I recently bought an Edinburgh £1 coin and I had no idea that the circles in this series where interlinked between the cities. Thanks for the insight, very interesting video!
Found a Belfast round pound in my change at weekend seemed appropriate as it was in the pub for St.Patricks day, Thanks for the information especially why the mint is in Wales,.
Thankyou for a good video detailing rare £1 coins . I collected the 1988 £1 ROYAL ARMS coin and have a large collection . I think with a mintage of just over 7 million it is a rare coin and will become valuable in years to come .
I have every circulated round pound as a complete collection. I decided to collect them when I heard they were being withdrawn from circulation, around 2014. Fortunately, my bottle of change at the time was nearly half full, and I got nearly the whole set in one go. The only one I had to buy was the Edinburgh coin. I bought it from a market trader for £10. And after Covid restrictions were lifted, I made a number of trips to my bank, and liberated a number of round pounds and swapped worn ones for much shinier ones, and I did quite well, a near perfect 1983 coin being rescued from the tip cup at a Cafe Nero. Also saved were two 2008 Royal Arms coins which I was thrilled with. The biggest surprise came two weeks before Christmas last year, when I got the last round pound in change from my local supermarket. I shouldn't have even got it and it was in mint condition. I also have an unstruck round pound and a big collection of territory round pounds too. I loved this video. I miss the round pound coins. I liked them because they were individual and not like the new ones, all the same
I have a pound coin from 1980 or 1989 with the thistle I think ? Also a pound coin from Gibralta with the skull on it from 2007.are these worth anything?
Including the NIFCs, I have all of them, bar the 2016 JC NIFC, and a special NIFC double pack that included the last round pound and a 12 sided design with a cross crosslet mintmark.
Hello, Question About Stike Youre Owns: At the time of writeing this the Edward Jenner 2 pound is the strike youre own, as it is now the 9th of jan not the 7th is the Edward Jenner £2 still the stike youre own if i go down to the mint or not? (skip to last if you to since this on isnt so importand) 2nd to last question (sorry for all the questions if you read this.) where do you look to find what the strike dates or the strike youre owns are? Because i have look alot and I can NOT find them at all. Last question do the autisum friendly tours do stike youre own? if not what tours do?
Yes it is still the Edward Jenner £2 as the SYO. Sometimes the mint let's us know ahead of time what date it will change but mostly we just have to wait until they announce a change on their social media -CC
I would of prefered to see a top 20 rarest £1 coins that featured the true rarest £1 coins. This is just circulated £1 coins. You can just look this up anywhere. However, knowing what the mintage figures for every £1 coin, including all those set only ones, that would be great to now. For example, is there a £1 coin froma 2015 4th portrait set that features the rarest $1 coin? I'm not sure, would love to know though. Also, could do a £2 and 50p rarest coins, too. I know the commemoratives are harder to know, but you could ask the Royal Mint what they are. Now that would be a great upload. Would love to see that.
Greetings from Turkey Sir, I have some one pound coins dated back 1983, 1984,1985, and 2000, 2003, 2005.. Plus some newer years like 2016,2017 Any ideas how much they worth it??
It is hard to choose from. For me It is the designs from Wales, especially the Dragon (bias). I would've like to see the designs from round £1 coins onto the new £1 coins.
