during the Labor Day sale, and I wanted something that prints REAL BIG. When it works, it's great, when it doesn't, it's frustrating, but I think it's been a good opportunity for me. As my first printer it has made me actually LEARN more about how to adjust and tweak settings etc. And its shown me that I DO like this hobby, even when it causes problems.
That said, I have been seriously considering grabbing a P1S as a second printer just for something nicer to handle and do more consistent printing without needing to tweak and adjust settings constantly. I just REALLY wish that Bambu made something with a bigger build area. I wanna print REAL BIG! Maybe someday soon.

It's funny, I've had the same experience with my Neptune 4. A lot of tweaking, etc., but so much valuable knowlege about 3D printing that I would've missed out on by getting a printer that just worked out of the box. I acually enjoyed the failure and the tinkering just as much as every good print. Now it's working perfectly I would say 80 percent of the time and I absolutely love it! I was thinking about getting a P1S but I couldn't bring myself abandoning my lovely Neptune 4 :) Maybe on Black Friday there'll be a good deal on the combo... I'll probably get it then but I'll alway keep my Neptune 4 ;)

Good review. I do have a video production tip for you. Your audio is off a little it sounds like you are filming in a small space. Hang up a ferny pad or blanket heavier the better on the wall behind your camera. It will reduce/eliminate that echo and some of the sharpness in the audio. Foam egg crate on the off camera walls will do wonders as a permanent solution. I have making tv shows for 18 years. Keep up the good work.

I've got a SV08 and want multi color prints since the co print project for it seems to of disappeared off the internet. I think after watching your video, I might just got for the A1 combo, especially with the black friday deals currently going on plus I don't need the speed since my SV08 prints fast and with very good quality. Great video comparison :)

I am looking to get a 3d printer soon and looking at getting the P1S combo. I just barely subscribed love your stuff in the background love the helmets. I saw a kingdom hearts keyblade ❤😍 I am in love and seeing the other weapons are so cool. I hope you can get a chance to respond but I am just doing research and it would be my first 3d printer.

I am 2 weeks into 3D printing and I'm really enjoying it. I purchased a Ankermake M5C which has been great, but I'm starting to out grow it. My next projects are either larger in size (Helmets) or higher in quality. I've watched a ton of your videos to try and help me decide but I'm stuck... The Bambu P1P has fantastic reviews but with a 256mm build plate, it falls just short of being able to print a full Mando helmet. What printer would you recommend in this situation? Keep up the great videos!

A1 combo over P1S I think is a way better first time printer for people. They get the multi color print as well as a fantastic printer, all for less than the p1s on its own! But if money is not a problem - p1s combo would be the way to go

For me the P1S is the one I would buy. The A1 is a non starter for me since bed slingers need that extra room to sling the bed around. Next these printers do release particulates so anything without an enclosure and exhaust fan option is another non starter. Luckily the P1S is affordable enough. Can do any material I’d reasonably print at home and is easy to use.

Honestly, if I could have the screen and hardened steel hot-end from the X1C on the P1S, it would be absolutely perfect. All the other bells and whistles on the X1C don't really interest me. Still, the P1S is just hard to beat.

Possible to swap extruder and nozzle in the P1S and get the best bang for the buck? AI seems to be a gimmicky feature, and lidar is good to have. Btw amazing channel, a bunch of you videos has inspired me to graduate from enders.

I just got the A1 mini combo about a week ago now and have absolutely loved it. I already have a Ender 3 s1 plus. Do for larger prints, that covers that. But I found a lot of things I were printing were quite small. So with that and limited space to put a 2nd printer. I felt that was perfect.
I was wondering if you have a guide to reduce the amount of waste from the filament “poop”. Especially when changing colours

m have a dilemma now my fdm it's pretty slow and old ( talking about early creality printers old )
Thinking is about time to update and my dilemma is should i buy :
    - the a1 ( im mostly printing in pla )
    - p1s ( you never know when i gonna feel the need to print of other materials + the ams its a blast for me as i struggle with humidity )
    - or maybe wait to early 2025 for new bambu printer release

I have an A1 and I really like it, but now I want to print materials it can't handle. I want to buy the P1S, but it's been out for 2 years now and most companies bring out updated versions out by now, and that's the only thing stopping me now. I don't want to buy the P1S and a month later hear they're bringing out a P2S

A1 Mini: "Am I a joke to you?" Seriously though, if you already have a printer and high quality things like miniatures are some of the things you print, get an A1 Mini as a second printer, and put a 0.2 nozzle on it. That's what I did after a week of having an A1, and accidentally printing a super HQ 44 hour print job. If you ever need to print things faster in normal quality, it's crazy easy to switch nozzles. EVERYONE into 3D printing should have at least a cheap second printer.

I remember you saying once that you were using your K1 (I don’t recall if it was the max or the smaller one) was your work horse. Flavor of the month? Or is the Bambu Lab video your current opinion? I am not being critical…I am in the market for my first printer in the CoreXY form factor. I do prefer the size of the K1 Max, but throwing that part out…I could get a regular K1 cheaper than the P1. Thoughts on that comparison, or maybe that would be an idea for a video K1 vs P1 - Cage Match!!!

    • @Rayqauzay
      @Rayqauzay หลายเดือนก่อน

He is talking about the k1 max due to the size. He prints different files on the machines and the K1 max is easier for larger props without having to weld them. Defo any Bambu over the standard K1 (pretty sure he mentioned it in a previous video)
