It slightly surprises me to think anyone (of sane mind) wouldn’t be suckered into buying these ludicrously overpriced coins, but sadly they do and the need for people like yourself Christopher to debunk them. Great stuff Christopher & BCC 👍🏻
There are some suspect chancers online ... knowledge is key and this is a very useful video. Sometimes you see a high price then the next listing down is somewhat lower but still well over the coins value.... tricking collectors into thinking they have found a bargain. Great video bcc happy days 🥋👍
Great video Christopher and BCC - I buy from e-bay regularly but not at the prices you’ve quoted there - lol. I don’t see these people so much as scammers because presumably you get the coins. I do see them as chancers but they only need to sell a small %of coins to make a killing. I don’t think its possible to embarrass them into stopping sadly as they have no scruples. Keep up the good work 👍
Very good points! I also think some of them must be people who have seen coins listed at stupid prices, have found one and genuinely believe that is the going price so list it for sale -CC
If the Churchill Crown was as valued in that listing, then I would have to thank you more profusely, Christopher, as you sent me one last year at no cost .. you even signed it. I noticed you missed the enormous amount of "high value" 1971 2p coins that plague Ebay!
Brilliant video Christopher! Without boring you with all the blahdy, I've just come in to a wee bit of money 💰 and I think you've just saved me a few hundred of it! I've always wanted a error, but this has been a great eye opener. Cheers.
Hi Christopher, I'm glad to see we are not the only ones in Australia that have NUMNUTS that think we are all like them I hope they get their just desserts.
It really annoys me when these chancers list these coins. All it takes is for somebody who doesn’t know to buy one and get ripped off. This is where your videos come in to try and prevent them from being sold 👍
Yes hopefully the video helps. I think sometimes it is people seeing these crazy prices being listed then finding one and listing it themselves too it's a circle of crazy prices -CC
I've just found 4 Benjamin Bunnies in a hunt. By these calculations I'm over £43 grand better off! 😂😂. Seriously this is something that Ebay, Amazon or whoever should be removing from their sites.
Imagine what I'd be worth if I had kept all the hundreds I have found haha! I'll see you in the Bahamas we could get ourselves some nice mansions haha -CC
Similar insane overpriced Euro coins can be found on our Dutch site Marktplaats. There are so many examples, it is ridiculous. I have tried to warn people for this kind of scam but Marktplaats did not like that and removed my notification. The same goes for Etsy where circulation coins of no particular value are sometimes priced in the thousands of Euros. I am surprised by the fact that such 2nd hand sites allow these attempts to ripp off somebody. Very bad practice. Maybe more of these videos should follow to draw people's attention to this robbery.
It is a real shame and just goes to show you need to do your homework before making a purchase, especially if you are looking to spend this kind of money on coins -CC
Thanks! Glad you have found some coins through us. We are always adding more and more onto our website so keep an eye out or contact us directly if you want something that isn't listed on our website -CC
I want to know the outrageous price of a Christopher Ironsides. I've heard there's a guy who has lots of them, thinking it was a good idea at the time. Asking for a friend. 😋
I have had two high street antique dealers attempting the upside-down edge-inscription "error" play with me, one of which wanted £175 for a British Army commemorative £2 coin. I played dumb the first time and let him gabble on. The second time, I challenged it, stating that it is officially not an error, as declared by the royal mint. His face looked lop-sided as if he was about to have a stroke when it occured to me he must have paid something ludicrous himself to acquire it. I kind of felt bad afterwards, because he was a lovely person. So I bought a nice 9 piastre George VI 1940 silver coin at the right price (£12). It's my favourite coin to date. Every coin has a story, and mine has added to it.
Great video. I always wonder if any poor fools actually buy these coins. If not why would they advertise. Anyway it is a widespread occurrence and I just did a quick eBay search and found a “Battle Of Hastings 1066 50p Coin *Super Rare* “ for a mere £749,250 but you had to collect it in person!
If I had £10,000 to spend on coins, I would probably buy pure silver and gold coins as an investment. I would also get the best quality 1p coins from each monarch.
A coin is only worth what someone is willing to pay but there's a seller on a established site that asks ridiculous prices! The seller uses a colour and bodypart ! This sellers prices are off the chart yet is featured when you look up prices, the seller must have some success to afford premium advertising. I feel sorry for the people who have purchased coins or think it must true
I'm Changing over to the royal mint. I purchase from the London mint and just found out its Oslo who own and run it.. I still like my coins I bought. Will I ever see profit on my gold sorvighn 2022 Isle man xmsss full proff sorvighn. I paid 999. Its only 150 minted.. Its a low number so I hoped others may feel the same way.. Anyways I had two and sent one back.. Cpm have my other 1 was going to be 3 I will get it first have to pay of 150 for my second set Alice. I have wonderland silver proff 50p full set and the other I still owe 150 is through the looking glass 345 each set.. The box let's them down. With mu full proff xmsss sorvighn I like the wood box... My father has one from Westminster mint in a wood box proff full sorvighn it's now got a smudge on it. We were going to send it in to your Brittany for sale but with a smudge on a proff sovereign it may lose lots. Its selling for 695 he paid 545. Is it a profit thier.. He paid 995 for three 1/2 first head Victoria extra fine yip.. Is it worth sending pics... I suppose I could. He wants to sell..

I'd hate to think people got ripped off for really common circulating coins. This is why you should always do your homework before buying -CC

Excellent video, Christopher 👍
Could this be regular thing ?
A "What the Fudge" coin deal of the week ?
Hahahaha! I love that idea! -CC
Absolutely shocking, and so true!
Some eye watering prices! -CC
These people needs to be reported as scammers
If there was a 'this listing is massively overpriced' button they'd all have gotten that ticked -CC
I chocked on my coffee at the price of those coin’s. Excellent video Christopher 👌👍
Thanks! It was pretty astounding to see some of the prices! -CC
Those figures made my eyes water 😂. Thanks BCC
You and me both haha! It was great fun finding all the listings though -CC
Honestly ebay is a struggle at times, have these ridiculous listings ever paid off? I look forward to making my first purchase from your website soon.
Who knows let's hope not though! Thanks for checking out our website! -CC
I wondered when you would expose the the madness of eBay thank you
Hi Christopher, I'm glad to see we are not the only ones in Australia that have NUMNUTS that think we are all like them I hope they get their just desserts.
Yes I think there are plenty of them the world over haha! -CC
Great expose!
Glad you enjoyed! -CC
Cannot believe that people would charge such prices better prices on this site as I have purchased some.
Agreed! Goes to show you should always do your homework before making quick purchases -CC
Thanks Christopher i would love a Kew 😢
Hi where is your shop to pass over please ,thanks I'm in london I would like same advice..

Is the Royal Mint going to produce more 50p Dimosaur coins ?
I hope so! They were a really fun collection of coins! -CC
You could buy a £17,999.50 car for the Kew Gardens coin and demand for it back as change! ;)
Hahahahaha! Very true -CC

Some jokers out there chancing their luck. Thanks for giving this issue some exposure to any who are a bit on the gullible side and easily taken in….

Problem is Chris there is always someone who would pay it, and get there fingers burned in the process.
.I paid £2 for a technology coin .is that too much
Sounds spot on to me -CC
Christopher, either you’re the luckiest man alive with how many Kew Gardens you have or you have hunted through a lot 😂 I’m still hunting btw
